The space
The space is made up of two bedrooms beautifully fitted with soft sheets and a charming farmhouse feel. The bathroom is spacious with a luxurious, deep bath and walk-in shower. There is a full kitchen and lovely living space, complete with a fire for cooler month. A home away from home that you will never want to leave. You also can enjoy a private terrace, with a braai. Set on a historic, family wine estate this cottage creates nostalgia, a stunning spot that you will never want to leave - but do go out and explore there is lots to see!

Please note that as a WWF Conservation Partner all of the Bartinney Private Cellar cottages do not have central heating but heaters and fans are available upon request.

The cottage is situated on a private and secure gated wine estate. There is 24 hour security and safe parking. There are a few steps to walk up from the parking to the house.

Please be aware that check-in is strictly between 2pm and 5pm and hosts require an estimated time of arrival prior to the day of check-in.

Please take note that we are a self-catering facility and he cottages can be serviced during the week, service is limited on weekends. Should you wish to have your cottage serviced please communicate this with the host to arrange prior to your stay with us.

The cottage is situated on a historic wine estate set on the Helshoogte Pass in Stellenbosch. Various restaurants just a stone throw away. Explore both delicious dining and wine tasting at nearby estates and restaurants in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. The Bartinney Estate Tasting Shed is open from Monday - Thursday, 12-5pm, Saturday 12-3pm and Friday 12-8pm. It is a popular spot for sundowner drinks and nibbles on the stunning terrace, on Friday evenings.

The views are amazing and can't be seen anywhere else. Not everyone can get the opportunity to stay so close to the vineyard and absorb the lifestyle of the winelands.

Whether you would like a stay for one – six people, or would like to rent all of the guest houses together, we’ve got an option for you. The historic working wine estate enjoys unrivalled panoramic views of the Drakenstein and Simonsberg mountain ranges. The estate itself lies on the Botmaskop mountain, with hand-tended vines planted in the dramatic slopes and in between indigenous fynbos. The estate is just 15 minutes from the heart of Stellenbosch and 30 minutes from Franschhoek. Head to the Tasting Shed on the estate to enjoy the Bartinney wines and unrivalled views, walk amongst the vines, hike through the estate’s winding trails and head into the Banhoek Conservancy, and try some of the Cape’s finest restaurants that are just a stones throw away. All cottages are fully equipped, have Wifi, Netflix, Streaming and are self-catering.
