This is, to individuals who made two reservations with us. If you are in this situation, please feel confident to inquire. We'll gladly ask you to bring your bags into our storage place (at our house) and to pick your bags up (from our house) upon returning.

IMPORTANT We ask that you notify us of your arrival time prior to the day when your reservation starts. Remember we do not have a front desk where you could just arrive and find someone at any time. To provide you with the best service and to avoid potential inconveniences we ask that you provide an arrival time so we can provide instructions, coordinate your pick up from the airport (optional) and be in front of the apartment or at our house when you get there.
To coordinate your pick up from the airport (only) we'll need your flight information \airline name, flight number and arrival time in Cusco. We will then send a driver with a sign on hand to meet you at the airport. Please inquire if interested.

Cusco is a very cosmopolitan city full of tourism. However, the neighborhood in which the duplex is located has the local flavor and tranquility the center of town has already lost. Neither too far away from the Main Square (only 5 blocks walking distance /10 to 15 minutes), and neither too closed that you won't be able to sleep with all the activity and noise beating all night.
Only three blocks down the street is one of our favorite coffee shops, La Valeriana. It is open early for breakfast and lunch, and close late for dinner or supper. This is an inexpensive place where you won't feel rush. Wi-Fi is available.
Supermarkets are right outside the entrance gate

Feel like a local as you wander through the streets of Pavitos, Tres Cruces or along Avenida Grau. I'll share more of my favorites places and routes when you get here.

Cusco is not a tremendously big city that you need to take a taxi to be somewhere. Everything (almost everything) could be done by walking. But taxis in the city and around are not expensive, an excerpt from the airport, there are quite cheap.

The city is also full of buses, but I would not recommend them. They are usually crowded and you expose yourself to pickpockets.

Please note the following;

CHECK IN TIME: STARTS AT 12PM. Early check in may be available so please inquire. If it is not, you are welcome to drop your bags at my house, which is literally right across the apartment- and come back later.

CHECK OUT TIME: ENDS AT 10AM. If you are taking a late flight or a bus that usually leaves at night please let me know. You still need to empty the apartment by 10am, but could drop your bags at the storage room in my house and pick them up at an accorded time.

PICK UP FROM THE AIRPORT as a courtesy to our guests. We can coordinate your PICK UP from the airport (only). Simply request it after making your reservation by providing the following information to us.
(1) Flight company, (2) Flight number, and (3) Exact time of arrival into Cusco airport.
We will send our driver to meet you and bring you to your apartment. Our driver will be carrying a sign with your name on it. Simply look for your name after picking up your bags and exiting the airport.

Our driver's car is good for up to 4 people with regular bags *. If your group exceed 4 you will need a second car. We will arrange this service for you but you will have to pay for this extra car. The cost will be 20 soles, which is cheaper than if you were to hire a taxi from the airport on your own. Please inquire !

CURRENCY and EXCHANGE RATE The currency in Peru is EL NUEVO SOL. The exchange rate is approximately USD 1= S/. 3.20) If you bring American dollars or Euros, do not exchange them in airports or banks. Their exchange rate will be lower of what you could get in the streets, here in Cusco. However, and this is important, if you bring US dollars, make sure you bring NEW BILLS. All damaged or broken bills won't be accepted in Cusco.

Guest access

This is an entire two-floor apartment just for you.

After a long trek on the Inca Trail you just want a warm shower and comfy bed - this house was perfect! It has a cabin feeling, which was warm and cozy. The home was clean and offered two full bathrooms. It may seem out of the city center but truly was walkable. It's also easy to catch a taxi or Uber. Monica was very helpful and welcoming. She provided us great tips on where to eat and was honest on the quality of food. She helped us set up taxi's to the airport for an early 6am flight. She also allowed us to store our luggage when we wanted to head to the city after check-out = great service! Overall, we had a great stay!

Excellent, excellent, excellent. Monica was a fantastic host and the house was clean, had hot water for our traveling party of 7 and wifi better than at home, a rarity while traveling in Peru. Monica was on the spot with her advice and was flexible with arrangements as we did a four day adventure tour between stays. The apartment was a bit chilly on the cold Cusco nights, but the blankets on all the beds kept you toasty and comfortable. Definitely recommend Monica for those staying in Cusco. The apartment is secluded yet within a 15 minute walk of downtown exploring.

Monica was great! Her house was clean, comfortable, and had all the modern amenities (hot water, wifi). She even provided fire wood for the chimney which was a nice surprise! The location is a 10-15 minute walk or a quick taxi ride to everywhere you need to go. To top it all off, when we left to the jungle for 5 days she held our luggage for us! Will definetly stay there again when I return next year!

The house is great. She herself isn't great. Immediately after I reserved and paid for the airbnb, she asks me what time I will check in. That's fine, but before I even have a chance to answer, she messages me "if you will check in late, then this airbnb is not for you" which made me immediately feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. For being a psychology major, she does not know how to treat people. This was without me having messaged her any time details. When I booked my train ticket back from Machu picchu, I told her the time for that booking. But she went ahead and calculated my arrival time to Cusco. Which I trusted. I never agreed to be there at that time. I thought I would arrive at her calculated time, but I was wrong. There was a delay with the collectivo, and we stopped to eat lunch. Being tourists, we didn't have any cell access. I was worried and wanted to keep her updated, but there was no way to communicate the delay caused from the collectivo. When arrived to the airbnb, she immediately started saying how I did not arrive at the scheduled time, she is the one who said that time, and I did not know that there would be time issues with collectivo. To make this short, I think the house was good. Clean. Very cold but many blankets. But this does not make up for how I was treated, without being my fault. I told her mytrain time as soon as I had the details. I don't recommend this airbnb unless you can communicate with her, because she will not make you feel comfortable. I regret booking with her, because she kept insulting me directly "some people think they can walk in here like a hotel" without knowing that I was trying to get to her place as fast as I could.

Response from Monica Patricia:
Joseph, I started reading your comments but declined to read it fully simply because there I found no point in reliving my interaction with you. You were very inconsiderate from the start and extremely arrogant since the beginning. Asking your arrival time is a necessary thing in case you have not noticed it. We do not have a 24-hours reception desk and neither we can afford to have someone at the door of our apartments waiting for hour that guests show up. Take this into account in your future reservations so there is less hassle from your part to potential futur host.

I travelled to Cusco with my mother & brother and stayed at Monica's property for a total of 5 nights. We stayed in both unit 1 & 2 and while both units are pretty similar we just preferred unit 1. Monica is the perfect hostess- she arranged transport to & from the airport as well as a day tour of the Sacred Valley for us. She met us upon arrival (at 5AM!!) and provided a very complete overview of the apartment and area. Even giving us a map with markets, laundry and restaurants noted. We were in Cusco to do the Inca Trail and Monica kept our luggage safe and free of charge. She even had it waiting in the apartment on our return :) If I'm ever in Cusco again I'll stay with Monica for sure!!
