Casita Naranja a is perfect for those that want to spend more time in paradise or simply come more frequently without the expense of a villa or beach bungalow. It makes an excellent home base to explore cenotes, cenote parks, the beaches all along the coast, Mayan ruins, Xcaret, Xel Ha, the choices are endless. The casita is 5 minutes drive (3km) to the beautiful beaches of Tulum or the Mayan Ruins. Enjoy the private patio and relax after a long day spent at the most beautiful beaches in the world. The windows are screened with pet proof screens so you can enjoy the breeze without the pests.

The house rental does include free, dedicated wireless internet to keep your friends and family green with envy as you share your vacation stories and photos.

The casita is located in a safe neighborhood occupied by an eclectic mix of people. From local business owners to Mexican families to expatriates from all over the world. The neighborhood is lively, but far enough removed from the center of Tulum that you do get some peace and quiet. You will still get vendors selling popsicles, bread, and other goodies that cruise up and down the streets. Each has their own horn honk, whistle or catchy song.

The casita is within walking distance of the brand new Chedraui grocery filled with anything you might need/desire. It is also walking distance to the bustling town of Tulum proper. The powdery beaches of Tulum are a short bike ride or drive from the house, 3 miles give or take. Beach towels are provided so don't waste your precious packing space. Or head 3km to the Mayan Ruins and enjoy ancient history. There is a public beach called Playa Maya that is located between Tulum Ruins and Tulum Hotel Zone. It has a long sandy beach, and is less populated with water that is calmer then the beach located within Tulum Ruins. There are some resorts and restaurants on this beach as well as parasailing. The beach at Tulum Ruins is beautiful with an amazing view of the Ruins. Life guards are also stationed there. It can be quite busy.

Bikes are difficult to maintain in tip top shape in a tropical enviroment The chains rust and the tires go flat.

BUGS
Take a look all around and you will see the neighborhood was cut right out of the jungle. There are bugs, bats, frogs, big grasshoppers, dragonflies, mosquitos, roaches sugar ants and all kinds of critters. For the most part you won't be bothered. But you will see bugs from time to time. It doesn't mean the house is filthy. It's just a fact of life in the tropics. We don't spray the heck out of things, but we do have bug bait and it really does help. We try to minimize our use of pesticides because the food chain. We feel badly that we could be poisoning the meals of frogs and lizards. But I promise you they are rarely seen inside the house. Especially if you take the garbage out frequently and keep food picked up.

~~~~~~Unfortunately due to careless guests placing toilet paper and other items in the toilet we have been forced to collect a refundable deposit. DO NOT put any paper, tampons or sanitary napkins in toilet. ~~~~~~~
NEVER, EVER, EVER flush toilet paper down the toilet. NO SANITARY NAPKINS, NO TAMPONS, NOTHING DOWN THE TOILET!!!!!! The water pressure is not strong enough to handle toilet paper. Unless you want a visit from previous eliminations DO NOT flush paper/tampons or pads.
Place your garbage in the garbage bin located next to the toilet. AGAIN, please place it in waste bin provided, NOT THE TOILET!!
Please don't slam doors!
Please limit the use of hair dryers. Breakers may shut off if you have other things on at the same time. Honestly, it's a tropical region. It's a waste of resources in a climate like that, not to mention really expensive. It just curls right up again!
Please be respectful of the property and items contained with in.
There is no daily maid service. If you want additional cleaning you can arrange it with me.
This place has everything you could need for the best price and the bikes were very useful to us, I think is a great choice in Tulum. 2 blocks from the Bocapaila Road.
The house was exactly as described. very good. Emmanuel is responsible man and he took care of house properly. The bicycle he was providing had broken seat and that caused my arm to get broken. I was going a bit fast on the bike as well! His service was 5 star, but SAFETY should be consider as first priority. My vacation ruined and I can not use my had for 4 more weeks. Again . 50% was my problem going a bit fast... but at least 50% was owner of the house problem by not checking bicycle's safety. Goodwork Emmanuel . Just make sure you check Bicycles at least once every 2 months. ( Seats, tires, and chains ) thanks
Pros: Location to the ADO station and to the Tulum’s city center. Laundry services near by Offers lots of pamphlets and information about tourist sites Bicycles are a nice gesture Scooter Hook-Up Deal AC works great Hot water works great Appliances all in good working condition Quiet neighborhood You cant miss this house, it’s literally ALL orange Cons: Host wasn’t very good about responding quickly to communication. We had difficulty checking in, and ended up knocking on the houses of casita azul and verde for help. By the time the host responded it was more than 5 hours later. Fortunately, it was a day light (230-3pm) when we were checking in. If you’re the type that likes cold showers, especially in humid-hot jungle weather, then don’t look into this place. Hot water is very available but not cold water. We ended up putting cups of water in the fridge to help get cooler showers. Drain pipes in bathroom smell when the water is in use. And sometimes they smell when not in use. Also, the water pressure is weak. AC is only in the bedroom. So if you’re travelling with people who will sleep in the common areas, be warned: There’s ONLY AC in the bedroom. **I can rough it, but I would like a little honesty in advance to what I’m signing up for. None of this was mentioned and I feel like others should know.
As a solo female traveler, Emmanuel made me uncomfortable. He is a dance instructor and tried to give me dance lessons in the kitchen of the house on two occasions. These lessons were not asked for. One of the times I was very sunburned and had asked him to come fix the internet. He finally showed up around 10:30pm. I was clearly exhausted and in pain and he still kept trying to dance with me. I just wanted him to leave. He also entered the house to leave sheets and towels and never messaged me to say he was going to come by. I felt like I had no privacy. Like he would just show up whenever he felt like it and wouldn't even let me know he had been there.
Great time in this flat. Very good price for the benefit (bikes, full kitchen, A/C...) And Emmanuel has many advices for what to do and when to do. He also gives salsa courses for free in a restaurant sundays night. We recommande !
Emmanuel's place is great for a relaxing stay in Tulum. Bikes are great for grocery shopping and trips to the beach/tulum ruins/ADO station. There was an issue with flat tire but Emmanuel brought a new bike the next day. Overall great experience!
My stay at Casa Naranja was unbearable.. the house is cluttered and dark, there is AC only in the bedroom and the rest of the house is an oven, the internet connection is spotty, there was a lot of noise at night, the bikes were heavy and almost impossible to ride and one came with a flat tire, the street is scary (crazy potholes unsuitable for biking s and dogs who bark at you and run after you trying to bite you), 30 minute bike ride to the beach in incredible heat, etc. The only good things were that the house is well equipped (kitchenware, bed sheets, pillows, towels) and that it is relatively close to the tulum nightlife. It seems Emmanuel spent a lot more time and energy on making sure everything in the house was orange than on making it comfortable for guests.
