  • Soundscapes

Your new local record store. They also sell tickets for shows if you want to see live music without paying ticketmasters convenience fees.
College St Toronto ON M6G 1B3
  • College (email hidden)

Closest streetcar stop. The streetcar will take you all the way across town, and stops off at the Queens Park and College subway stations.
  • Golden Wheat Bakery & Pastry

Italian/ Portuguese bakery. Try the custard tarts!
College St Toronto ON M6G 1B8
  • Kalendar

A slightly nicer restaurant, it consistently makes best date night restaurant lists. Also has a patio in the summer.
College Street Toronto ON M6G 1A6
  • LCBO

You can only buy alcoholic drinks from a couple retailers in Ontario. The LCBO is government owned and has wine, liquors, and craft beers.
College Street Toronto ON M6G 1A9
  • June Records

Another newer local record store. Why do I recommend it? Mainly because they have a shop dog. Every store should have a shop dog.
College St Toronto ON M6G 1B8
  • Empire Espresso

Cute little coffee bar on College street
College St Toronto ON M6G 1B9
  • Bitondo Pizzeria

If you want to eat a deliciously greasy panzerotti off a paper plate in an Italian hole in the wall that has been around for generations... this is the place. They also have pizza and olives.
Clinton St Toronto ON M6J 2P1
  • College Fruit Market

Fruit and vegetable market if you feel like supporting local business. Also its slightly closer than the grocery store.
    682 College Toronto ON M6G 1C1

Great for gelato in the summer or brunch all year round. Big patio in the summer.
    College Street Toronto ON M6G
  • Metro

Closest grocery store, it is open 24 hours. There are also a couple fruit and vegetable markets as well as a deli and a bakery nearby
    College St Toronto Ontario M6G
  • Smoke's Poutinerie

If trying poutine is on your list of Canadian experiences, look no further than Smokes on College. Classic poutine as well as a whole menu of new twists on an old idea. Vegetarian options as well.

  • Nirvana

Restaurant during the day, bar at night. Cheap, decent food and daily drink specials but occasionally slow service.
College St Toronto ON M5T 1T3
  • Beer Store

You can only buy alcoholic drinks from a few retailers in Ontario. The Beer Store sells beer. If youre looking for local breweries or craft beer though the LCBO might be a better option.
Bathurst Street Toronto ON M5T 2S9
  • Aunties and Uncles

One of Torontos favourite brunch spots, theres often a line on weekends. Quite small despite being two floors. The kitchen is open to the restaurant, kind of a bohemian cottage from the 50s vibe.
Lippincott Street Toronto ON M5S 2P1
  • The Roxton

Cozy local restaurant/ bar with good food and $5 drink specials on Sunday. Sometimes they have live music, and theres a patio in the summer.
Harbord Street Toronto ON M6G 1H8
  • Clinton's

Live music and dance nights in the back, pub food with vegetarian options up front. Patio in the summer because Toronto loves patios!

  • Christie Station - Eastbound Platform

Closest subway stop, about a ten minute walk from the house
  • Trinity Bellwoods Park

A hugely popular place in the summer. Come here to watch baseball or bocce ball or just to see the hipsters of Toronto in their natural habitat. Sometimes there are outdoor plays.
    Toronto Ontario
  • Kensington Market

Lots of small shops and cafés, the streets are often closed in the summer months for Pedestrian Sundays. Best seen on the weekend or in the afternoon, most shops open around 10 or 11 and close at 6
Kensington Ave Toronto ON M5T 2K2
  • Sud Forno

Apparently this place has good food, Ive only ever had their nutella filled sugar donuts, but I will happily write a five star review on that alone!
Queen Street West Toronto ON M6J 1E8
  • 198 Walnut Ave

Trinity Tuck Shop has everything you need for a summer day in the park from popsicles to tennis raquet rentals. Packed a picnic but forgot a blanket? They rent those too.

If you want postcards or cheap vegetables this is where its at! Also lots of Chinese restaurants of course.

    Front St W Toronto Ontario M5V 2T6
  • Ripley's Aquarium of Canada

I confess I havent been here yet but everyone I know who has gone loved it. This includes parents of three year olds and cynical twenty-somethings, so clearly theres something for everyone.

Queens Quay West Toronto ON M5J 2G8

High Park is beautiful, especially if you happen to be here when the cherry trees are blooming. Theres a café and a tiny zoo, and Shakespeare in the park runs most evenings in the summer.
