Boutique Chic 2, 10min Temple Bar!

House - Entire home/apt · Blackhorse Avenue, Dublin, Dublin, Ireland

Warm, inviting, comfortable and extremely spacious 3-storey home, 15 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from city centre. Full of character and charm, this property has all the style of a boutique hotel, combined with every home comfort you could wish for! You'll have the best of both worlds here - we're close to the buzz and excitement of town, yet overlooking the beauty and tranquility of the amazing Phoenix Park.

There are 4 bedrooms, each with their own quirky style, and a further large sofabed in the upstairs living-room, sleeping 10-12 in total. (3 x large double bedrooms, 1 single bedroom with extra fold-out bed, and 2 x double sofabeds in upstairs living room). 3 bathrooms, which include two showers and one bath, make it so much easier for everyone to get ready to go out - especially if there are one or two 'bathroom-hoggers' in your group! ;-) Large kitchen/dining /living area (with all mod cons) for you to enjoy - plenty of seating to eat in comfort and chill out on the sofa after your meal.

There really is something for everyone here - you'll find that there are 'girl zones' and boy zones' - reflected in the decor! Over the 3 floors, there is ample space for even large groups/families to enjoy plenty of privacy; flat-screen tvs; free wi-fi, I-pod dock and charger; loan of Irish mobile phone; PS3; electric guitar, books for all ages - even a poker table and chips for those who fancy a game of cards.. ;-)

You'll enjoy gorgeous views of the park from the balcony and from most rooms in the house. In the park itself, there is a Visitor Centre, playgrounds, fantastic nature walks and of course, Dublin Zoo. At certain times of year, if you're up at daybreak, you can sometimes even see the deer who live in the park playing directly beneath the balcony.

Within 3 -10 minutes walk, you have several fantastic bars and restaurants, including the closest one to us - and the jewel in the crown - The Hole In The Wall pub and restaurant. If you're looking to experience a REAL Irish pub, then this is it! (Check out my reviews to see what previous guests have to say about this place - they all LOVE it). Amazing food, fantastic live music, great craic, wonderful company - and of course, the BEST pint of Guinness you'll ever taste! Right now, it's all decorated for Christmas and has been transformed into a magical winter wonderland. A must-see!

I have a couple of lovely local taxi drivers who look after all my guests with the best fares in Dublin - they're so good, they've also been mentioned in several of my reviews! Airport transfers can be arranged and the guys will be on hand to whizz you anywhere you'd like to go during your stay - for example, they'll have you in Temple Bar/city centre in approx 10 mins for around the same cost as a bus fare! However, should you wish to use the train or bus, we're also very close to excellent transport links, which will give you easy access to anywhere in Dublin that your heart desires, from the beautiful, quaint Malahide Village (and Castle) to the ever-popular seaside resort of Bray. All the major tourist attractions are very easily accessible from here and I'm happy to give insider advice on all the best places to go - as well as one or two to avoid! ;-)

No need to go to the hassle of trying to fit all your toiletries and goodies into one of those teensy little plastic bags they expect you to squeeze everything into at the airport either - we'll provide everything you could need - shampoos, conditioners, shower gels. hair products, toothpaste, deoderants etc - so just pack your toothbrush and your favourite perfume/aftershave and away you go... ;-) And of course, hair-dryer and straighteners will be available for your use also.

Travel cot, high chair and stroller can be provided upon request, at no extra charge.

  • Susan was such a wonderful host! She was amazing at communicating with us and answering all our questions prior to the trip and made sure to check in on us during our stay to be sure we had everything. Two of our guests had to extend their stay one night and she was quick to help them out! I could not have asked for a better experience. It made our trip so unique and different and we loved having the place to ourselves. We had a group of 10 girls and this was truly the best accommodation for such a large group. Everything she includes in her accommodation notes were provided and then some. She even got birthday decorations for our friend who celebrated her birthday there that week. I would highly recommend this place! Susan and the apartment are so great!

