Normally $110 per night, discounted to $90 for the last two weeks in April.
The Mermaid Room is in a three bedroom house we call the Bicycle Inn. It is a private room that shares a bathroom in the hallway with one other room called the Blue Room. Great kitchen and living room for all three rooms to use. Great location to see the entire island in day trips as centrally located as you can be on Maui. Near all the north shore beaches, only a couple of houses back from the beach at mamas fish house, and a couple blocks from the famous windsurf and surf beach hookipa beach park. Great for renters on a budget. This house is near the hana highway, a two lane road that runs along the coast line. A small portion of our guests tell me they think I should mention this. Most people are not bothered at all by the road.
If you are booking during the holiday time between December 20th and January 4th we need a minimum of seven nights or we will not accept your reservation.
The reservation was canceled 3 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The place is decent and good value for the price. It's is an excellent starting location for bike rides up to Haleakala and the Road to Hana. Furthermore, it's just a 10-15min walk to the famous Ho'okipa Beach.
I enjoyed staying at the Bicycle Inn near Paia. There are 3 bedrooms in the apartment and the "Mermaid Room" is where I've stayed. The apartment location was perfect for me as it is close to the Hanna Hwy. and was a great starting location for my cycling trips. The apartment is also very close to a beautiful beach and one of the best restaurants on Maui, - The Mama's Fish House. The Internet access / wifi - was quite fast and an important part of my stay as I had my laptop and work with me. The apartment is spacious, with a nice walk-out deck. Kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of dishes, cups, microwave and everything one may require. Very few minor issues during my stay with washing machine which were very promptly addressed by Poni. During my stay at the Bicycle Inn I had an opportunity to share the apartment with a few other people all of whom were super friendly and fun. I'd highly recommend the Bicycle Inn to anyone looking for a an excellent location in Maui. I loved it and would definitely come back here again!
We enjoyed our stay at the Bicycle Inn. The living area incl. kitchen is big, bright and appealing. There was enough kitchenware, some items were not the newest. If you are a light sleeper you might be disturbed by the street. There is a lot of traffic. To us it didn't bother. We had no car and walked into town in 20 minutes and in 10 minutes to Hookipa Beach. Megan was very helpful and always there for us if we needed something.
Me and my friend enjoyed our stay at the bicycle inn that is located on the second floor of a house 1.5 miles outside Maui´s "hippie" town Paia. The rooms are just big enough for two persons but we spend a lot time in the living room. First we were alone, then one guy arrived and one day later another girl. With other guests, it feels more like living community what is nice if you get along very well what we did. The location in Paia is perfect to explore the island as it is in the center of Maui but in walking distance to the ocean.
Nice place, unfortunately on a main road thefore a little noisy sometimes. I never met Poni during the stay in person but she organzied everything professionally.
THis FLAT war really Really Beautiful and Nice!!
Paia is very Beautiful and not so many Tourists are there. I liked it a lot.
I havent the Possibility to meet PONI Personal.
But it was really Nice to meet her.. She was really Nice and answered all my Questions directly.
At least when you want to get her Apartment you need a CAR.
Krista & I stayed one night in the Mermaid room. Poni was great at pre-arranging everything with us & our stay was seamless.
We where the only ones in the whole place (other two rooms were empty) so we had the living space & bathroom to ourselves.
The location was great, a short walk to Mamas Fish House where we had a great dinner.
The Bicycle Inn is an older style place but is nice & clean with a good sized outdoor area, well organised with great Wifi, plenty of towels, nice sized kitchen, tea making facilities etc.
Location is close to the Hana Highway but the Bicycle Inn is on the coast side of the building, orientated away from the road. Road noise is audible but this wasn't a problem for us, we slept like babies.
Thanks very much Poni, we'll stay again next time.
We didn't end up staying in this particular house/room- Poni moved us to another room/house. She gave good directions but when we arrived we were unsure if we were at the right house as it was signed different to the name she had given us. After that confusion it was a great place to stay for day trips to Haleakala. The place was pretty clean and had just about all we needed. It is not a city place so if you don't like bugs and get scared off by cockroaches it may not be for you!
The place was very clean and cozy tucked away in Paia neighborhood, quite close to drive to town and a 5 minute walk from a beach. Check-in and check-out were easy. Would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a little privacy!
