Whole home rental in excellent location and close to everything!

Let our Casa be your Casa.

Our home for rent in San Miguel is only blocks away from La Parroquia and the Jardin. Importantly, the four blocks are not straight up a sharp hill! We have had guests of all ages (1-76) stay and they all found the walk easy. Even better, this close proximity is yours without having to endure the noisy night activity often found in the Centro. Our home, as can be seen on the attached map, is on a short one-way alley off of Umaran with only 5 residences. That means the street gets little traffic and noise but is close to everything and safe.

The home is perfect for couples due to the romantic master suite and sweeping views of San Miguel. We recently completed a remodel of the master bath to add a glass-enclosed soaking tub allowing you to soak while sipping wine (or tequila!) and gazing at the stars. The house is also perfect for families due to the many separate sleeping areas and bathroom facilities, and laundry.

It is an extremely comfortable three-story home broken down as follows--

Roof level: Master suite with full bath and tub and spectacular terrace for outdoor living. Fully furnished bedroom with boveda (arched brick ceiling), 22" flat panel TV, DVD player and DISH satellite TV w/HBO, double bed, nightstands, alarm clock/ipod dock. Romantic gas fireplace. Outdoor table with seating for 4, along with Zero Gravity lounger.

Second Floor: Bedroom, sleeping den, and Full bath. Bedroom with double bed adjoins to full bath and has a gas fireplace. Sleeping den has bunk bed with double bed on bottom and twin on top. Desk and chair.

Main Floor: Large gas Fireplace, Couch, Two Armchairs, Dining Table with seating for 4, Laundry, Stocked Kitchen with built-in gas stove and oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, blender, toaster, coffeemaker, 42" Flat-Panel TV, DISH satellite TV, CD stereo, IPOD dock, region-free DVD player, and 1/2 Bath.

Connecting all floors is truly the most unique stairway you will see in San Miguel. Saltillo and talavera tiles and arches throughout add traditional charm.

Amenities: DISH satellite TV; WIFI throught house if you need to work, write, or surf; Local telephone; Magic Jack with unlimited US and Canada calls; Full Washer and Dryer; (Kids) Games. All linens, including plush towels. There is also a high chair and crib/playpen available on request. Most everything is new!

Fall 2013: We have just completed a full kitchen remodel and it is gorgeous! New stainless steel dishwasher, gas cooktop, built-in oven, and refrigerator. Granite counters, ornate tile backsplash, blue stained cabinets with Moroccan details. You will be more than pleased. We have added pictures but, alas, they do not do the house justice! Feel free to ask any questions if you want further information as to details.

This is a second home for us, hence, we can keep the cost reasonable yet still offer amazing location and comfort. If you decide to rent our home away from home, please let us know what we can do to make your stay more enjoyable or relaxing. We have an amazing housekeeper who can stock the refrigerator, provide more extensive cleaning during your stay, or babysit, upon advance request (for a fee).

We have an oustanding crew, including house manager and housekeeper, ready to greet you and make your stay unforgettable. We look forward to hosting you!
O. and P.

UPDATE: There (email hidden) webcam setup in the Jardin for those who are interested in seeing the goings-on in the main square, El Jardin. The camera is actually facing the street that leads down to our house:

House Rules
Check in is anytime after 2PM

We have tried to provide some comforts in the home that required a significant investment. Thus, we hope our guests are prepared to treat the furnishings and amenities with the respect and care they would treat their own and there is no smoking. A copy of a passport or ID will be made upon check-in and destroyed upon check-out. Also, we do not permit SUBLETTING. Thanks much!

Other than that, there are no rules! Enjoy our home and enjoy San Miguel!

For those who are scheduled to arrive after 10:00pm, there will be a surcharge of $20 as the house manager has children and to ask her to be available late is exceptional. Thanks for your understanding.

Given recent experience, we have to change our cancellation to STRICT. We hate to do it but feel it is necessary to prevent abuse of the policy; especially during the high seasons. Sorry! Thanks for your understanding.

