About this listing
This cozy bedroom is located on a quiet side street just half a block from the restaurants and nightlife of College Street. Walk to Kensington Market or Queen West or catch the convenient College streetcar and take transit to anywhere in the city!
This is a cozy bedroom in a three bedroom house on a quiet side street in Little Italy. It's simply furnished with a twin bed, dresser, and bedside table.
Guests will have access to the living room and kitchen. The living room is cozy and there's a huge farmhouse style kitchen with lots of counter space and seating. You are welcome to use the stove and fridge; there is a grocery store just a few minutes down the road.
Interaction with Guests
I can help you out with any questions you have during your stay, and I am happy to chat whenever I'm home. I do work and have other commitments though, so I may not be around 24/7. You can always reach me by phone if you need me!
Little Italy is a neighborhood with something for everyone. College street is full of great restaurants and bars, a busy place on weekends. There are also independent coffee shops and record stores as well as lots of parks and green space. Everything is within walking distance: bakeries, vegetable markets, a 24 hour grocery store, a pharmacy, and the LCBO (province run liquor store).
Try Kalendar for a nice but still affordable meal, or Utopia for generous portions and comfort food. Browse Soundscapes or June Records or get a coffee at Empire or Sam Jones.
The college streetcar is one minute down the street, it runs from High Park all the way through downtown and into the east end, hitting two subway stops on the way. Alternatively, you can walk up to Christie station, 10-15 minutes away, and take the subway. There are also bike lanes along much of College St, so biking to Kensington Market, Chinatown, or U of T is a breeze. We can probably even arrange a bike for you if you're interested!
Other Things to Note
I love having guests, however please keep in mind when making a reservation request that I require a profile, reviews, and/ or a message from you that gives me an idea of who you are.
There is also a dog in the house, you won't see much of her but if you have bad allergies it might not make for the most enjoyable stay!
It's pretty laid back but I do have a couple requests. No smoking in the house (there's a balcony off of the room that you are welcome to use), and no guests without clearing it with me first. The room really is priced for just one person but if you want to have a quick beer with a friend at home before going out... we can probably work something out. Otherwise I just ask common sense stuff: clean up after yourself and keep it down when other people are sleeping.
I had a really good time in Toronto and Megan's place is perfectly located to explore the city! The bedroom itself is not big but definitely enough for me and offers access to a private terrasse to enjoy the sun :) However the bed is not too comfortable... Overall, it's a great place to stay!
Megan is really flexible about arriving and leaving time (both for coming and leaving) The apartment was a nice place and the room has some lovely interior.
There are many nice bars and restaurants close by and the street car station is just a short walk away.
Megan was a great host, very welcoming and we had some great chats. Whenever I needed help she was always willing to give whatever info she could (which was always helpful information).
I felt at home pretty much straight away.
Recommend this place to everyone, especially if you're on an IEC visa whilst looking for a place. The area is perfect, good shops/restaurants/bars etc.
Megan is a really nice host and her place is absolutely amazing! The location is the best if you want to see where locals hang out on the weekend since it's very hip neighborhood where many bars and restaurants are located. Rooms are clean and cozy. Highly recommended!
Megan was really nice and responsive. Her place is in an amazing location in a really cool neighbourhood and the small room is perfect for someone who is literally looking to rest their head somewhere. The door to the small room does not lock and Megan does rent out a larger room right across the hall. The bed was not the most comfortable, and the house is definitely very tired and worn down. But, for the price I paid and what I needed it was perfect!
Megan was very nice and accommodating, especially at checkout when I changed my departure time to leave early in the morning. The room was nice and being able to watch/listen to the rain from the balcony was the best. The neighborhood was cute and she is very close to public transportation which allowed me to go explore all of Toronto with ease and speed...had a nice time :)
Cute little nook with a comfy bed in Megan's lovely house in a fun part of the world. Great value for money and a warm welcome from a great host. This is what AirBnB is all about!

About the Host, Megan
I grew up just outside of Toronto and have lived downtown for 8 years off and on in various neighborhoods. I've also spent time in France, Montreal, and Guatemala, but there are so many more places to see!
