Cougar Mountain Lodge & Restaurant was built in 1941 in the beautiful Smiths Ferry Valley on the Payette River. We have 7 upstairs rooms that are rustic and cozy. We do not offer TV or room phones but we do have WIFI and most phones receive cell service. Downstairs there is a lodge lobby, a convenience store and a restaurant. There is whitewater rafting, fishing and hiking in the summer and in the winter there is snowmobiling and we are less than an hour away from several ski resorts.

The space
Room 3 is located on the back (river) side of the building and has a nice view from the windows. It is also the only room that dose not have bunk beds.

Guest access
Guests have 24 hour access to their rooms and the upstairs area, upper deck and outside area. The store and restaurant are open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 8 am to 8 pm. In the summer the days may include during the week. Please check in advance.

Other things to note
The lodge construction was started in 1938 and it was completed in 1941. The rooms were sized for the time period which makes them smaller than todays hotel rooms. The building is an actual log building so expect the occasional floor creaking. If you can live with the imperfections of an 80 year old building you will enjoy your stay!