La Casa Nuestra has many positives, and the host, Petrus, is wonderful, but there are issues that potential visitors should be aware of. First, the positives: the house is clean, modern (mostly), and has a quirky, fun style. The pictures in the listing are very accurate. The kitchen and master bedroom especially have wonderful style, and the balcony is awesome. The location is very good. It's maybe a 4-block walk to the main square. (But be aware there is a steep incline on the way there. Walking around could be taxing depending on who's in your group.) There are many restaurants, bars, and cafes within a 2-block walk. Additionally, there are some great perks that are offered: satellite TV with multiple HBO channels, washer and dryer, dishwasher, MagicJack for free calls to the US, and an unlimited supply of filtered water. Last (but not least!) in terms of positives, Petrus does a great job at getting you excited for your trip and providing everything you'd ever want to know about San Miguel. As far as issues, the biggest problem is the hot water supply. My girlfriend and I dreaded taking a shower in the master bedroom, as the water would constantly change from scorching hot to freezing cold. We tried our best to follow instructions to get a constant flow of warm water, but after 6 days we had zero success. There is also little privacy in the master bedroom. The toilet is part of the same room, with just a small wall to block visibility, and the glass shower is completely exposed to anyone who might walk up the steps to visit the top floor (set some rules of you're traveling with small children!). Finally, some of the fixtures really need updating. The shower heads shoot in multiple directions (the issue was so bad in the guest shower that the bathroom was flooded on several occasions) and the faucet in the master bedroom is pretty corroded. Overall my group enjoyed our stay in La Casa Nuestra, and I would recommend it to most travelers.

This is the best Airbnb experience I have had. The host was incredible going out of his way to contact me and give me some amazing recommendations that all turned out to exceed our expectations. The house was spacious and wonderfully distributed with a great house manager who greeted us and was also available for any questions. This is the best place to stay in San Miguel!! Thank you so much

We had a wonderful stay in Casa Nuestra; the house is quite lovely, comfortable and conveniently located to everything in downtown SMA. The four of us had plenty of privacy with bedrooms on separate levels; we made good use of the updated kitchen and rooftop terrace. Petrus is an extraordinary host; he contacted me prior to our visit with many great ideas for sights to see, restaurants, cafes and shopping in the area. In addition, he contacted me during our stay to check in. I would highly recommend Casa Nuestra!

Location! Location! Location! Also, a lot of house for your buck. This quaint home is very centrally located! It was a few blocks walk to the famous Jardin. The house is decorated with a lot of local artifacts. Lots of color. The kitchen had all of the essential supplies for cooking at home. We made breakfast at the house daily and shopped for our food at the local San Juan de dios market that is also close in proximity. The floor plan was very accommodating to our needs. Our kids took the second floor and had their own rooms and we took the master bedroom that is on the 3rd floor and very quiet. There is a door that can close you off to the house if you prefer. Everything was very clean. We were impressed. We come to San Miguel a lot and we would stay here again and again. The minute we booked we started hearing from Onika and Petrus. They checked to make sure we were arriving safely and to make sure the house manager, Jessica was set up to show us the house and all of the amenities. I thought it was really sweet of Petrus to call us the day before we left to make sure we had a great trip home and to thank us for choosing their house. It is truly a gem in the beautiful town of San Miguel de Allende.

We stayed for a month in this perfectly located house. It is within walking distance of the city center, shops, restaurants, a wonderful market, a yoga studio, a language school, really everything you could want or need in San Miguel. Petrus, the owner, could not have been more helpful and responsive.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 weeks. We felt there were many positives, but as good Airbnbers, we wanted to list a few things that warrant further consideration. Essentially, there are 3 positive things about Casa that make it a good choice: 1) Like many reviewers have stated, it is well located. We only had to walk a short distance before we were in the center, the Jardine. 2) Since it’s on a side street, it is relatively quiet. 3) The owner was quick to respond to the couple issues that arose. For example, we had a clogged sink. He called the necessary people, and they came quickly. Here are the things that need to be considered if one wants to stay for an extended period of time: 1) The living room furniture was somewhat dirty and uncomfortable to sit in; it needs upgrading. 2) The bathroom fixtures are corroding and need replacement. 3) The beds are smaller than Queen-sized, so a couple that likes to sleep together might not be comfortable in either bed. 4) There is a “funky” element to the general layout. For example, the 3rd floor bedroom/bathroom is disconnected with rest of the house; one needs to go on to the rooftop terrace to access it. We enjoyed our stay in San Miguel de Allende. It is a great little city in which to walk and wander, eat and drink, and to enjoy the Mexican culture. When the owner fixes some of the issues discussed, Casa will be a perfect place in which to stay.
