Welcome to our log cabin! This three bedroom, two bath, all-wood home is set on five wooded acres less than a mile from the main highway. There is easy access to historic Frederick and Gettysburg. Surrounded by beautiful National and State Parks and only 20 minutes from Ski Liberty. Enjoy a relaxing time surrounded by trees or take a walk along the neighborhood orchards. Sit on the covered porch, relax by the fire-pit and eat on the back patio – or if it’s cold outside, enjoy the wood stove!

The space
Covid-19 note: We are using extra cleaning and disinfecting procedures due to the current situation. You may notice cleaning solution odors during your stay. We will try to keep this to a minimum, but your safety is our first priority.

Be sure to check out our mid-week specials!

There’s room for 9 people to sleep comfortably. There are two queen beds, two trundle beds (two twin beds with pull-out extra mattresses). Someone could also sleep on the comfortable sofa in the living room. The house has two full bathrooms. Upstairs, there is a shower / tub combination. For guests who are mobility impaired, the first floor has a walk-in shower and sofa to sleep on, so that it is not necessary to go upstairs.

Our house has two doors. The first door at the top of the deck stairs leads straight to a mud room with a washer and dryer for your wet clothes. The main door to the cabin is further around the porch. For skiers, there is a ski rack and boot dryers. You can hop right in the shower from there to warm up!

Please note that while we do everything we can to keep the space tidy and clean, it is a cabin in the woods so you may see some wear and tear associated with that. You can see from our reviews that the place stays clean, but please be aware that the cabin is impacted by the location so you may see some cosmetic impacts.

Driveway note: the drive up the hill to the house is steep. If you have a trailer it is probably best to store it at our local helper's house about a mile away instead of trying to make it up the hill, due to the sharp incline off of the road. We do plow and salt early and often so any type of car is fine in the winter.

My name is Tony. Our family has lived in the Washington DC area for most of our lives. The Frederick area is one of our favorite get-aways. We bought this lovely cabin as a place to escape from the city for ourselves and also to share with the AirBnB community. Its truly a wonderful opportunity and a great area to experience the outdoors, shopping, restaurants and history.
