We really wanted to like this cabin, but unfortunately there is a lot of deferred maintenance that made it difficult for us to enjoy our trip. On the good side, the cabin was relatively spacious and the kitchen had enough supplies for use. The pool was also nice. But there were quite a lot of issues we were unhappy with. We don't stay at high end resorts and don't have great expectations, but this bungalow was in disrepair. As one of the prior reviewers pointed out, there were cracks in the ceiling due to older leaks, but the bigger issue was that the gaps between the air conditioner and walls were plugged with rags and plastic bags. The electrical panel was exposed, and the owner gave my husband duct tape to tape it up so that my 2 year old couldn't get to it. The boiler was in the bedroom closet and also had exposed electrical wires. My husband had to replace the lock to the front door because the key was missing and the owner didn't have a spare. Otherwise we couldn't leave the cabin. The back screen door handle was broken off, and replaced by a clothes hanger. We were especially upset when we checked the smoke alarm and the batteries were missing. Since so many appliances were old and connected by extension cords, and the fridge was not grounded, we were especially shocked that we needed to ask the owner to get a working smoke detector with a toddler in the cabin. Since there is no internet or cell reception, and no land line in the cabin, it would be impossible to call for help in case of an emergency. While the owner, Cynthia, and her daughter, seemed to be understanding and promised to mail us a 50% refund, we do hope they take our feedback seriously and fix the issues before renting out the bungalow again. They own a beautiful piece of land, and we hope they can maintain the standards of this cabin like they do with their own home. And if the missing pedals on the pedal boats were fixed, the lake could be enjoyable as well.

What a wonderful experience! I was looking for a place to celebrate our 1 year anniversary with the staff of my small restaurant. Ted's place was BEYOND perfect! Feels totally private and safe but also super close to civilization. The property is huge and beautiful. We were greeted upon arrival and shown to the cottage and then weren't contacted again until the next morning when a kind woman (I believe Teds wife) found us at the pool and said to please take our time and not to rush out. The lake is insane. I was a little intimidated because I've never canoed or kayaked but the lake is big but totally private and still. We had a BLAST! Also the decor of the house is so charming and sweet. Little to no internet or cell phone service only added to the experience. We used an extension cord to bring the old timey radio outside and cooked on an open firepit under the stars. (There is also a great charcoal grill). I will without a doubt return to this air bnb and will recommend it to all my NY friends. The drive was so easy and the spot is so uniquely wonderful!

This cottage was as described on a small lake in the country. There are canoes and boats to use and a charcoal grill on the deck. There is a shared pool up the hill at the main house.

Had a great time at this cute little cottage. The pond was nice to boat around on. We swam in it a bit as well. The pool was very nice, I imagine we would have used it more if we had been there longer. We appreciated the tennis court and basketball hoop as well. Cottage was simple, but had everything one would want. Two bathrooms were a plus. Only downside was only one of the stovetop burners seemed to work, but that wasn't much of an issue. There is a charcoal grill in good condition. I would definitely stay here again.

This was my first time using Airbnb and Ted was very easy to get in to contact with while setting up our stay. He gave thorough directions which made our drive easy. They also gave us directions to the nearest grocery store the day we checked in. The cottage was small, but cozy and being right there by the lake was awesome. There are kayaks and paddleboats for your use and we took advantage of that! Minnewaska State park is a close drive by as well as some other hikes if thats what you are looking for. Me and my friends have already talked about coming back again. Also bonus Cynthia gave us a quick history of the area of Woodbridge so if you have time and she's around ask her about that.

The place was great and exactly as listed. It was nice and cozy with some awesome scenery. All the amenities for a weekend or week-long getaway were provided, even a fire pit and boats for the private lake. Only met Ted and Cynthia briefly, but they were very kind and helpful. Would not hesitate to return.

We visited Ted's lake house for a short weekend getaway, seeking peace and serenity from our lives in New York City. Our visit exceeded our expectations. The lake house is spacious and clean, and the back patio was perfect for grilling food, drinking wine, playing board games, and connecting with loved ones. While at the lake house we also found a few hikes in the area, which were very scenic. Internet is very limited at the lake house and in town, which was perfect for getting away from it all.
