I can not possibly say enough wonderful things about the Martz Farm, Miriam and her amazing family. My friend and I stayed there for three days and wished we could have stayed longer! Extremely friendly and welcoming, accomodating our needs with gracious hospitality, wonderful food, relaxing environment and stimulating, fun tours!! The farm is an amazing peaceful getaway, settles the mind and the soul, I can not possibly describe it with enough positive adjectives :)
The treehouse was amazing. The farm is down a long dirt road (about 6 miles?) and it's pretty rough on cars, so if you're going to rent a car, you want to keep that in mind, especially if it's raining. The treehouse if over a little waterfall and it has open sides. There's mosquito netting, but you don't need it cause there really weren't many bugs (this was April). The family is wonderful and they can provide meals (which is good cause you're so far from town) and they can arrange for tours. I highly recommend ATM and heard from other people staying that the horseback riding is wonderful. All in all, this is an amazing, unique place to stay and you won't regret it.
This place is amazing! My husband, 15 year old daughter, and I spent three nights in the treehouse and had some fantastic adventures. A truly memorable experience totally different than any place I've ever stayed. Great meals and conversation- Miriam made sure we had everything we needed. We went on a horseback ride with Joe (horseman, spelunker, philosopher, poet, with a bright smile and unforgettable laugh) through the jungle to an amazing cave one day and on a boat ride down the river and to waterfalls/swimming holes with Laz (laid-back jokester with same bright smile as his brother) on the second day. Both adventures were unique and amazing- and very reasonably priced. And, although our vacation isn't quite over yet, I already know I will look back on our brief time there as the best part of our trip. I hope to come back to Belize one day and will definitely book with this incredible family again- you should do it!
Most memorable vacation spot my partner and I had ever experienced! From the moment Miriam picked us up we felt welcome and cared for. The entire farm (animals, plants, people...) was magical and had so much to offer. Best food we ate on our trip and the adventures we had on the pontoon boat and horseback riding were amazing! Overall brilliant experience, would highly recommend Martz farm!!
My husband and I spent 3 nights in the treehouse at the Martz's farm and can truly say it was one of the best experiences we have ever had while traveling. Miriam and Joe are wonderful host with a beautiful farm and 3 lovely children. Joe took us on horseback riding through the jungle on a private cave tour and then we spent the next day on their boat exploring different waterfalls and swimming holes. The food is incredible, and the treehouse is lit with candles and very romantic. We cannot wait to come back and stay longer on the Martz farm. We highly recommend staying here.
Very fun and beautiful location. Super friendly family. Felt very welcomed and accepted. A really cool experience. Tree house is better than described. Make sure to bring flashlight and or a battery powered lantern .
Boat trip was great. Waterfall hiking so much fun!
Would highly recommend.
This was one of the best experiences I have had. The Martinez's were tremendous hosts, making us feel right at home, with excellent meals and accommodations. The excursions we did were very exciting and refreshing. It felt very personal, not like your typical guided tours.
I would highly recommend staying with them and getting to know each member of the family. They are wonderful, interesting, people and I have no doubt that one day we will be back there.
