About This Listing
Cannot be understated: this casita is smack dab in the center of town, you'll never, ever need your car to explore the town of Marfa. The house is bright, cheery, mostly white with pops of bright color. I love my little house and know you will too. The queen bed sleeps two and the there is also a full-size futon. BTW, I used to have my cat stay at the house but not anymore. The house is PET FREE now. Thx!
As my guest, you have access to the whole house with all kitchen amenities and fresh linens and towels.
During your stay I will not be present but I have arranged for someone to help you out if you need anything at all.
Marfa is small, only two miles wide so it's easy to explore the whole town. Just up the street are the Chinati Foundation and El Cosmico; directly by the house are Cochineal and Planet Marfa; and it's a three minute walk to Maiya's, the courthouse, Judd Foundation, Marfa Book Co., and more.
Biking and walking is all you need to get around in Marfa. But don't forget to take in the gorgeous scenery of local road trips!
No smoking. Check in at 3. Check out at noon. Please provide your own liquor/beer. Please tidy up kitchen/bath before you leave. No large parties. (Dinner parties are fine.)
The good: House is in a great location and has a well equipped kitchen and spacious living area.
The not so good: Kitchen was dirty, especially cabinets and refrigerator. Long expired food, spices and milk (a year old!) were off putting. Fans inside the house did not work, even after calling property manager which made things very sweaty in the summer sun.
Marfa Casita is a cozy and clean place to hang your boots for a few days. There were lots of blankets and pillows and coffee for us in the morning. You can't beat the location either!
The house is centrally located, really cute, and a lot larger than the pictures show. The bed was really comfy, and the kitchen was amazing. Paige was a great host who left us a lot of information about the house, as we'll as things to do in Marfa. I would stay here again.
The casita is nice. It is in a great location. I kind of wish we had an extra day in Marfa to run around more.
The only complaint I have is about the front door. The lock doesn't work well. After locking, it's impossible to open unless you know a trick. And because of that we were late for the McDonald Observatory Star Party.
