Joan's home was fantastic! Located in Belmont, which is a cute, walkable neighborhood with some of Charlottesville's best restaurants, Joan's home was not even two blocks away from the main neighborhood strip! Her garden was gorgeous, and the home was clean and neat, with the most comfortable queen bed! Joan was incredibly accommodating and a very gracious host. We so look forward to our next visit! I should note that we brought our dog with us, and the house/garden/location couldn't have been better for dog owners!
A group of us went to Charlottesville for a Women's Weekend. We stayed at the Queen Belmont. Joan's house was clean and comfortable. The location is unbeatable: a 15 minute walk to downtown in one direction, and only two blocks to the restaurants of Belmont in the other direction. We never needed a car. One word of caution: Don't expect a full kitchen. There is a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker in the living room. It was perfect for us because we didn't plan to cook any meals. All in all, a great stay.
Joan is great and her property is awesome. She informed us that the house is original from the late 1800s - she has restored it beautifully and maintained all of its character. The guest area was comfortable, and the pet-friendliness was a huge plus. We brought along our dog and he seemed comfortable right away. The weather was great - we had brunch outdoors at a cafe down the street and took a walk to the nearby park, both with the dog, which he loved. It's easily accessible to downtown, UVA, wineries, or anything else that brings you to Charlottesville. Joan is great to chat with and was very welcoming! We wish we could have stayed longer!
