Mela was super super nice and helpful. I'd recommend her home to anyone looking for an alternative to the tourist-y west coast Barbados style. She provides a very welcoming environment and the neighborhood was a lot of fun to explore.
We loved our stay with Mela! The place is just as described and we were really made to feel at home. Will definitely be our 1st choice if we return to the island.
Dorthin geht man ca 45Minuten.
Thank you guys for the time and your help!
This place is beyond spiritual. I'm not even a religious guy but Mela and Richard are like Angels who walk the Earth. These people saved my life. They are among the most beautiful souls I have ever met. If you are looking for something for the soul then look no further. If there is a God then it's own hands made this place and the inhabitants therein.
Our stay at Mela's was absolutely great. She made us feel very welcomed and even picked us up at the airport! Her place is beautiful and Shark's hole is so relaxing. She was very accomodating and gave us tips on where to go. The city is easily accessible by bus and only a short ride to Crane beach. Thank you for being such great hosts & making us feel right at home.
Mela is an amazing Host. I can deeply recommend her for a lovely time in Barbados. She was super nice and treated us like family. We felt like Being home. She showed us nice beaches very close to her house and you have your own privat beach right in front of you. The corner where she lives is the pretties of the whole island. She gives you ideas what to do and where to go ... Book now before it's too late.
Thanks again for everything. Tell the dogs we miss them all :)))
Best wishes from Germany

Mel's house is a little bit of the known path, but that's not really a bad thing. Her house is about 2min walks away from "shark-pool" (no sharks there) which you can see on the picture actually. It's perfect for a quick morning-swim!
The room was exactly as shown on the picture and Mela's breakfast can be recommended.
Mela has a wonderfully decorated house with 4 dogs (all of them absolutely lovely and nice) 1 cat and 1 parrot! So lot's of petting to do and the dogs will just love you for that!
Just about 20 minutes walk (or 5 by bus) and you're at the nicest beaches on the island (Crane beach = perfect beach with bars / restaurant near site. Bottom bay is about 45 minutes walk or 10 by bus/car. Bottom bay is amazing but don't forget your food and drinks as there is nothing there.
In general, if you decide to rent a car on the island, Mela's place is ideal. Far away for romantic get-aways and close enough to reach the town/airport or see the rest of the island.
I am a Rolfer and Holistic Health Practitioner. I practice and teach internationally.
I work with every body from professional athletes to couch potatoes… but at my place the surroundings are too beautiful sit on a couch!
I offer nature walks on the beach and around the island and WATSU in the sea. Body work and spa treatments are also available.
I teach optimal wellness classes including how to eat and cook healthy and full of flavor meals.
I have collected finishes and decorating ideas for my home from all over the world. I feel each room is an art project. I use color to encourage comfort. I have just planted 1000 lavender and thyme seeds to create a fragrant and peaceful bug free environment.
I love meeting new people and sharing my sanctuary with visitors to the island.
Lion-Horse Lair (I am a Leo born in the year of the horse hence the name) is a dream come true for me. I had a photo of this house on my mirror in Chicago for six years before I moved here.
My house of joy and wellness.
A great place to incubate dreams!
