The appartment in Trastevere was just great and a perfect, clean and cosy accommodation for a short stay in beautiful Rome. The appartment is easy to reach with public transport and in a wonderful area, typically italian with a lot of tiny restaurants and shops. Therefore I have to admit it's a bit noisy outside, also during the night, but it was definitely bearable and actually made the whole stay even more "feel-at-home" in Italy. Late check-in was also no problem, no circumstances for the check-out as welll and all information needed was provided.
Great location: Not in the city centre, where all the tourists and places of interests are, but near enough to get there easily everytime you want (either by tram 8 in about 10mins or by taxi for about 10 euros).
I would definitely recommend this appartment and would rerent it for another stay in Rome. Thank you Emilia!
We really enjoyed staying in Emilia's apartment for 6 days. Great location on a nice little square. When we arrived a bit earlier then expected we simply took a seat on one of the terraces and had a drink while waiting for Filippo to let us in. Easy communication all the way.
It was a pleasure to come back in the apartment after walking around the whole day and relax a bit before going to one of the many restaurants/cafes in the area.
Rome is amazing and we can definitely recommend this apartment.
Amazing location in Trastevere, an easy walk from dozens of great restaurants and interesting bars. Such a charming neighborhood - I am still dreaming of it. Emilia was responsive and helpful to answer whatever questions we had. Great bed too!
Lovely and quiet flat, perfect location, great view behind the most massiv and charming front door we've ever seen. Walking around in Emilias place made os happy: the interior/ furnishing is telling so many fetching stories - the eyes never got bored. Thanks for sharing :-)
I really have nothing that I can add to the previous reviews. Emilia's apartment is everything everyone says that it is. Having such a great flat in such a great neighbourhood only made our first stay in Rome that much better. Although we didn't meet Emilia personally, she was conscientious and quick to reply to all our inquiries during our stay. She seems like a warm and generous person. I wish we had the chance to meet her.
We loved staying in this apartment. For us the 3 most important things in lodging are: location, a comfortable bed, a good shower. The location is superb, the bed is very comfy, the shower is so-so (the tub drains very slowly so that water is up to your ankles by the end of the shower).
The apartment is light and bright with high ceilings, we stayed in the one bedroom- not sure where the other bed would be for a 2 bedroom. We brought ear plugs for sleeping, with the windows shut the street noise is mostly muffled.
Emilia and Phillipo were very gracious with our late check in and out, it was much appreciated! Side note, our flight in arrived at 10pm- the trains do not run this late (we found out). So take a taxi or take Emilia up on her offer of a car service via her friend!
Location, location, location! This is a lovely flat in the best area of Rome. One can walk to all the major (and minor) sites in the city, while the tram and a taxi stand are steps away. The flat is just as pictured - the bed is heaven. After a busy day of sightseeing, one can walk less than ten minutes to fabulous restaurants - or just go next door! The flat is very sunny and might be a bit noisy with the windows open. But once shut, the double-paned glass seals out any street noise. The kitchen is complete (a five-burner stove!) and there are two great grocery stores down the street with two fabulous cheese and meat shops nearby.
We spent 18 days in this flat. My husband met me in Rome, coming from a two-week working trip in Africa. He walked into the flat and said -"This is like coming home after all my hotels!" This was our first time renting an apartment rather than staying in hotels and it was just wonderful to have room to move around in, a kitchen to work with, and windows that open! We actually met the wonderful Emilia who is very responsive to any queries.
Emilia was wonderful. She answered my emails and my questions promptly. She helped us arrange for a ride (from Michael, a friend of hers) from FCO airport to her apartment. At my request, Michael brought us to an phone store so I could buy an Italian SIM card for my phone (this could have been done in the US, but it would have been very costly). Another friend (Filippo) let us into the apartment and showed us around. Emilia was in contact with us for any questions whenever we needed advice. She was great! I wish we'd gotten to meet her...but, alas, that didn't work out.
The apartment is quirky and lovely in a very artistic sort of way - a perfect fit for the Trastevere neighborhood. It was spacious and comfortable. A minor problem with the tub draining slowly but, hey, this happens with older plumbing.
Found the bed very comfortable!
And the WiFi worked beautifully!
We were very happy there....
On the negative side - it is noisy outside but we closed the windows (we were there at the end of October) and none of the noise came in. Also, it's a quirky old building. It was great for us but it may not be for everyone.
We had a very pleasant stay in the beautiful and very cosy apartment of Emilia. Although we did not meet Emilia in person, check in and check out went very smoothly. The area is great, lot's of restaurants and bars in the neighbourhood and fairly close to the centre of Rome (walking distance or public transport nearby).
Would definitely recommend staying here.
