Cheia village is located in the heart of the Apuseni Mountains of Transylvania, right next to the beautiful Râmeț Gorges (Cheile Râmețului) and three other scenic gorges. We are surrounded by forests, majestic mountains, and wild landscapes. The guesthouse is a renovated, original thatched house from the 19th century.

Our place is remote and can be reached on foot via a marked trail or by 4x4 in dry weather, with proper tires. We can also arrange transport by car from Brădeşti to our location.

"Dear guests, we warmly welcome you to our guest house! Please be aware that during the busy months of July and August, our courtyard may be lively with visitors during the day, especially those arriving via Râmeț Gorge, a beautiful natural reserve. We kindly inform you that these visitors will be leaving in the afternoon. We want to ensure your stay is enjoyable and thank you for your understanding. We look forward to hosting you!"
If you book for 1-2 people, you will book one room. The other room will stay empty. If you would like to book the second room with another single bed, please contact us.

The space is kept as basic and traditional as possible. We have no electricity except from photovoltaic panels, please know that charging devices is not available in the guest house. Your phone can be charged at the main house. We have a summer kitchen with gas cooking. There is a hot water outdoor shower and a dry toilet with sink. You are also welcome to wash up in one of the rivers, which will be a very refreshing experience.

The house is heated by a stove made of clay. It has 2 rooms with each one bed and one stove. If you book for 2 people, you will sleep in one room. The beds are small but we welcome people to sleep closely together like in the old times :)

We love to make bonfires. The space is also open for tourists with tents.

Additional details:
- The outdoor shower is open from April until October.

- We’re happy to offer 🚗 4x4 transport to the cabin from Brădești to our location or even from Aiud town — for a small extra fee. Just let us know in advance!

- For your safety, we kindly ask that you refrain from arriving at our guesthouse overnight or using the trail after dark, as our area is inhabited by bears 🐻 and wolves 🐺.
Your safety is our top priority, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. Thank you."

Cheia Village is our home! Ethnographic preservation site in the heart of Apuseni Mountains in Romania. Here the lack of a functional road for cars and the lack of electricity, added value to this place.. Going so nice and smooth.....back in time!
