About this listing
Imagine a quiet bedroom in a spacious apartment, with beautiful sunlight, just steps from the terrific restaurants and shops of this wonderful neighborhood. Near many subway stops (1/2 block from the R train), easy to get to Manhattan; four blocks from Prospect Park; near to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Brooklyn Museum. You'll have the best of both worlds: you'll be in a fun, hip, laid-back neighborhood, but close to the sights and action of Manhattan!
The apartment is a duplex with two large bedrooms, two full baths, fully stocked kitchen, dw, wi-fi. You would be sharing the place with me (and my cat) - I'm in the upstairs bedroom and have my own bathroom, you have the downstairs bedroom (double bed; there is a queen-size raised aerobed if you prefer) and bathroom, and we share the open living/kitchen/dining area.
I'd greatly appreciate it if you would make an inquiry so we can e-chat for a bit before sending an offer. Thanks!
There is a fold-down couch in the living room, where one adult or two children can sleep for an additional charge of $25/night. Please note, though, that the living room is an open space directly adjacent to the kitchen/dining area.
There is a cleaning fee of $60.
There is a refundable security deposit of $250.
No smoking. No pets - my cat loves humans, but not other animals.
The room in Elizabeth's appartment is a great location for a stay in New York. The description on the website is accurate: it is sunny, cosy, there is a bathroom for your own, ... Also the location is perfect: in a very nice neighbourhood of Brooklyn, close to the park, with a lot of nice shops and restaurants, close to a metroline, ...
We didn't met Elizabeth, but the communication with her was easy and we really felt welcome in the appartment, also by the her very nice cat!
Loved my stay. Plenty of places to eat / shop in a 5 minute or less walk. The apartment was very nice and clean. Allie the cat was great company. I will definitely be back to stay with Elizabeth.
We didn't get to meet Elizabeth unfortunately, but she was very attentive from afar to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Great location (close to subway), clean, and nice neighborhood!
Liz was a very kind and accommodating host, leaving clear instructions on what to do and where to find necessities upon arrival. Her condo is very comfortable, and convenient to shops and restaurants within a block or two. We were visiting our son who lives on St. John's Place, a few blocks away, and we felt very safe walking between the two addresses in daylight and after a few late evening dinners. We had full access to everything on the main level, including kitchen, living area, marble bathroom and our private bedroom overlooking the garden. The double bed was very comfortable but small for two adults so we also used the available inflatable bed to give us more sleeping comfort. We will certainly return to Liz's condo on subsequent visits. Liz was delightful, and so was Allie the cat!!
A little get away piece of magic and comfort... Perfectly located in Park Slope and all the happenings... It looks just like the pictures and the cat is really sweet... elizabeth has lots of goodies to eat for breakfast and snacks.. I shall return again and again
Our best host and Brooklyn location after many years of searching for a Park Slope weekend stay. We feel very fortunate to have found Elizabeth and enjoy her hospitality these many years.

About the Host, Elizabeth
In truth, I started with airbnb to bring in some additional funds. In reality, I never knew this could be so much fun! I love meeting people from all over the states and all over the world, including Croatia, Germany, Israel and Vermont!
If you're renting one bedroom from me, my bedroom/bathroom are upstairs, so you'll see me around breakfast; but, I work a lot and want you to feel like the place is your own - to enjoy the tv/stereo in the living room, to cook meals in the kitchen, and to come and go without feeling like you need to check in. At the same time, if you need anything from me, please let me know and I'll do my best to make it happen!
If you're renting the full place, I know you will enjoy your yourselves. The apartment is big (even by non-NYC standards); comfortable, but not pretentious. And, of course, there's Allie the cat, who is totally sweet and very people-friendly (though, sadly, she doesn't like other critters).
Let me know if you have questions. I'll be happy to host you!
