Four bedroom house with an access to swimming pool. Enjoy peaceful stay near ThongLor.
Private house has one master bedroom and three guest rooms (one of them is converted to a child room), four bathrooms. The house is fully furnished and equipped with A/C (most of them modern ones and have been installed just recently) and for those who prefer - fans/ventilators.
The house has a small garden with a mango tree, banana trees and plenty of decorative plants. There is a patio with wooden table and chairs to enjoy your morning breakfast or evening dinner outside when it is pleasant outside.
The house is in a private and gated compound with ten other families living there. It has a communal pool (very large, child friendly) and a small children playground. The pool is only about 30 meters away from the house, so it makes it feel as it is part of the house. The house is also very quiet - there is no city noise in it at all.
The location of the house is very convenient for both of those willing to enjoy Tong Lor and Sukumvit busy lifestyle (shopping, night clubs, delicious meals, massages, etc.) and for those who want to get around to see the city (skytrain Tong Lor is 9 min walking distance from the house).
There are plenty of hospitals around in case you are here for medical tourism. The most popular is Samitivej, which can be reached by taxi in about 10-15 min.
Since we have a small child ourselves (3-year old), there are plenty of toys and accessories needed for a child. Of course that includes a baby crib as well. A second baby crib is also available if needed.
If guests desire, maid and babysitting services can be requested. Our maid is also a great cook, so there is an option of having your meals cooked too.
Finally, the house is very spacious and could accommodate more than 6 people. However, for that, especially if you consider having loud party(ies), you have to ask us for permission in advance.
Guests will have access to the entire house. They could use all what is available in it (amenities for washing, cooking, cleaning, etc.).
Interaction with Guests
We will do our best to be present and welcome the guests on your arrival. In case of schedule mismatch, we will arrange that our maid would welcome you.
Thong Lor does not need introduction to anyone who has visited Bangkok, however, if it is your first time, here is a short description what's waiting for you. Firstly, Thong Lor is known for good food and excellent evening ambiance (good restaurants, clubs and bars, including amazing 47th floor rooftop). Secondly, especially during time, one can do lots of shopping in small boutique stores and catch a break in coffee shops or get your massage done. In the evening it is worth also visiting Soi 38 - a small side street with a night market which offers one of the greatest street foods in entire Bangkok. Wouldn't you love mango sticky rice?
If you want to do some cooking at home, there are choices of supermarkets around. 10 min by taxi takes you to any of the following supermarkets: BigC, Tesco, Villa Market, Fuji Market. You can buy almost anything there including organic produce. We would be happy to advice more specifically.
BTS (skytrain) Thong Lor is about 6-7 min by foot from the house. Taxis are available 24/7 on our street. Getting anywhere is very easy.
This is our house, where we live. So please treat it as if it was yours. If smoking, - ONLY outside please.
Vytenis is very kind, he offered many detailed information, like location and restaurants. We didn't meet him during our staying, but He always reply messages quickly. His house is near the bts station ,easy to get to the central. And very quiet,it's a comfortable and cozy place to stay .we'll definitely choose this place again!
The house was clean, spacious and in a quiet part of the city. The girls (staff) were also friendly and helpful, although we only saw them to let us in, they showed us around and even recommended a restaurant for the night. You do need a taxi to get into the center of town but that is very easy and only takes a few minutes. We would definitely stay there again.
We had a very relaxing stay at the Villa. Just what we were after, a place close to the train, shopping, restaurants and street food and the hustle and bustle of bkk, but to also be able to return to a place that felt like home and relax. We enjoyed the pool and my daughter had the extra benefit of a play room and yard. Each room had its own ensuite which was a bonus. We felt safe as a result of the security and the property fence and gate. There was ample movies to watch and wifii thought the house.
Thank you and would recommend.
First of all the house was indeed very spacious and the neighborhood peaceful. The area is also very charming and the house is very well located in Bangkok. The communal pool was always clean and our 5 year old enjoyed spending time there.
But there was a dark shadow on our stay since me and my husband realized after 3 nights that there were bed bugs in the master bedroom were we slept and our five year old sometimes crawled into bed. I can't tell you how many bites we got that itched much much more than regular mosquito bites. And I couldn't use any strong creams since I was almost five months pregnant.
