Nice and friendly stay in Merstan Riad for a short period unfortunately. Once you leave the quiet of the place, the life outside is thrilling in Marrakech narrow streets. Thanks to Alan in particular who was very welcoming guest and gave us some clue by sharing his experience in Marroco as a Riad owner and entrepreneur. Good luck for the next stages.
Beautiful riad with spacious rooms and nice bathrooms. Our visit was a bit chilly so each room was provided with a space heater. The staff was very friendly and accommodating -- they even offered to walk us to different sites and restaurants. At night we loved sitting in the den by the fire and playing a wide selection of games. It is a quiet and comfortable space. Would definitely recommend!
Good as allways! We had a great stay, good Food and Rachid who took care of everything... We'll come back for sure.
Lovely place with warm and wonderful staff. Rachid was extremely helpful. We really felt at home during our stay, and the Riad is beautifully decorated and truly a haven after a long day in Marrakech. The wifi didn't reach our room, which could be a concern for some, but the common areas were comfortable and inviting. Also, delicious food if you choose to have dinner there!
Our stay in Marrakech was brilliant, and the fact that Alan + Kate's Riad was our 'home away from home' absolutely made the trip! The space is absolutely magical, and the rooms are gorgeous. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful.. giving us maps and even walking us to locations that we were trying to find in the medina. We absolutely loved every moment here + have been recommending it to our friends/family already! Gorgeous rooftop views, great food, cozy rooms decorated beautifully ... can't say enough about how much we loved it!
Riad Merstane is a beautiful and typical Moroccan Riad. Rooms were clean and tidy and everything you needed was available.
The staff are amazing and I was pleasantly surprised on how helpful they were.
Try having the meal at the Riad as it was delicious.
Internet was a bit hit and miss but it didn't matter to me.
Definitely will stay there again.
If you do intend to stay here try getting the taxi they recommend as it is quite difficult to find riads located within the city walls.
We spent 6 days at the riad and really appreciated the hospitality offered by big Rachid, little Rachid, Rachida, & the waitress whose name escapes me. They all went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, offering us delicious cups of mint tea whenever we were there during the day and evening. Overall the accommodation is charming and the bedrooms are comfortable. The breakfasts were extremely generous and of the highest quality. We had dinner twice, including New Year's Eve when we were also able to invite some friends who happened to be in Marrakech at the same time, and the food was really imaginative, authentic and plentiful (better than most restaurants that we sampled). The only slight drawback about the riad is its location: it's quite a long way from the main sights (taxis are essential) and the neighbourhood might be a rather unsettling experience for the average European tourist...
The roof terrace was a lovely place to enjoy the winter sun and views of the rooftops and Atlas mountains in the distance. The living room was cosy in the evening with a lovely open fire and provided the perfect place to play board games. We would heartily recommend it as a great place to stay if you're looking for something more authentic than the typical tourist hotel.

About the Host, Carol
Hi - we're Alan and Kate Elliott and fell in love with Marrakech 12 years ago when we bought and restored our beautiful riad. We enjoy helping other people to experience exotic Marrakech with it's hidden riads, winding lanes and warm and welcoming people and we especially love the mix of traditional and contemporary in the city.
Our staff also love to share their city with guests and nothing is too much troub le for them.
Come and experience this fascinating city and culture for yourselves