  • I stayed here with 5 friends in March and had such a fantastic time. Its an absolutely amazing house in a perfect location! Susan was so helpful and could not do enough for us. Susan arranged the lovely Robbie to pick us up from the airport and gave us so many recommendations on places which we should visit, all of which were spot on! The house is so comfortable and has everything you could possibly need in there. The house was so clean and tidy when we entered and felt so homely. Susan had stocked up the fridge with breakfast for us all and left us wine and food! Susan really had considered everything to make sure staying in this house is perfect. It really is 100 times better than staying in any hotel. Would recommend this to anyone, its perfect. We will defiantly be returning in the near future. Cant thank you enough Susan!

  • We travelled to Dublin for the Six Nations Rugby a group of 5 girls for three days. The house was ideal and great for large groups and it has everything and more that you could want. Although slightly outside the city it is based just by Phoenix Park which is lovely for walking around (or jogging if your feeling energetic) and is where Dublin Zoo is located. It only took 30minutes to stroll through the park to get to the city centre.

However, if you dont fancy a walk Susan has the two nicest and friendliest taxi drivers, Jimmy and Robbie, who will be on hand for anything you require and they couldn't do enough for us from picking us up at the airport - dropping us back and running us around (he even found us an extra ticket for the rugby as we were one short). It worked out about 12 euros for a taxi from Temple bar for 4 people.

The house itself had plenty of room with three double beds, 1 single and then space in the living rooms for sofa beds extra if required. We arrived and Susan's hospitality was fantastic providing us with plenty of food for breakfast which covered both mornings we were there and also wine and chocolates for our arrival which was most appreciated.

Susan even provides you with all the toiletries, plus hairdryer, straighteners etc. was a god send as travelling with just hand luggage meant we had lots of extra space for clothes and didn't have to worry about all the minature toiletries.

We visited the Hole in the Wall pub on the first night and the food and drink in there was fantastic. Would recommend popping if you get the chance.

  • Susan was really helpful from our first enquiry to the end of our stay. We really enjoyed our time in Dublin and the location of the house worked out well for us. The park next to the house is good for walks and the centre of town is about 15mins swag in a taxi. Thanks for a great stay

  • From booking the property to the end of our stay the process with airbnb and Susan (the property owner) in particular was all so easy and convenient. Susan was incredibly helpful right from the start. There were ten of us staying and she did all she can to help with the organising and even booked us a table for food on the Saturday night.

As for the house itself, Susan contacted me about a week before and offered us her other property next door (referred to as Boutique Chic 2 on the website) as it fit in better with our flight times. This suited as well, as otherwise we would have had to check out a lot earlier on the Sunday. The condition of the house was excellent, all very clean and it was nice that loads of toiletries were provided too.

The city centre isn't really walkable, and a taxi costs about 12 euros. Susan provided us with a couple of contacts for taxis though, and the two guys were amazing! Really lovely blokes who were so helpful, giving us lots of tips and little guided tours on the way in and out of the city.

Pheonix Park is great for a wander too (a long wander as it's absolutely massive), and it's right at the back of the house as well.

Finally, as all of the other reviews have mentioned, the food next door at the Hole in the Wall pub is incredible! Very reasonable prices (a table of ten of us all had at least two courses, a fair few bottles of wine, and it came to around 40 euros each).

I also can't stress enough how helpful Susan was. For the cost of the house between 10 of us we were all extremely impressed and would definitely recommend the house and Susan as a host.

About
Hi there, I'm Susan. I live on the edge of the Phoenix Park, Dublin and couldn't wish for a better place to live. We're close enough to town to enjoy and appreciate everything our city has to offer, yet only have to look out our windows at the glorious park views to feel far removed from the hustle and bustle. I've had wonderful experiences as an AirBnB guest on breaks to cities such as London, New York and Barcelona, and decided it would be fun to try hosting for a change! I believe Dublin is one of the most characterful, vibrant cities in the world and will be more than happy to assist in every way possible to make your visit to our charming city an exciting, effortless, unforgettable experience. ;-)
