Arriving in early November we really appreciated the warmth and comfort of the house and also the warmth of the hosts. We didn't want to leave!!
We just returned from a 10 day trip around the Bordeaux area of France and stayed 3 nights at Mamie et Papa. We had such a wonderful stay there and it was really all because of the warm welcome from Marie Jose, Andre and their family. They really spent a lot of time to make our stay special- with a ride in their old timer car and a walk through the area. They shared their knowledge and their kindness with us. Thank you again- we loved everything!!
Words would be nowhere near sufficient to describe the experience of staying with 'La Famille Stanghellini'! From the charm of the house, the beauty of the gardens and surrounding villages and the friendliness, life stories and incredible hospitality of André & Marie José. And just when you thought it couldn't get any better, they will take you out in that amazing old car, organise trips for you and generally be the best hosts you could imagine.
This was definitely our best airbnb experience to date!
We had an amazing stay with Andre and Marie Jose. They truly are wonderful hosts and lovely friendly people. We enjoyed having a BBQ with them as we'll as our new found Ozzie friends. Also the ride in Marie Jose vintage car was something else.
Thank you for collecting us from the train station and returning us Andre. I enjoyed my swim in their great swimming pool as well and Greg adored Marie's Fig Jam.
Thank you Thank you. I would recommend their home to Airbnb quests.
Staying at Granny and Grandaddy's apartment was fantastic. The room itself was lovely, clean and a great place to return to from our adventures. Puynormand is a small village near several bigger towns. It's in a beautiful location, and the whole experience staying in the South of France was enriched with the warmth and hospitality of the hosts Marie-Jose and Andre. Marie-Jose and Andre provided great suggestions of things to do, places to eat, vineyards for tasting, and were so patient with mine and partner's minimal French.
Amazing place, amazing people,we will never forget our wonderful time at Granny and Grandaddy's!
Marie-José and André were the best hosts you could imagine. Warm, friendly and interesting. There house is a living museum of african art.
They made us familiar with the world famous vineyards of France. Now we even more appreciate a nice glass of a St. Emilion.
Great experience!!! This is a really fabulous house! We spent there 4 days at the end of the summer. Being with Stanghellini family was very relaxing! The location is great. Every day, after our one-day-trip around the beautiful area (Saint Emilion, Bergerac, Bordeaux) we could have a swim in the swimming pool or we enjoyed lovely dinners in our own terrace. The house is an old building, probably from the XVI century, with an extraordinary decoration. Being there is like traveling abroad. It’s not just a French house, go ahead, dream of Africa. The owners have travelled around the world and you can feel it in that cosmopolitan atmosphere they have created. María José and André are really special and lovely hosts. They know how to make feel you good. We were so comfortable there! The breakfast is wonderful, beautifully presented, with those exquisite homemade jams and the delicious bread just from the next door bakery. What to say about the trip in the old car from 1929 around the vineyards and chateaux in the area! Unforgettable! Lovely hosts, lovely stay, lovely memories. I have no doubt that when we return to Aquitania, Stanghellini family' is our first choice of where we want to stay. Thanks so much María José and André, we had a wonderful time there. Merci beaucoup. Muchas gracias.
We had an amazing time at Marie Josee et Andre´s (Jean´s parents). The bedroom was extremely comfortable, and the feeling of deeply resting in the middle of the french countryside, among vineyards and trees in the most pleasant calm was extraordinary. Our hosts were really nice, we hang at the pool, had a picnic in the beautiful garden and played with their many instruments. They are also very active and have many activities available for those that want to visit around. Very highly recommended.
An unbelievable stay. This was one of our gems on our holiday. From the hosts to the house to the trip in the old car around the countryside. It will be forever be one of my best memories from this trip.
