Hillside Apartment

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Micheltorena St, Los Angeles, CA 90026, United States

Lovely garden apartment tucked away on a lush residential hilltop. It's hard to believe, but you'd hardly know you're in the city while here, yet have easy access via public stairs or drivable streets all of this neighborhood's amenities.

Lovely garden apartment tucked away on a lush residential hilltop. It's hard to believe, but you'd hardly know you're in the city while here, yet have easy access via public stairs or drivable streets all of this neighborhood's amenities.

The Space

Open floor plan, private deck, being tucked partially into the hillside keeps it cool, lovely views of lush garden foliage including eucalyptus, succulents, avocado & more. Huge shower, queen bed in bedroom & comfy pull out sofa in living area. Price includes 14% Transient Lodging Tax.

Guest Access

Full kitchen with basic supplies like pots/pans, dishes, silverware, knives, cutting board, can opener, French press coffee maker, wifi, streaming channels via roku, private deck with BBQ, table/chairs, walk in closet & small bureau for clothes.

The apartment serves as our studio when not hosting visitors. Some wardrobes & dressers store our art supplies & are not for guest use.

Interaction with Guests

I work full time, and travel extensively when I'm not working, so most interaction will be via email & texts. I make sure the apartment is clean & ready for you upon check in. I'm happy to chat more if you catch me on my favorite spot on my deck-the hammock.

The Neighborhood

I love the neighborhoods walk ability, unique architecture, friendly neighbors, picturesque views and interesting shops/ restaurants. Therefore, consideration of my neighbors is a must for guests while visiting. Please park and conduct yourselves with consideration in mind.

Getting around

You can take a bus easily from sunset to all parts of LA, and there is a metro station 1.5 miles away. As you may have heard, most people here drive cars. I also like to walk extensively and ride my bike around. Disclosure- we live on top of a large hill & there are lots of stairs to navigate. This is not the property for those with difficulty managing hillside paths or staircases.

Other Things to Note

Street cleaning on Thursdays & Fridays impact parking. Read signs. First come, first served street parking only, but in my 18 years of living here, I've always found a spot. Late at night that spot will be more of a walk than earlier in the day. Guest bookings based on 30 day stay. Non-consecutive dates will be arranged as available if necessary.

  • I loved the apartment and the hosts. Hillside apartment is beautifully located, on top of a hill in a wonderful street in a beautiful friendly neighborhood. It was a pleasure to go back home. Inside the apartment is rational, clean, functional, cheerful and quiet.
I spent 8 wonderful days in LA, and Hillside apartment was part of a great time.
Nothing better than going back to a home where one is comfortable and happy.

  • My adult daughter and I stayed at this great spot in Silver Lake. From the deck you can see Sunset blvd through the trees. Great neighborhood and lots to do down the stairs to Sunset blvd. The place is comfortable and has lots of books and artwork. Kitchen has everything you need for cooking and the wifi worked great too. There is an outdoor deck that we watched the Moon eclipse from.

  • The place is very clean and ideal for a couple or people traveling alone as it is small. The location is spectacular right right by Subset blvd and close to every thing. Just make sure to bring things like blowdryer , toothpaste etc as little is provided. I had a very good experience and recommend this place.

  • Lovely spot with lotsa of privacy. Particularly liked hanging on the deck and the smell of eucalyptus trees in the yard. And it really is a nice neighborhood to walk around. Had an easy time parking, too. Thank you for allowing people to stay in your studio!

  • Awesome little place up in the Silver Lake hills in a great neighborhood. You head out the gate and there is a huge staircase that goes all the way down to Sunset where all the cool stuff is. Very gracious host and there were no problems. Very clear and concise instructions. Highly recommended, especially if you have small children.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Diana's delightful studio for 6 days and had a terrific time. The studio is immaculate and stylish with a gorgeous outside terrace which catches the morning sun. It's in a great location - easy walking distance to a number of excellent bars and restaurants. Diana was an extremely helpful and efficient host, quick to respond to questions and provide immediate solutions. She very kindly gave us an extra hour to check out which really helped with our travel plans. We'd love to stay there again.

  • Diana's spot is a truly wonderful place to stay in L.A. It's in a great neighborhood, it's comfortable, it's quiet and the terrace is a great place to simply chill out in the evenings. Diana is also an amazing hostess: responding quickly to queries and making excellent recommendations. She accommodated us on a very last minute basis and I was very grateful. I would stay again here in a heartbeat.

  • Diana's house was very nice with everything what you need. I have spent a week with my family in LA and Diana's places was an oasis after long days out. Diana was very swift in her responses, though I made a booking on a short notice basis. She met us upon arrival and gave us a tips what to do in LA with a four year old. House is in a beautiful garden and you have a terrace in your part. Good thing for us was free parking in the neighborhood. This was a very nice stay and if I come to LA again I will contact Diana.
I recommend this property to all people who want to have a peaceful nights after visiting vibrant city.
