I live right across the apartments, right outside the condominium. So If your ran into an emergency, or need my assistance with your travel plans, need a taxi or more wood, I am right there. And since you will be provided with my personal local phone for immediate texts or calls, I am reachable right away when not in my house. I do like to interact with my guests when possible but travelers are mostly busy most of the time, visiting archeological sites or enjoying the large and diverse variety of restaurants outside. Besides I have a clear understanding of people’s privacy so I often greet my guests upon arrival and say goodbye to them on check out day. I have had so many great experiences and I love what I do. Talking to me or finding me at my house won’t be a problem.

Monica was a wondeful host! She was quick to respond to any questions both before and when we arrived in Cusco. She had a driver meet us at the airport and then was at the apartment when we arrived to hand over the keys and walk us through the details of the apartment. She also had a hand drawn map of the area and a guide book with a list of recommendations from the other travelers. She was also very help when we had trouble contacting our trekking company and stored our bags during our trek.
The apartment itself was charming, with two bathrooms and two bedrooms. Monica had an extra bed put into one of the rooms for us. The apartment was a 10 minute walk to the main plaza and near some grocery stores. I would definitely recommend staying at one of Monica's properties.
Whenever we are travelling we hope to have an 'experience', Monica Patricia's place absolutely provides that! The apartment is everything it promises and more...
First off as a host, Monica goes above and beyond. I've been known to over communicate, I'm pretty sure I sent 5-6 emails a day, three days prior to our arriving in Cusco. Monica answered everyone of them and never made me feel like I was intruding. She provides a detailed map of how to get around the city, as well as a binder of places she recommends to eat and get laundry done.
The laundry service she recommends may be some of the best money I ever spent! A restaurant she recommends, La Bodega 138, provided a delicious break from running around Cusco, great wine and tapas.
Monica also, and I'm so grateful to her for this, communicated with our taxi drivers from the train station and to the airport, as neither one of us speaks Spanish.
I wish we had had more time in Cusco to have taken Monica to dinner, she is so charming and captivating, I wanted to know more about her!
The apartment itself is wonderful! Even our Jungle tour guide, who came to the apartment to give us our briefing on our tour, commented on how 'awesome' the apartment is. He said he quite often meets his tour guests at generic/commercial hotel rooms. Monica's place is far from generic, it's just lovely and full of local and true Peruvian charm.
It' not a far walk to local grocery stores to get water and snacks, and of course some wine or Pisco. In the mornings I'd take my coffee or Coca tea, both of which Monica provides, and sit in the courtyard of the apartment complex. The courtyard is brilliant! We'd also sit out there at night with our wine and just enjoy the surroundings.
It was always so nice to come back to the apartment, after a day in busy Cusco, and unwind in our very own sanctuary. Not a stuffy hotel with a bunch of other people. We had our own private world!
I highly recommend staying at one of Monica's apartments, when in Cusco, you won't regret it. It's not far from the Plaza del Armas, a 10 minute walk. Crossing over the bridge, if you are lucky, like we were, you'll get to see the local market in the morning. This is not your typical farmer's market!
All in all, our time in Cusco was magical! An experience, I'll never forget, thanks to the exceptional lodging, it's really like a cottage, and the helpfulness of our host.
Thank you so much, Monica! If you ever make it to Austin, Texas; we'd love to return the hospitality!
This was a great place to stay in Cusco. It was in a great location with in walking distance of the historic downtown area. The host made us feel very welcome. She went to the trouble to make arrangements for a cab driver to pick us up at the train station and to take us to the airport as well. She had put together a great little booklet with a very helpful map of the area listing locations for grocery stores, banks, restaurants, etc. Her cottage was very comfortable and was also well stocked with things we would need while there. I especially appreciated her having a little coffee on hand for that first morning when we had not had time to go to the store yet. I highly recommend this location for rent for anyone going to Cosco.
Monica's apartments are lovely and very near the central square (but away from the bussle). They were very clean, with nice details, comfy beds, and warm blankets. She has everything set up to help guests better explore Cusco and was able to make some great recommendations to us about what to do. She connected us with an excellent tour of the Sacred Valley. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend that others do so as well.
First time using Airbnb and Monica made it beyond a wonderful experience. She made us feel so welcome and was so helpful in any and all ways. Monica went above and beyond to help us plan our day trips and make sure everything went off without a hitch! Even making sure I didn't miss my flight on my last day... as I slept in. The cottage is cozy and clean and close to everything. Lots of space and having the kitchen to make snacks or breakfast was perfect! I can not say enough great things about my experience and I will definitely be back... and I now consider Monica a friend... which is the best part about the whole thing!
