  • Stefano's apartment on Via del Bixio is exactly as advertised. With multiple window exposures and a stunning manicured terrace, you will love waking up to plenty of sun.

Every morning, my fiance and I would make a simple breakfast with coffee and dine al fresco amongst the potted plants and flowers. There are plenty of simple groceries around to pick up some kitchen essentials and there is a cute wine shop just on Bixio if you'd like a bottle or two for the evening. If you decided to cook something up and spend an evening in, the terrace is very romantic and there are soft lights you can turn on for ambiance.

The bed is very cozy and a great size for a couple. The windowed bathroom has a wonderful view. The living area is quite a good size and between that and the terrace, you can actually entertain a few people if you wanted to.

As far as seeing the city, Bixio Terrace is about a 15 minute walk to the Coliseum and Forum areas. Rome is really a walking city, so you really can get to everything if you take the time. If you want to save yourself some steps, the Manzio metro stop is around the corner and the train system is VERY easy and inexpensive. Within a few short stops you can be at the Spanish Steps, Trevi fountain, Pantheon and across the Tiber River to the Vatican. We also found a very friendly bike rental shop within a 10 minute walk and were able to ride out to the Appian Way for a taste of the countryside.

This is a great apartment if you want to be away from the crowds at night. The neighborhood has one or two nearby restaurants that are not bad, but it is truly more of a respite from the bustle of the main areas. If you are arriving into the city via the Termini station, you can walk to the apartment, or take the train to Manzio if you don't want to drag your bags.

Stefano was great with communication. His housekeeper met us at the apartment and gave us the keys. Any questions I had were quickly addressed by Stefano via email. His WiFi connection is pretty fast and both of us were able to get some work done when needed.

Keep in mind this is a top floor walk-up. The light it gets and the terrace make up for the hike up the stairs.

  • The apartment is great and the terrace even better.
The situation is a bit far from the center but also non turistic and there are two metro stations very near.
If you travel with good weather have breakfast or dinner in the terrace makes your holidays perfect!

  • Stefano is a great host. We had a delay and he was waiting for us in the appartment and explained everything to us. We fellt very welcome and enjoyed our time in the Bixio Terrace. The Appartment has a good Location, it's a short Footwalk to the Metro Station, the Colloseum and Roman Forum is very fast to reach. The Bed is comfortable and the Appartment is clean. We would recommend a stay at the Bixio Terrace at anytime.

  • Top floor means a lot of light and inspiration. Good location. Space is very rationale and the basic equipment is enough for a comfortable stay. Beautiful terrace. Can stay on your own or share with friends. WIFI very good.

  • We have just spent 4 nights at Stefano's Bixio Terrace apartment. The apartment is simply furnished and very comfortable. We loved our stay and will hopefully be back again in summer 2014! The terrace is brilliant for breakfast, lunch, dinner or city centre sun bathing!

Walking distance to Spagna, colosseum, Trevi fountain, etc.

We would highly recommend the apartment.

  • The apartment looks exactly as the photos depict. It was small, but cozy. The suite is on the top floor of the building so there is quite a number of stairs to go up and down, but the terrace you get from being in the penthouse suite can't be beat! It is beautifully decorated with tropical plants and a nice dining set. We spent many nights after a lovely dinner sitting outside sipping wine under the stars. The apartment is well situated for exploring Rome by foot or by train as Termini station is about a 15 minute walk. There is a lovely cafe just a few doors down too that serve some of the best cappuccinos!
We never met Stefano as he was out of town, but he had a friend meet us with the keys. The only challenge we had was sometimes getting a hold of him when we needed something, but in the end we got everything we needed.
I would definitely recommend Bixio terrace if you enjoy escaping the crowds of people that linger about the tourist areas. It was definitely something we looked forward to returning to every night. I would stay here again.

  • Sweet place in Rome. Tons of natural light, fast wifi, a perfectly sized kitchen for making your own meals to enjoy on the wonderful terrace. Close to everything including Termini train station, Metro stop Manzoni, a grocery store, good pizza and several coffee shops. If you walk directly south (left out of the front door) down Via Galileo Galilei, you will find a park that borders the Colosseum. Beautiful! And a nice 3 mile run if you loop around the park and back to the apartment. Stefano met me there, showed me the place and made sure I had everything I needed. Grazie Stefano!
