Interaction with Guests
As my work is very busy and can take me out of town at times I may not be available to meet and greet you. Mrs Meow our cat is always glad to see you in! Please message me the day before your arrival with an estimation of arrival time. I will give you instructions of house access. When I am home we often enjoy sharing a meal and chatting. I am always happy to give you local advise and recommendations. I will supply you with my cell number and always available to talk.
The neighbourhood is wonderfully located for walking, biking, and close to Remarkables Park Shopping centre. We live in quiet, private street with great people around us. If you are without transport I am happy to lend you a bicycle to ride to Queenstown or you a very close to a bus stop. We have lots of sun in Frankton and a short walk to the lake front. 15 mins walk to a great little lakeside cafe. 5 mins walk to The Hilton for a glass of wine. Options are many.
Buses are easy from here. Timetable on the fridge. Bus stop 2 mins away. Biking very easy, tracks are flat and a lovely 30 min ride to Queenstown central. Water Taxi from the Hilton to Queenstown central a great way to go to town. Parking on the street always available. You walk from the airport (15 mins), taxi or call me and I may be able to collect you if I am free.
Other Things to Note
The house is an older style house. In the winter it is necessary to have the heating on and the fire lit to keep the house cozy - which it is as long as all the doors and thermal curtains are shut. Heaters and electric blankets are provided for your room.
Guests are welcome to use the kitchen for cooking. It is expected that guests wash and dry their dishes after each meal.
From Dec 01, 2015 - Feb 29, 2016 the minimum stay is 2 nights.
Apart from a mix up of arrival dates (Trudy thought we were arriving the following day), everything ended up going smoothly. We dined at the nearby Frankfurt shopping complex (a 10 min walk away), then met Trudy at the house, who showed us our gorgeous room. Despite being freezing outside (middle of winter), we found the radiator and the electric blankets were enough to keep ourselves comfortable inside. The next day we drove down to Te Anau to take the glowworm tour, and drove back up for a second night at Trudy's. She gave us loads of tourist information and helpful advice. Very professionally presented!
We spent 5 lovely nights at Trudy's home. By day, we toured stunning Queenstown and surrounding Otago. By night, we relaxed at Trudy's by the log fire chatting with the other lovely guests and Trudy. I highly recommend staying at Trudy's. Thank you!
Wonderful stay! Trudy was very easy to communicate with - accessible, friendly, and considerate. The room was comfortable and warm - I slept great! Very easy to get to/from Queenstown by bus, and Trudy provided bus info and brochures on things to do. I loved being in a quieter neighborhood, but still having Qtown a quick bus ride away.
Trudy wasn't home when we arrived but was available by phone. She told us to let ourselves in and get settled. She provided us with tips on where to eat, public transport, and walking options. She was friendly if a little busy with other parts of her life. She shared her cosy, interesting home with us.
The place has a very good sense of energy and vibes. I loved a lot of Trudy's decor and how she presents her place. Very chill relaxed space. Trudy is very nice and left me to my privacy she seems like a busy worker and balancing a healthy lifestyle probably taking any moment she can to meditate or do yoga. It was cool to see we shared similar books on our bookshelf and my favourite part -besides sitting in front of the fire while reading - would be taking her bike out and riding the trail along the lakeshore to queenstown. It's a great place and would love to see what it's like in the summer. Her backyard looks like a great hangout space.
Host gave me excellent directions and was overall just a lovely woman. The place was quaint and felt special, as if a lot of love went into the decor, it being a real home, and just like a B&B. I recommend whole-heartedly staying there.
