About This Listing
Cosy and convenient studio with a splendid view of the city. Right on top of the metro, in an area rich with markets, restaurants and niche shopkeepers. A quiet place to come home to after a night on the town, ideal for romantic getaways.
The studio is fully equipped with all the amenities to accommodate both short and long-term stays. There's a comfortable queen-sized bed to encourage you to sleep in. The bathroom is clean and has dressing room style lighting around the mirror. But the view is what really makes this flat unique.
Most Hong Kong listings have small windows or aren't high up enough to provide an open panoramic view. Here you'll see the Kowloon mountain range on your left, you'll look down onto the bustling Mong Kok streets in the middle, and you'll find the skylines of both Hong Kong and the Kowloon Peninsula on your right.
You're also more than welcome to cook in the flat, though you'd be missing out on the fantastic little restaurants that make Prince Edward a fabulous place to live.
Anything in the house has been left there for your convenience. So please feel free to use the bathing products, take the guide books on your day out, and fire up the entertainment system for your leisure.
☆☆ Please use the space like it's your own! ☆☆
There's a wardrobe for your clothes, coffee and tea, fresh towels, and the kitchen is equipped to prepare simple meals.
Interaction with Guests
I'm really keen to make your stay as convenient and enjoyable as possible. So even though you have the whole flat to yourself, I'll be staying just around the corner. If there is anything I can assist you with during your stay, I'm always just a buzz away! As you might have gathered from my reviews, I love chatting about the latest and greatest developments here, so I should be able to loop you into what's happening around town.
Goldfish Street, Fa Yuen Street Market, and the Flower Market are the neighbourhood attractions you'll find in your guide book. What's really special here are the alleys and walkways which connect them. Hong Kong is extremely dense, so the more niche shops have had to move to the second or third floors in walk-up buildings. That's where you'll find your python liquors and goggle-eyed camera repairmen.
☆☆ Rich in markets and local cuisine ☆☆
The cultural richness cuts across time and makes Prince Edward a trendy neighbourhood which keeps its traditional charm while skyscrapers are popping up everywhere. It's amazing just how many good Dim Sum (typical Cantonese dishes) restaurants are still around. There's even two Michelin starred restaurants within walking distance!
Proximity to the MTR is everything in Hong Kong as trains depart every other minute and will take you to most places in under twenty. The Prince Edward MTR entrance is just outside our building, with the following travel times to popular destinations:
☆☆ On top of the metro, very well connected ☆☆
* Mong Kok (1 min)
* Sham Shui Po (2 min)
* Tsim Sha Tsui (10 min)
* Central (15 min)
* Wan Chai (15 min)
* Causeway Bay (18 min)
At night a taxi will take you back from popular nightlife hotspots LKF, Wan Chai, Knutsford terrace within 15 minutes and under HK$ 100.
Prince Edward is also adjacent to the transportation hub of Mong Kok, so even when you're trying to get to the more remote temples and sights, there's literally no place in Hong Kong that isn't served by a bus or train from here.
A21 Bus HK$ 38 // Taxi HK$ 250
Airport arrivals are painless as the A21 Airport bus (50 minutes) stops just 250 meters from our place. A taxi would get you there in 30 minutes. In both cases I'll meet you for the check-in.
Other Things to Note
For the rainy days we have curated a selection of the finest works in Hong Kong cinema. Available upon request.
For longer stays you might want to switch things up a little. We have an extensive two-player board game collection. Available upon request.
We want you to feel at home and treat the apartment the same way you'd treat your own. We hope you'll feel comfortable with the following:
* For the safety of your belongings, be sure to pull the door into the lock after passing in or out of the flat.
* When leaving the apartment, please switch off the AC and lights.
* No smoking indoors. There is a landscaped outdoor area on the second floor which doubles as the building's smoker hangout.
* Please restrict pet action to the Gold Fish market downstairs.
Thanks to Mart, we had a fantastic stay! Even though our flight was delayed and we didn't arrive til 4am, he met us downstairs and showed us everything inside the apartment. He made us feel comfortable and we knew he was reliable because of his communication before our stay and meeting us so late at night. It made us feel secure having a security guard in the lobby and he also reassured us we could ask him anything.
