Dehlia was very welcoming and met us at the property at the time we requested to let us in. The property itself was a little disappointing - it was much smaller than we expected from the photos, and quite dark. It was quiet but a little isolated, set just back from the highway. The kitchenette was also very basic, and one of the taps was broken. For what was available, I think this property was overpriced - I expected something larger with more space to cook, eat and relax - this was just a bedroom, a kitchenette-living room and bathroom, and we didn't feel that we wanted to spend any time in the apartment except to sleep. It was adequate but I wouldn't choose it again.
I don't think this review truly represents my property. Perhaps in the winter the suite seems darker because of the weather The appeal of the location is it's serene and removed country spot on Mount Woodside which is still only 15 minutes away from Harrison Hot Springs and in the heart of the world's largest congregation of Eagles and wild salmon species. People from all over the world come here due to it's close proximity to pristine environment, lovely views and convenient location. I guess it all depends on the reason why someone would come here in the first place. As far as the actual suite, if you compare what is available in this area, I feel for the price it is very far from basic and the kitchenette is an added feature that many places don't even have at this price point.
A small and pretty average motel room in a nondescript spot. Unit took a while to warm up in the winter - we could have used extra blankets on the first night. Modest kitchen came in handy, though grocery options in the area were pretty limited.
I myself have seen average hotel rooms when traveling and would have really appreciated finding this little gem of a place. It has a little more personality than most and I have tried to decorate it with a little more individual style and appeal. I personally have never seen a hotel room with an antique queen size brass bed and unique furnishings at this price as my suite has. As far as grocery options, this area is know for it's locally produced food and the Agassiz farm tour with world class options that one does not have to go far to find. The suites are very well insulated and I don't turn the heat on full until someone arrives and I could have provided extra blankets if they had been requested. I am sorry that you found this location nondescript because you missed what our area has to offer.
This place was in a lovely setting with a lovely garden and a walk around that has blackberries that you could pick up. The suite itself was comfortable, and had cooking abilities with a hotplate and fridge. We would stay here again. Dehlia herself was very responsive and nice.
We had a wonderful weekend! Dehlia was friendly and accommodated our check-in which was much earlier than anticipated originally. The room was as described. The only thing we misunderstood was that the photos are from the surrounding area accessible by car, we thought that the photos were taken from that location. We would go back! Thank you
Dehlia was a friendly and accommodating host, she even stayed late to meet us after we got stuck at the border for an hour longer than expected! We only stayed for a single night, and did little more than sleep in the unit, however the area was lush with plant life, and the views of the water on the drive up the hill were breathtaking! Also, the shower had plenty of hot water for all 3 of us (the water was a little hard, but that's true of everything in the Harrison area).
