A 3 bedroom barn conversion adjacent to Leanach Farm. Rural charm with modern facilities. "The back decking area was private and overlooked spectacular views with a regular buzzard soaring overhead daily! Lovely and peaceful, had time to relax and draw." Guest review August 2017

The space
The location
The North of Cowal is defined by Loch Fyne on the west and Loch Long on the east of Cowal. It is quite distinctively rugged with a feeling of great remoteness, yet easily accessed being just over an hour from Glasgow via the scenic drive along the shores of Loch Lomond and up over the Rest-and-be-Thankful by the Arrochar Alps. The cottage is well placed for enjoying a rural holiday, at the same time as being a relaxing and comfortable base from which to tour the scenic Cowal Peninsula, or further afield to Inveraray, Oban and Glencoe. 3 miles south of Strachur village and just off the road to the Isle of Bute ferry. 3 miles from Inver, a small, characterful restaurant on the shores of Loch Fyne.

introducing fyne byre cottage
Who can resist a barn conversation? Who can resist a barn conversion done my an interior designer? Two years of work has resulted in a thoughtful and beautifully renovated farm building, available from the summer of 2017 as a quality holiday let.

You arrive at the cottage via the shared gate with Leanach Farmhouse (not a working farm). Parking to the front of the cottage. BBQ built into the wall with a seating area and fire pit. Provide your own charcoal.

The cottage is on one level. Ramp access from the parking area.

You enter via a porch which open up to the kitchen, dining area and lounge. The open hallway to the bedrooms give the cottage a spacious feel.

From the lounge a door takes you to the ‘Secret Garden’. This is where you will be spending most of your time outside. A delight to relax on the raised deck area with views over the fields to the hills. Completely private, no houses, no roads, no traffic – bliss. Don’t forget to bring your binoculars to watch the bird life.

The lounge has a TV with SKY package, a multi fuel stove, logs provided, as well as a large comfortable sofa and a swivel chair. Hardwood flooring throughout the cottage. Decorated with a mix of original paintings and prints, many of which are for sale.

Dining table for 6 between the lounge and kitchen. Fully equipped kitchen with all the crockery and utensils you need for a self cater holiday.

The owners, Samantha and Ian, are nearby in Leanach Farmhouse. Close enough to offer advice on what to see and do in the area, as well as give support if needed. Your privacy is respected.

Hello, I am Leonard. Welcome to Lochgoilhead Holidays I have been looking after holiday cottages and homes in my beautiful home area in Argyll for 28+ years. I have been in the travel business in the UK, Canada and Australia for 40 years. That adds up to a whole lot of experience. My home owners entrust their homes to me so that I can help, you the guest, find just the right property for your stay. I work with the housekeepers to make sure that the homes are ready for your arrival and are as described in their web descriptions. I live in Lochgoilhead and am available to you during your stay to answer any questions and to help you make the most out of your time in Scotland. Finding your holiday home is easy. Once you have confirmed your stay I will be in touch with a detailed map and directions as well as key collection information. You may think booking with a local agent is impersonal. Far from it. This is what I do, and even after all this time. I want you to come and enjoy what we have to offer. A word about reviews. Airbnb is built on relationships. At the end of your stay you will be asked for a review. There is some confusion here. Some guests are scoring based on the property - rather than the way I am handling the questions and the booking process. If you are happy with how I look after you, bear that in mind when scoring the review. Many thanks. Leonard
