Interaction with Guests
We will greet you when you arrive. We have lived and traveled on several continents and love meeting and connecting with people. Come up and join us for a cup of coffee! At the same time we respect the privacy of our guests so if you prefer to be completely on your own that is fine too.
It is a quiet residential neighborhood and at the end of our street is a park with wooded trails along a creek that connects with another park. We have mapped out hikes of different lengths from a half mile to two and a half miles that are lovely in every season.
As Bloomington is a university town there is a good transportation system both public and private.
There are quite a few taxi services: Yellow Cab, Red Tire, E2, Fresh Air, White Cab, as well as Uber. There are also several car rentals services available by the day or week.
Public Transport: Near our house is bus route #1 and #4 which pass hourly, one on the hour and the other on the half hour. The closest bus stop to us is #4 about a 5 minute walk, #1 abbout a 10 minute walk. It takes about 30 minutes to go downtown to the University where all routes connect. Bus service begins at 6:35 am with the last bus arriving at 11:35 pm.
If you want to check out the bus routes go to bloomintontransit.com. Entering the current time, your starting point, and where you want to go the site will provide the best route closest to your starting tim
Other Things to Note
What makes this a great place to stay apart from the spacious studio with paintings from local artists, is the quiet location, the wooded backyard, and the nearby park enjoyable in all seasons, but especially in the spring, fall, and summer evenings. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Ours is a family home and for the comfort, well-being, and safety of all we try to promote:
~ Communication (mutually share any requests, needs, concerns or issues as soon as they arise so that the stay can be as enjoyable as possible)
-- Health through a smoke free environment (no smoking in the house or on the property)
~ Peace (house quiet time is from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am)
~ Cleanliness (shoes off indoors; there is a shoe/boot tray by the door).
~ Environmental Awareness (please turn off lights and heater(s), put recyclable materials in recycling bins off the patio)
~ Respect and thoughtfulness (using and caring for the space and its contents as if your own, so that we won't find the need to charge a cleaning fee nor request a security deposit).
