The Space

Imagine a quiet bedroom in a spacious apartment, with beautiful sunlight, just steps from the terrific restaurants and shops of this wonderful neighborhood. Near many subway stops (1/2 block from the R train), easy to get to Manhattan; four blocks from Prospect Park; near to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Brooklyn Museum. You'll have the best of both worlds: you'll be in a fun, hip, laid-back neighborhood, but close to the sights and action of Manhattan!

The apartment is a duplex with two large bedrooms, two full baths, fully stocked kitchen, dw, wi-fi. You would be sharing the place with me (and my cat) - I'm in the upstairs bedroom and have my own bathroom, you have the downstairs bedroom (double bed; there is a queen-size raised aerobed if you prefer) and bathroom, and we share the open living/kitchen/dining area.

I'd greatly appreciate it if you would make an inquiry so we can e-chat for a bit before sending an offer. Thanks!

  • We had a very pleasant trip. This was the third time we stayed with Liz. The room was clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is interesting and lively, and Liz was as friendly and gracious as always. We highly recommend it.

  • Truly a pleasure staying in this space. Liz is a perfect host, providing everything needed for a most welcoming visit, and then some. Great space, conveniently located near transportation, and wonder full environment in Park Slope, the Park, library, museums, restaurants and great people watching too. A real treat that I look forward to enjoying again !

  • Our stay at Elizabeth's was wonderful. Her location's easy access (within a
block's distance) to all shops, restaurants and subway made our trip easy and
fun! The bedroom, kitchen and LR space was great for relaxing and recharging.
Couldn't find a more gracious landlady. Will definitely be staying with Elizabeth
    again. (A+ rental opportunity)

  • The only way to visit NYC! Felt right at home. Liz was a wonderful host and very knowledgeable of the area. Beautiful brown stone is extremely clean, comfortable & roomy. We never went into Manhattan, but the subway is only 1/2 block away. We just walked around Park Slope and surrounding areas. Huge farmers market just a few blocks away at the entrance to Prospect Park & Brooklyn Library. Brooklyn Museum is very close as well. We will certainly be back in the future!

  • Liz is a very helpful and nice host. Her place is bright and spacious. I had a comfortable stay and were even able to work on my laptop. Her cat is a delight. Highly recommended.

  • This is the second time we have stayed with Liz and enjoyed it just as much as we did the first time round. It was great to catch up with Liz again, she is a terrific host and person and could not have made us more welcome. The high standard of accommodation was at the same level as it was for our last visit almost two years ago, except that the bed has been replaced with a fully sprung mattress which was a good improvement. Liz's apartment is in a great location, close to 5th Ave shops, many restaurants, coffee shops and is also very handy for the subway. We would highly recommend this as an above-average Airbnb stay. Thanks, again Liz and we hope to see you again - Yvonne & Mick

In truth, I started with airbnb to bring in some additional funds. In reality, I never knew this could be so much fun! I love meeting people from all over the states and all over the world, including Croatia, Germany, Israel and Vermont! If you're renting one bedroom from me, my bedroom/bathroom are upstairs, so you'll see me around breakfast; but, I work a lot and want you to feel like the place is your own - to enjoy the tv/stereo in the living room, to cook meals in the kitchen, and to come and go without feeling like you need to check in. At the same time, if you need anything from me, please let me know and I'll do my best to make it happen! If you're renting the full place, I know you will enjoy your yourselves. The apartment is big (even by non-NYC standards); comfortable, but not pretentious. And, of course, there's Allie the cat, who is totally sweet and very people-friendly (though, sadly, she doesn't like other critters). Let me know if you have questions. I'll be happy to host you!