The listing was very accurate as are the pictures. The view truly is amazing from the 27th floor. Coming from Seoul, we felt the room was spacious enough and loved all the amenities such as the coffeemaker, utensils, and refrigerator. The only downside was the shower, as others have honestly described- it was either very hot or cold but for the warmer months, it would be ok. There was shampoo, conditioner, soap, a hair dryer and other toiletries to use. There were plenty of outlets, wifi worked well, 2 aircons, and it was very clean- with the windows open it gets dusty within minutes and is just part of HK.
We think the best part about this place was the neighborhood! Just 5-10 minutes in any direction we found many of the best dim sum/pork bun places (One Dim Sum & Tim Ho Wans), bakeries (Top Pot & Kam Wah Cafe), and other local eateries. Since we'd been to HK before and only had a short break, all we wanted was to relax and eat and this was the perfect setting. Many times we got takeout dim sum and brought it back to the apartment because it felt like home and the view never got old. We felt very comfortable there. The MTR is only a minute away, Park n Shop around the corner, Ladies Market and so many other neat things nearby. We took a bus to Shek Lei Pui Reservoir one day and using the bus was fun and easy. The location was far enough from crowded TST but super convenient to get anywhere.
I'd recommend this place especially to independent travellers who like to explore on their own and want a place of their own- no other loud guests next door, boring/busy breakfast buffet with a tour group but folks who want a homebase in another country. We chose this over other listings because of the reviews and credibility of Mart, knowing he was around the corner was great peace of mind and he really thinks of everything in terms of accommodating his guests. He was excellent at providing detailed information and making you feel comfortable. If possible, he will also let you check out late- so checking in/out was a breeze.
There are lots of maps, guidebooks, and recommendations galore for everybody to use which is a bonus. We felt very lucky to have found this place and absolutely loved every minute of our stay!
This is a superb place to stay, immediately above the MTR, next door to a supermarket, very close to restaurants.The flat has everything you need, including soft western (email hidden)rt met us and showed us everything we needed, and left us contact details should we have needed him, but we didn't.Everything was absolutely fine and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay
First time in Hong Kong and stayed 4 nights at Mart's place. Mart is really prompt and welcoming in all his email replies which is great for clearing all our doubts and also very accommodating to us having to check in early and check out really early too.
Reached HK early and could only check in at 10AM but since we reached at 8am or so, Mart provided his own apartment for us to rest and leave our luggage there till Shella came over at 10AM and brought us over to the Bijou Apartment.
Location is really convenient, being really close to the MTR, supermarket and lots of eateries/restaurants within walking distance.
The apartment is really cosy with great view of the area since it's at the 27th storey, just like the photos provided. Well equipped with all necessities, bed were comfy and all were good except the shower system which was a little frustrating. Other than that, everything else was great!
Great stay in Hong Kong! :)
El apartamento tenia una vistas excelentes .
Bien equipado y comodo.
Nos sentimos muy bien acomodados.
Es tal y como se ve en la fotos y nos sentimos como en nuestra casa en HK.
Mart was very efficient in communication and providing all the information we needed to enjoy a great time in HK. The apt is compact, with exceptional views of the area and in an ideal location in Kowloon with the MTR, supermarket and market so handy. Mart also provided a great guide to local restaurants & other insights when we met. The apt is a little tired and some improvements in cleaning would not go astray. The shower system is frustrating & hot water is short lived. It would be great if some basics like tea bags, coffee and milk were provided ( the coffee in the cupboard was rock hard)
It was our first visit in Hong Kong and we really enjoyed it! I didn't have the chance to meet Mart as he was busy, but his friend Shella welcomed us and guided us into the flat. Mart was also very great in communicating and all happened very smoothly.
The flat itself is great, tiny but cute, with a wonderful view! I just wished the flat to be more furnished, as it feels a bit empty, but apart that it's very well located in the Mong kok area, close to night temple market. I highly recommend :)
Very convenient, cosy and nice place to stay in. Beautiful view to start and end your day with. :)
