How does one describe the domes? Peewee's Playhouse.... Alice in Wonderland..... truly magical..... it's the house that's bananas...... all phrases I've heard over the years. We have 9 foot tube slides inside the house. Secret doors, a putting green, monkey bars and more. Come play! **** Just added hot tub but that is EXTRA.
The space
Guests are sure to enjoy a memorable vacation in this fully furnished, 6 bedroom/ 5 bath geodesic domes home sitting on an almost 2 acre lot.
Words and pictures can hardly describe this truly magical home. The house itself is an absolute gem -truly a once in a lifetime home that the famous architect - Buckminster Fuller, himself - has actually been in before. An architectural dream that will make any old square house seem like a bore.
The yard and landscaping is unbeatable and includes frog ponds, waterfalls, streams and bridges. Many who come over, while they are sitting outside on the patio listening to the frogs croak and watching the willows blow in the breeze - tell me that the the last thing they would guess is that they are in a suburb of Minneapolis - rather that they are in a resort in the north woods.
The amazing part of the domes is that once you walk out of our hidden fortress, you come out to a city with all you could ever need and within a 5 minute walk you could find yourself sipping a refreshing slushy at Bryant Lake Regional State park which has a FREE fantastic beach, park, hiking trails, Frisbee Disc Golf and more! Rent a paddle boat or go hiking on the nature trails.....this park has it all.
Now onto the house!
Let me just start out by telling you that you haven't played the best game of hide n' seek until you've played in this house. Oh the nooks and crannies are so fascinating and fun! Again, the pictures just don't do it justice.
When you walk in the front door you are greeted with a view like no other. You see the curved wall, the beautiful kitchen and the window formation that will simply take your breath away. As you peek further you notice what appears to be the other dome and you just can't wait to go exploring! Don't forget your Harry Potter map, because you might just get lost! ;)
As you enter the kitchen you will soon realize that it is perfect for dining and it is equipped with everything you might need. It has a brand new Viking gas range, new dishwasher, new kitchen sink and faucets, new double oven and microwave, and a huge fridge. Seating for dining is located with the table in the kitchen itself, four barstools and the kitchen island or head over to our Italian- made glass table in the dining room.
If you feel like heading up the spiral staircase in dome 1 which you access from the living room (which is furnished with everything you would need including a 3 sided wood burning fireplace and all the wood you could ever ask for).... you will reach the Master suite.
The main/master bedroom has a nice temperpedic king sized bed and the bathroom has a large European soaking tub.
While the remaining rooms are furnished with nice full sized memory foam bed (s), the guest room on the main floor (dome 2) has a super comfy queen size bed, all very comfortable for sleeping lots of people. Also on the kids lofts sleep 2 person per loft on queen sized memory foam mattresses or loads of luxury air mattresses to accommodate more people.(We do not supply air mattresses).
This home is full of love and life. Down in dome 2 we have a mother in law kitchen - full of board games and even a mini stage for talent shows and performances! Theres also a bubble hockey table and a movie theater in dome 2.
Guests can enjoy an afternoon of fun and relaxing by the waterfalls and streams (excludes winter) or perhaps enjoy your 3 season porch and listen to the frogs sing, feel the breeze come through.... it's truly a slice of heaven.
The home is also equipped with a work out room with an exercise bike, free weights, many mirrors and ballet and pull-up bars.
Play golf? Try to golf in our hallway putting green...... this place has it all. There's also 2 excellent public golf courses within a ten minute drive.
This house is perfect for big groups, family reunions or company retreats - It offers tons of space to hang out, sleep, inside and out!
The backyard is also equipped with a trampoline for the kids (and adults too:) and a tiki bar and dining set. Note: The pool you see in the pic is a man-made pond, NOT a swimming pool. The back acre has a large area for tents, chairs, a football game, group bonding activities, etc. Enjoy the 200 foot Zipline that holds children and adults!
This house is a gem that's too good to just keep to ourselves. We want to share it with the world!

You will have access to the entire house EXCEPT the hot tub which will be locked unless requested to unlock and pay the flat rate of $500.
Other things to note
We have only 7 rules.
1)THIS IS NOT A PARTY HOUSE. We do NOT offer events and or groups over 15 people and are very strict about extra guests showing up without letting the owner know.
2) That being said - no being disruptive to our neighbors (once someone demolished a car in our driveway... thing like that are a big no no) we strongly urge for no outside noise after 10 and ask you to be respectful of the neighbors that live next to a vacation property rental full time.
3)No shoes, food or drink (except water) on the very top floor which has carpet.
4) No more than 6 cars in the driveway total for the duration of the stay.
5) At the very end/top of our driveway (you can’t see if from the house, our driveway is shared with our wonderful neighbors. Under no circumstances can you park all the way across and block their driveway so they can’t access their own home.
6) NO SMOKING inside the house. Unfortunately people have felt that the world is their ashtray and like to leave cigarette butts laying outside. There is a fee for butts that I find.
