Interaction with Guests
I look forward to welcoming you on your arrival and showing you around the house, answering any questions you may have and providing insider tips and information on local sights and amenities. I'll be available by phone, email, text, or Whatsapp for the duration of your stay and hope to make your holiday in Dublin as pleasant and enjoyable as possible.
This is a very safe, friendly area - one of the few remaining genuine old Dublin neighbourhoods still unspoiled by 'progress'. People around here still know each other by name and greet each other in the street with a smile - a rare find in most cities these days!
We're also lucky enough to have the beautiful, tranquil Phoenix Park literally as our back garden, which is the largest enclosed park in Europe and a wonderful space to explore. The deer roam freely here, and you can enjoy an exhilirating run, take in the award-winnning Dublin Zoo, or just relax and watch the world go by over a delicious coffee and cake at the quaint little old Tea Rooms down near the Bandstand. The lovely Royal Canal Walk is just a short stroll away too.
Within 2 -10 minutes walk, we have several fantastic bars and restaurants, including the jewel in the crown - The Hole In The Wall. If it's a REAL traditional Irish pub experience you're after, then this can't be beaten!
The best bit! While there is bus stop about 5 mins walk away, and train at 15 mins, almost all my guests choose instead to avail of my wonderful local taxi drivers - and right-hand men! - Robbie and Jimmy. (See the many glowing mentions they get in my reviews) From airport pick-ups, to short hops into Temple Bar/City Centre, to day-trips out to our beautiful coastal fishing villages such as Howth, Malahide or Dalkey, the guys will be on hand to make getting around Dublin fast, easy, affordable, enjoyable and stress-free. Also, Robbie and Jimmy are the absolute Fonts of All Knowledge on the subjects of places to see and things to do in Dublin, and are happy to offer the best advice and suggestions, specifically tailored to your requirements. Several guests have even remarked that it's like having your own personal tour guides, for a similar cost to public transport - and it's true! The friendly, efficient service they provide my guests in invaluable (and unrivalled!) and a huge perk for anyone who chooses to stay here.

The house was just like the pictures, very nice and lots of space. Susan was an excellent host. From the minute I booked, she was attentive, helpful and full of lots of good suggestions. Taxi service was ace! Jimmy, Robbie and Cormac deserve a medal for running us around ... and ... all the banter (we were a hen). Thanks to you all, you made my Hen weekend very memorable for all the right (website hidden)
Susan was great host I've ever met.
She was enthusiastic and full of passion to help us.
Especially, a lot of guiness beers filled in refrigerator made us happy!
Each of room is clean and beautiful but slightly small than I expected.
Her house has good location.
Brilliant Host , Lovely House, Great Location and nothing was too much trouble. It was also great having Jimmy and Robbie run us about with the taxi service. Thank you very much Susan
Our group of friends had the best time ever in Dublin, and this appartment was a big part of that!! . It's a great location, with one of the best pubs in town right next door. We spend a great night at the Hole in the Wall pub. Although the appartment is not in City Centre, we felt very close to everything. Susan arranged a taxi service for us: Robbie. Robbie picked us up from the airport and drove us anywhere we wanted the rest of the weekend.
Some more: Great park in the backyard, stuffed refrigarator, fully equiped appartment.
Thanks to Susan and Robbie for a great weekend and a warm Irish welcome to Dublin!
We had a fantastic weekend in Dublin. The house was perfect with everything we needed from the stocked fridge to the ps3 for our boys. Robbie and jimmy, the drivers, provided a top drawer service. Meeting robbie was probably the highlight to the weekend for the three kids.
Many thanks to Susan for everything.
This house was perfect for my family reunion! Susan was simply marvelous, making sure we had everything we needed and being in regular contact with me from the moment I made the booking to the day of our departure. The kitchen was stocked with pantry staples and great ingredients for breakfasts, there were plenty of fresh towels (a must when the family reunion includes an infant!), and everyone was comfortable and happy.
The neighborhood, although quite lovely, was a bit further from the center of town than I had thought, but we also had access to Susan's wonderful taxi drivers. For 6 people, they were much cheaper and more convenient than renting a car! Robbie in particular was just grand. My husband kept saying that Robbie alone made the trip 30% better! He was fun, a smooth driver, and knowledgeable about the places we were going to. He just added a lovely spirit to the whole trip.
The location does have its upsides. My Catholic aunt was pleased to find a church within walking distance for morning mass. We all loved having Phoenix Park so near for morning walks. The Hole in the Wall is a great, atmospheric pub within a 2 minute walk. We found a lovely bakery for scones, great restaurants for take out dinners, and a nice coffee shop for an afternoon coffee all within easy walking distance.
After arriving in Dublin late Friday night we couldn't have received a warmer welcome. Susan was at the accommodation to greet us & showed us everything we needed to see & know. The accommodation was perfect for a group of 8...was a good size, lovely decor & had everything we could possibly need. We loved staying here & had a great time...made easier with Susan's help & the use of the local taxi company who ferried us about wherever we wanted to go. Because of this is did not matter that we were not in the heart of Dublin. We would definitely recommend staying here!!

About the Host, Susan
Hi there, I'm Susan. I live on the edge of the Phoenix Park, Dublin and couldn't wish for a better place to live. We're close enough to town to enjoy and appreciate everything our city has to offer, yet only have to look out our windows at the glorious park views to feel far removed from the hustle and bustle. I've had wonderful experiences as an AirBnB guest on breaks to cities such as London, New York and Barcelona, and decided it would be fun to try hosting for a change! I believe Dublin is one of the most characterful, vibrant cities in the world and will be more than happy to assist in every way possible to make your visit to our charming city an exciting, effortless, unforgettable experience. ;-)
