The Space

We have room to spare in our spacious Bernal Heights home. Visitors have a private fully furnished bedroom and attached full bathroom at their disposal in addition to a shared kitchen, library, dining room and living room. Wireless internet is included.

Our place is 1/2 block away from the Alemany Farmer's Market (Saturday mornings) and Flea Market (Sundays). We are a 5-10 minute walk away from the amazing restaurants and cafes of Cortland St. We have an additional garage space and are close to multiple bus lines. SFO is a 12 minute drive away.

A bit about ourselves...Caner and Mickey moved to San Francisco from DC 7 years ago and decided there was no going back. We both play ultimate frisbee and enjoy anything involving the outdoors. Both of us are fairly relaxed, chill and into meeting new people. We also have a new family addition in our son Ash! (Don't worry, he sleeps on another level of the house.)

  • This was the perfect place to stay during my internship in San Francisco! For the price, it was well worth it. The bedroom was big and clean and the bathroom was great, too! Being around Mickey, Caner & Ash was also great. They're a fun, welcoming bunch!

  • Mickey & Caner's house was really very comfortable and nice for my 1-month stay. It's near bus stops of different lines which takes you anywhere you need to. It's 5 minutes of walking distance to Cortland Street where you can find as well all nice shops, restaurants and cafes. Mickey, Caner and Ash are nice and kind hosts. I liked very much trying out green smoothies with Mickey and her cookies she baked, also playing Board Game with Caner. And Ash is a very cheerful little boy too. Mostly I enjoyed the Farmers Market on Saturdays on which Mickey and Caner took me the first time with them to show it to me. A very cosy place to stay which I only can recommend!

  • Staying with Mickey and Caner is very nice.

For one, Bernal Heights is a very nice neighborhood. It's quiet and safe, but yet just a 20 minute walk from the Mission District. The home itself is close to Cortland St, which is surprisingly awesome. Also, the Alemany Farmer's Market--an SF institution--is very near.

Second, the house is large, and very comfortable. Amenities included: WIFI, washer-dryer, private fridge, private bathroom, an awesome book & movie library.

Third, Caner and Mickey themselves are gracious hosts. I found them to be flexible with reasonable requests, quick to address any issues, and inviting (e.g. Mickey likes to bake, and she would often share her latest).

  • This is the definition of home away from home. You will soon feel like part of the family, and every day will be looking forward to the comfort and warmth of your super-clean and spacious room.
WARNING: If you're a tea fan, stay away! You might never want to leave.

  • Very Nice. Simple, quality and clean. Mickey and Conner are a pleasant couple and it was a pleasure to meet them. This was my first experience with airbnb and I'll be sure to use it again and recommend it to others thanks to them. When you are invited to share their home or someone else's, please remember that it is someone's home, show respect please. It's not just a financial contract, but a social contract and being a good guest now makes it possible for the best hosts to continue to offer their service and offer it for a reasonable rate. I hope airbnb enjoys a wonderful success. I love to see personal, unique individual business thrive.

  • My boyfriend an i were staying at Mickeys place for 3 nights. The stay was very nice and comfortable. We had a very good time staying at MIckeys Place. The room was very nice and clean and we also had our own bathroom with towels provided. The location was very nice. It was also great that we could park in the garage. Thanks for that:)
I definitely redommend to stay at Mickeys Place. A real San Francisco experience.

  • Wonderfull time at Mickey. Very patient and friendly. The room was clean and with nice "green" views. It was very convenient to have our own bathroom. We didn´t use the kitchen but it was offered as well. We had enough places to eat very near. I would come again. Thank you Mickey!

  • My girlfriend and I stayed here for a whole week while we visited San Francisco. Mickey and her husband are very welcoming and nice people. The room is great and the bed was comfortable. There are several good cafes/restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk of the house. If you would like to eat somewhere else in the city, the bus stop is just down the street. We used the bus system to get everywhere and it worked out great. If you would rather stay in, you can cook at the house and watch one of the thousand movies they have.
I would highly recommend Mickey to anyone looking for a great house in SF.

I enjoy traveling (21 countries so far), any outdoor activities, watching movies, making/eating good food and reading. So far my favorite places I would love to go back to are Borneo (Malaysia) and the Greek Islands, but first I would like to see Ireland, Madagascar, Kenya, Chile and Argentina. I spend most of my free time playing competitive ultimate frisbee and planning my next travel adventure. I plan on using AirB&B as both a host and a guest, and as both operating on the concept of mutual respect for people and their property. I'm fairly neat, organized, reliable and out-going. I'm looking forward to the unique opportunity of using AirB&B to not only meet new people from all over, but to also get to know new people.
