The first night Grace told me she needed to do a clothes washing. I always offer to clean clothes for guests, as the machine is complicated (what washing machine in Amsterdam doesn't have 6 or 7 buttons and functions?). She left her dirty clothes in a bag outside her bedroom door the first night and I had them washed, dried, folded and in the bag next to her door the next afternoon - just like a free professional service. It was only five or six small items. Not a big load. Two days later she messaged she wanted to do a second load of laundry, and although I said it's no problem I do it myself, she wanted to do it herself because of personal items. I was away at a Carnaval the second request and replied as soon as I could that I would help her with the machine and would be home that night. When I was home she wasn't there so I went to bed, texting her we could do it in the morning. The next morning I waited and helped so she put her clothes in the machine and I ran it, providing washing liquid, and when it was finished I made sure she could easily take them out herself and the rest was up to her to dry them. I wasn't at all hesitant to use my machine at first, I've used it for 15 years. I was as quick as possible to respond to her request the best I could.
