When my friend and I, two university students looking for an affordable place to stay in NYC, stumbled upon Colin's page, we were sure we had hit the AirBnb jackpot- and boy, did we ever. Colin's home, located just a short walk from the subway, has everything you could ever need or want; the room was clean, quite big for a downtown apartment, and, best of all, had AC (which we were ecstatic about considering New York summers)! We were able to use the kitchen and other facilities with no problem, and it ended up being a great space for the 4 days we were there. Unfortunately, we didn't get to meet Colin until just before we left (schedules just didn't align), but even so, he was still very helpful through messages, and was always quick to respond to any questions we had. He was also very accommodating about our coming and going- on the few nights we were out a bit later, we warned him in advance, and he wasn't at all bothered. It was also fantastic that we were able to leave our bags at his place after check out to make the most of our last day in the city. The neighbourhood was safe (as two young teenage girls, we had no problems at all), and had plenty of grocery stores; also, to uber from times square only cost around $20-25, for those times you just don't want to take the metro, which was really nice. I would gladly recommend this flat to anyone, especially if you're looking for a good place to stay and are on a tight budget like we were!
Thanks, Colin, for helping make our stay in New York such a great one!
