What we offer here is PRIVACY. That's the special thing about this offer. The room, plus its own bathroom, is practically an independent unit in a bigger flat.

The Space

And now, the information:

A modern, very private and comfortable room in a big flat, where I live with my two children. The room is about 12sq meters and has a double bed (plus a private bathroom, not to be shared with anybody). Also a desk and a couch which can be used as a second bed. The apartment is on the 4th floor (elevator) in the very heart of Berlin, a 5 mins. walk from Alexanderplatz. The flat has a big guestroom with TV (free to use, of course), a modern kitchen, two bathrooms, a winter garden and a balcony. The kitchen has everything you need (including a coffee machine).

Guest Access

You have free WiFi internet and can also use the kitchen, washing machine, TV-set. As already said, the building does have an elevator.

Interaction with Guests

I usually leave people decide on their own how much communication they wish. Some want more, some less...

The Neighborhood

The apartment is right in front of one of the best parks in Berlin (attention, jogging friends!), close to everything. Best area in Berlin! Step outside the door and will find plenty of cool bars and restaurants right at your hand. Tram and bus stations practically in front of the door, subway approximately 5 mins. away (Alexanderplatz or Greifswalder Str.).

The area is very safe, very cultivated.

Getting around

Directions for reaching the place:

1. From Tegel-airport: please take the bus called “TXL” to the main train station (Hauptbahnhof), then get off, cross the building of the station, take bus 142 (which starts there), get off at the stop “Am Friedrihshain”, then turn back, walk to the street crossing and look for the restaurant called “Fontana di Tavola”. I am up above it, in the fourth floor (please ring at the bell saying “Enev/Westphal”.)

2. From Schönefeld-Airport: please take any city-train to Alexanderplatz, get down to the street level, take trams nr. 2, 3 or 4 (direction Falkenberg), get off at the stop “Am Friedrichshain”, cross the Greifswalder street, enter the Am Friedrichshain, look for the restaurant, etc.

Other Things to Note

A few words about me: I am fifty years old, well educated, speak 4 languages (fluent English).
I am a freelance book designer and book author. You can see some of my writings at my site, called "Ghost Forest" (Just make a search for „ghostforest“ on the Net).

What else? Maybe you just send a mail and ask about details... I'll be looking forward to hearing from you!

  • A nice room well located. Perfect for people who want to be independent. Simple, quiet big room with your own bathroom. Quite cheap compare to the other places you can find in berlin!

  • I had a great time staying at Zlatko's place. He is very nice and kind. He answered and helped me whenever I need. We watched the world cup together, it was fun! Even though I only spent 15 days there and mostly locked myself in the room, I really had a great time and was very happy that I chose this place. I'm so grateful.

The room is really nice. It's big and clean. Over there, there's everything you need. The place is very convenient. Bus 200, which passes most of the important places in Berlin, stop just few step away from the place. There's a bakery nearby, restaurants and also supermarket not so far away. One of the best things in that area is the park! It's very nice and big. It's just opposite the place so I can just go there anytime.

  • Zlatko is a very easy going man who is helpfull. In his house you are free, have your own shower and toilet and can use kitchen. Good room too end excellent price/quality level staking there in central place in Berlin (east).

  • This was my first airbnb experience and if all the rest are as nice, then I will be very happy! The room is lovely and actually is bigger than it appears in the photo. The apartment is situated very conveniently just a short walk from Alexanderplatz; it's very well connected with public transport and there is even a bike rental place on the street downstairs. Apart from the accommodation itself, Zlatko was a great host!

  • Zlatko's apartment was super cute and close to everything in the city. The apartment is right next to public transportation, really convenient to get to the city quickly. Trams are right nearby also. His son, Paul, greeted us and was
very welcoming and sweet. The apartment was comfortable and had it's own private bathroom! It was almost like Having a separate apartment. We were able to meet zlatko finally on our last day there. He's a very nice guy and polite. Great host and I definitely recommend his place to anyone looking for a place to stay for a few days! Thank you!

  • This was my second, albeit very brief, stay with Zlatko. As I anticipated it went without a hitch. The only reason I can imagine staying elsewhere in Berlin is if someone has already nabbed the room before me!

  • It was very nice to stay with Zlatko. He is very a very pleasant man and hospitable. I regret we did have time to chat more. The place is perfect, Berlin is 'around te corner'. We took our own bicycles, but if you want you can rent some very near by. Or use public transport that stops more or less on his treshold.

  • It was great staying at Zlatko's. The apartment is just two tram stops away from Alexanderplatz, so it's a very nice location. The room was very warm and comfortable and we even had our own bathroom and a lot of privacy (and access to the kitchen/ fridge space too, if we wanted). We didn't see Zlatko much, but he was very nice and welcoming. He had no problem with our late arrival and was happy to greet us when we arrived. I definitely recommend this place for your stay in Berlin!

  • I have been at Zlatko's place a few times and will certainly come back. The advantages for me are the location, well connected in a nice area, a big park right accross the street, an Olympic size pool not far, a few tram stops from Alexanderplatz, two supermarkets nearby, the private bathroom, the quiet and private room at the end of a long hallway, some good talks at the kitchen table. The price is also good, allowing me to take my work with me (wifi works well) and to stay longer than just a couple of days.

    April 2014
  • The location is very convenient - 2 or 3 tram stops away from Alexanderplatz (one of the main transportation hub in Berlin). I got a private bathroom and share the kitchen with the host's family. The host is very friendly and respect your privacy as well. Highly recommended!

I am a Bulgarian writer, bookdesigner and internet-activist, who moved to Germany some twenty years ago. You probably won't be surprised to learn that I spend most of my time in front of the computer, reading, writing and talking to people. 50 years old, living on my own with the two kids – great kids!, by the way. My daughter is an autist and the sweetest human being I've ever experienced. My son is a head above me, literally, and a very intelligent, very curious and open young man. As for me... you better try and read a bit of my writings (just do a fast Web-search under "ghostforest", that's my children's books; the other bunch is available only in Bulgarian). Do I need to tell you that I consider myself a warm, open and generally friendly person? Most of us do, so I won't waste your time. Just read a bit of what I've written, folks. Let the music do the talking! Looking forward to meeting you! Zlatko
