The Space

Private room for rent in Sandy, Utah located just 5.5 miles from Snowbird and 7 miles from Alta. Located just half a mile up Little Cottonwood Canyon. Beautiful surroundings in a very quaint resort. We are up the canyon so that means tall and beautiful mountains in the front and backyard. This is as close to the ski resorts as you can get without actually staying at the resort and paying resort prices.
On pow days there is usually a long line that stretches for about a mile but when you stay at our house, leaving in the morning is great because you can pull out in the front of the line to get up the canyon! NO TRAFFIC! You get to sleep in AND no waiting, its great! Very quiet location. Cell phone service is limited depending on your carrier, but you usually get a few bars.
Includes access to two bathrooms, a kitchen and a living room. You are welcome to cook and use the pots, pans and dishes any time. We have two fridges with plenty of space.
Free parking right in front of the house. We are barely there because we work most of the time. The home has four bedrooms total. We rent three of them. This room has a king-size bed.
There are grocery stores about 5-10 minutes down the road. Smith’s is the closest.
We have wireless Internet but it is pretty slow. It works fine for checking your email but streaming and downloading isn't really an option. Location is a skier’s dream, but you don't need to ski to stay here.
We offer continental breakfast. Cold cereal, toast, fruit, and oatmeal. If you let us know, we will put the oatmeal in the croc-pot so when you wake up it will be hot and ready!
Since our home is located up the canyon we usually recommend that our guests have a car. The nearest public transit is too far to walk to. An option for carless guests would be to take the airport shuttle or a taxi to our house and then hitch hike up and down the canyon for skiing. Not convenient, but possible.
Often guests ask if they need a car with 4-wheel drive or chains. It really depends on the snow conditions. Most of our guests have 4-wheel drive, as they know they will be driving up the canyon. However our road is always plowed and we rarely have anyone get stuck. We own a car that doesn’t have 4-wheel drive and it gets by just fine. Jan-March are the snowiest months.
We don’t own any pets and don’t allow any pets. Sorry to all the animal lovers. We technically live in a watershed area so pets aren’t allowed.
If this room is not available for the dates you would like, then please check the other two rooms we rent from the same location! The room for which you submit the reservation request is the room that we will be able to approve. Airbnb doesn't give us an option to switch you. So please make sure you send the request for the right room. :) This is for the room with the king bed. We also don't mind what time you arrive. We understand that often planes land late. If we go to bed then we will leave the door open for you!
Once you book, we will email you the best directions to the house. (website hidden) maps and apple maps don’t do a very good job at getting you here.
Don't hesitate to ask questions! We want your stay to be perfect! Please let us know what we can do!

  • My quick stopover in the Salt Lake area was a real joy because of Ronnie and Lisa (Thanks for the arrangements, Patrick!). Their home was very nice, clean, and comfortable, as advertised. Ronnie and Lisa were very hospitable and opened their home up to me. I enjoyed all the family pictures (especially the playful ones). The area is beautiful, and I look forward to coming back and spending more time. I would stay with the Romeros again in heartbeat.

  • Ronny and Lisa were fantastic hosts. I'll definitely be back - this is a great spot for skiers: super close to the mountain, super comfy bed, and a delicious oatmeal breakfast to last you through a million laps in mineral basin.

  • Drove in overnight and skied all day. This location is something you cannot beat. It was great after a full day of skiing. So warm and welcoming. The room was perfect and exactly what was needed. Oatmeal was an awesome touch for breakfast. I would totally recommend it to anyone that would ask. Thanks for the awesome time.

  • Ron and Lisa were terrific hosts, doing everything possible to make us feel at home, and part of the family! Bedroom was comfortable and clean, easy access to all other facilities, separate fridge and cupboard space in the kitchen made catering for ourselves very straightforward. It was great being so close to the skiing at Snowbird and Alta. Will definitely plan on staying here again in the future.

  • We had a wonderful stay in Utah! The house and it's hosts were warm and inviting. The location is perfect for skiing Alta/Snowbird. Warm oatmeal in the morning was the perfect way to start the day! The bed was so comfortable (we stayed in the room with the king bed) we almost didn't want to get up. We were not organized enough to make our own dinner but the other guests there were making good use of the large kitchen. I would love to stay again!

  • Great Location. Awesome hosts, couldn't be happier!

  • You won’t believe how close to Snowbird and Alta you are, you will be at the front of the line on powder days without needing to wake up before sunrise. A great experience, thank you to Ronnie and Lisa for sharing your home with Olga and me and being such great hosts! Where else can you find a host that moves your ski boots in front of the fireplace so they are roasty toasty when you wake up in the morning?

  • Wonderful hosts! Fantastic location! Warm and welcoming atmosphere!! One of the most delightful experiences in all my travels!

  • Ronnie and Lisa were great host! There were three groups (5 people) staying with them while I was there making it a great and inexpensive place to crash while skiing Alta andSnowbird. Can't beat the location or family hosting. 10 mins to town for groceries and 10 mins to Alta or Snowbird. You are staying in Little Cottonwood so traffic is nota issue if you have a powder day. Perfect place will definitely stay again. The oatmeal is great in the morning and they even had tons of snacks made for us during the Super Bowl! They definitely went above and beyond everything expected. Thank you!!!
