About this listing

What we offer here is PRIVACY. The room, plus its own bathroom, is practically an independent unit in a bigger flat. This, plus the excellent locality of the place, which is right in the heart of Berlin, is the special thing about this offer.

The Space

A modern, very private and comfortable room in a big flat, where I live with my son (20 years old). The room is about 12sq meters and has a double bed (plus a private bathroom, to be shared only among my airbnb guest; me and my son, we use another one). Also a desk and a couch which can be used as a second bed. The apartment is on the 4th floor (elevator) in the very heart of Berlin, a 5 mins. walk from Alexanderplatz. It has a big guestroom with TV (free to use, of course), a modern kitchen, two bathrooms, a winter garden and a balcony. The kitchen has everything you need (including a coffee machine).

Guest Access

You have free WiFi internet and can also use the kitchen, washing machine, TV-set. As already said, the building does have an elevator.

Interaction with Guests

I usually leave people decide on their own how much communication they wish. Some want more, some less...

The Neighborhood

The apartment is right in front of one of the best parks in Berlin (attention, jogging friends!), close to everything. Best area in Berlin! Step outside the door and will find plenty of cool bars and restaurants right at your hand. Tram and bus stations practically in front of the door, subway approximately 5 mins. away (Alexanderplatz or Greifswalder Str.). It might be helpful to know that we are here in the tariff „A“ of the Berlin traffic-net (the cheapest one).

The area is very safe, very cultivated.

Getting Around

Directions for reaching the place:

1. From Tegel-airport: please take the bus called “TXL" to the last stop (Alexanderplatz), then on the same stop (and with the same ticket) take bus 200, get off at the stop “Am Friedrihshain", cross the street and look for the restaurant called “Fontana di Tavola". I am up above it, on the fourth floor (please ring at the bell downstairs, saying “Enev/Westphal".)

2. From Schönefeld-Airport: please take any city-train to Alexanderplatz, get down to the street level, take trams nr. 2, 3 or 4 (direction Falkenberg), get off at the stop “Am Friedrichshain", cross the Greifswalder street, enter the Am Friedrichshain, look for the restaurant, etc.

Other Things to Note

A few words about me: I am around fifty years old :), well educated, speak 4 languages (fluent English). Also – ardent gym freak, been doing this for more than 30 years. “A sound mind in a sound body", if you don't mind me showing off a bit...

I am a freelance book designer and book author. You can see some of my writings at my site, called “Ghost Forest". (Airbnb usually filters out web addresses, but you can simply use "ghostforest" with dot and com at the end.)

What else? I am pretty open for communication, and in fact for me this is one of the main attractions of the whole airbnb business, but I would never try to impose any kind of “friendliness" on a guest who prefers privacy. It is YOU who determines how far or near we stay to each other, I am the one who is happy to oblige.
