Great room with lots of light, a double bed, a sink, a toilet and a coffeemachine and a huge private rooftopterrace in between the canals :)

The Space

Beautiful and stylish appartment with private room on the fourth floor. The room on the fourth floor is all yours. You don't have to go through the appartment on the third floor to get in. Your room has a toilet and sink and it is looking out over the ROOFTOPTERRACE - also yours (pretty amazing, esp in summer).
Also, the room has a double bed, and I've got an inflatable aimatrass if you prefer to sleep in seperate beds. There is watercooker and a nespressomachine (cups provided). The room is available all year long.

Guest Access

To the rooftopterrace and also to the appartment in the third floor, where you'll find the shower and kitchen (i use those facilities too).
If I'm around, it means we'll share the kitchen and the bathroom (with shower and bath) on the third floor. And if you like, I'll make you coffee :). The appartment on the third floor is spacious and light, with cosy furniture (see pics), a real cool coffeemachine, a comfortable bed and lots of books and newspapers lying around.

Interaction with Guests

I'll leave you a list with neighbourhood recommandations and furthermore i'm out quite a lot, so you'll feel free to move around in the house.

The Neighborhood

It is located VERY CENTRAL, on a quiet in between the Keizersgracht and the Prinsengracht. Basically every attraction and possible bar/café/restaurant is on a walking distance. The Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum (for Rembrandts and Vermeers), FOAM (photography museum) and the fascinating Museum of Handbags and Purses are all a 2 MIN walk away. Same goes for markets and supermarkets: all on walking distance.

Getting around

It is close tot tram and metro and train station.

Other Things to Note

I work as an editor (covering mostly fashion) for de Volkskrant, one of the main newspapers in the Netherlands, so I usually know pretty well what is going on. If you like I can always provide you a list of things to do and nice places to hang out. I want you to have a fantastic time in this charming city and am happy to give you tips for a true Dutch experience.

  • Ah-mazing. This place has it all. It's on a centrally located street, with a HUGE rooftop terrace and even though the room is small- it never felt that way. The windows make it feel big and airy. My boyfriend and I loved it. We even loved climbing up the 4 flights of stairs everyday to get to it.
We ran into Bregje only once, but she was super nice and helpful and left us a list of her favorite spots in the area. Her boyfriend helped us check in and he was very nice as well.
All and all- one of the best listings on AirBnb. If you're thinking about it- do it. You won't be disappointed.

  • Bregje was a fantastic host and I loved my stay in Amsterdam. The room is gorgeous (the roof deck is beautiful and such a treat!) and I loved being based in such a lovely neighborhood in a central location. Bregje made sure I had everything I needed, and also gave me a very helpful personal guide/map to the city with food, drinks, shopping, etc. recommendations. I would definitely recommend staying in this beautiful place!

  • Lovely room in a great location just to the south of the centre of the city. Fantastic roof terrace results in lots of bright, airy space in warm weather. We will endeavour to stay here again when visiting Amsterdam next. The host was lovely - thanks Bregje!

  • Very nice room with an beautiful view of Amsterdam. Bredje helped us to rent good bikes and give us nice tips about restaurants and markets around. The stairs are the only problem if you are not used, but wasnt a big deal for us. Hope get back someday

  • Bregje was a wonderful host, very welcoming and easygoing. The apartment was great. It was really centrally located which was a huge plus. The balcony really added to the room. We were able to sit outside and have breakfast and see all the rooftops. I wouldnt call the following a downside - but the kitchen and shower were downstairs in Bregje's apartment. We were given a key to her apartment and we could come and go as we pleased, but we sometimes felt uncomfortable going to take a shower at 10pm or early in morning, worrying that we might evade her privacy. We used the kitchen often as well and also were hesitant each time we went downstairs in case she was using the kitchen already and we were imposing. She always made us feel comfortable and told us to come and go as we please. Maybe we were overly sensitive, but if that is something that may bother you then it is important to know in advance. Other than that we had a lovely time.

  • Bregje room and terrace is absolutely perfect! The view is amazing, and the room has everything you could need for your stay. She even had a lovely bottle of wine waiting for me upon check in, which her lovely boyfriend made quick and easy. I ended up extending my stay, as Bregje had kindly left me a list of all the shopping and dining options I could need, with maps, both before and upon arrival. I can not recommend enough that anyone considering a quiet, convenient, and private place in this bustling city should choose Bregje's room! I will be staying with her on my next visit!

I like lots of things, among which are homemade coffee and newspapers, books and others things with letters and words. I also like nature, but at the same time I really enjoy living in central Amsterdam. Amsterdam is both cool and cosy, and my neighboorhood feels like a village. I work as a journalist for de Volkskrant, one of Hollands main newspapers; covering mostly fashion. Workwise I travel to Paris at least twice a year; for fashionweek. It is the type of visit that I pack a proper suitcase for, although when it comes to travelling I am more a backpack kind of girl who enjoys missioning around in nature usually more then exploring cities.