We let Vytenis know about this when we had 2 nights left. Let me say that before our visit he was very helpful with everything and couldn't have done a better job. But his reaction to the bed bugs was not good in my opinion. He didn't seem to take it seriously, just offered us a bottle of wine (which I couldn't drink) and seemed to be more concerned about what this would mean to him and his family, rather than us - the family that had paid good money staying at his house.
So me and my husband decided to sleep on the couch for the last 2 nights. A few days after our stay Vytenis wrote me an email offering us a place to stay for free in his house. I appreciate the gesture, but I never want to sleep in that house again since the bed bugs were quite the nightmare.
Not an easy review to digest. I'm left with very confusing feelings since I always try to give the best experience to my guests and this review, in my opinion, is misleading. Firstly, after being away and hearing from Lilja about bed bugs I have asked my friend to immediately find the mattress to replace and buy new bed sheets. I have inquired Lilja about the mattress size (she did provide that and wrote that the bed bugs were in the sheets and the mattress is antibedbug) and asked if my friend could come. Since Lilja has left the house to go to the zoo with her family, we agreed that my friend would come later and we dropped the idea of buying new mattress as it was unnecessary. I did make an offer for the wine as an apology gesture and did indeed write a comment trying to express my empathy saying that my wife is alergic to bed bugs and I know how she feels and am seriously concerned about the situation and won't leave it aside. Well, I see that it was misunderstood. Our communication was one way, however, since then - I have never received any responses and only this review allowed me to know what she felt. I did send, however my friend with to the house to investigate the situation that evening. My friend brought brand new sheets and a box of chocolate but they were not accepted. Next day I have ordered pest control (we do it regularly but I wanted an extra visit) who came and cleaned the house but found no bed bugs. I have came back later than night and missed Lilja's checkout. We slept very well, no bites, no issues. Next day we left again for a trip and new guests came. They are staying already for 4 nights and have been thoroughly enjoying the stay - bug bite free. So I am a bit puzzled. It is also a bit strange to know that my maid even slightly complained (she never does) that the house was a mess after Lilja's stay. Maybe just a coincidence - hard for me to judge... I do however, wish to attest one thing which all things lead to - the bed bugs were in all likelyhood a false alarm. Lilja and her family have most likely experienced some alergic/bug bites but very unlikely bed bugs. Naturally, in Thailand, especially if you are in a house - nature tries to get close to you ;-) So it is not unlikely that some creatures can be seen or even nib at you. However, we clean our house regularly (Lilja did not need our maid's services) and have pest control monthly to prevent unwanted guests. One more note on the topic of bed bugs, - all my research about them indicates that they are very difficult to get rid of. As our follow up case shows - people are having peaceful sleep now and there are no bed bugs biting them. Enjoy amazing Thailand!
This was absolutely my best Airbnb experience so far: Vytenis made us feel extremely welcome by responding within a the hour, sending us essential information and most importantly, taking the time for us.
This beautiful, spacious home was almost perfect for our needs. My daughter and her family, who live in Cambodia, were in Bangkok for the delivery of her third baby and needed a place to stay for an entire month. The home was a short taxicab drive from the hospital and within walking distance of the excellent transit system (BTS). The neighborhood is elegant and insulated from the surrounding city. As to the home, it is very quiet (except for the large, noisy blackbird but that just added to the charm) and large providing ample room for everyone. The bedrooms are upstairs and quite large in size. The downstairs is open and capacious providing multiple areas of activity and plenty of room for the kids to play. The oversized couch and high end media equipment provide a very relaxing place to watch movies. Air conditioning gave relief when needed. The kitchen was more than adequate and as a bonus, the cook/housekeeper was available to help.
She also speaks beautiful english. My daughter and son-in-law did an amazing job recreating Christmas, adding to the decorations which were already there. A washer and dryer plus plenty of hanging space outside gave the house a feeling of being completely self-contained apart from food. The community pool was an added bonus and according to my son-in-law, very well maintained.
Our host, Vytenis, could not have been more gracious and helpful. From the beginning, he answered all our questions and concerns. He even picked my daughter and a friend up to bring them to the house to give them a "cook's" tour prior to the rental period.
In summary, we were incredibly blessed and I have told many people about our wonderful experience with airbnb.
