Anjali was a great host, even though she was travelling while we were there. She was well-prepared for our arrival and checked in with us before and during our stay. Her daughter was available if we needed anything, but we didn't end up reaching out. You can trust that this is a responsible property manager.
The neighborhood was fantastic; the house is located on a quiet street and around the corner is a fun strip of bars, businesses, and restaurants. We rented a car, but there was ample public transportation close by. The neighbors kept to themselves.
The house was cozy and very comfortable. The sleeping arrangements were fine. There is one bedroom and two couches that serve as beds in the living room. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils and spices, but we didn't use it much. There was a clean bathroom with a decent shower available. The closet was well-stocked with towels. Both of my friends needed WiFi to do work and the connection was solid.
This is a true Portland experience. Overall, the house was great and it certainly gave a wonderful Portland vibe. You'll enjoy your stay at this property.
The House was great, and well maintained, and Anjali is incredibly helpful. We had a great time staying here. The house comfortably slept four adults, and was located in a fun neighborhood. I would highly recommend this rental, and would happily stay here again.
Anjali is an experienced and gracious host. The house was in a nice neighborhood - with good (albeit, a bit lengthy) walking distance to either downtown or to the fun Alberta Arts District. Right on Mississippi there are some lovely shops and food joints as well. Plus a fantastic brewpub. Easy to transit. Newly opened natural foods store -New Seasons- just opened within walking distance also. Overall, a very comfortable & pleasant stay. I recommend it. Thanks again Anjali!
Thanks Amy! Mississippi Av is def a destination spot with non-stop fun! And to adventure beyond is a snap! Skip over to #4 bus, a 3 min walk from house. It takes you downtown without changing any buses. Or you can walk over the pedestrian bridge and take the Max Light rail. Or it's a very entertaining walk 3.7 miles! Easy access to everything! Check it out!
We had a fabulous stay here. Getting around Portland was easy and we always felt safe and supported by the community. Great pubs and restaurants nearby. Anjali keeps a clean and neat home which was very comfortable. A good experience for us South Africans, thanks you.
Location is great! House is clean and comfortable. Nothing negative to say here! I was there for 4 nights and would definitely stay there again!
Staying at Anjali's was AMAZING. I loved Portland and the Mississippi Fun District House is in one of THE BEST parts of city, hands down. It's located within a stones throw (literally) to Mississippi ave that has SO MANY THINGS. Radar Restaurant for a great cocktail and high-end food, Interurban for phenomenal mixology and Buffalo Wings, amazing ice cream at Ruby Jewel's. and its right by (again literally) MIssissippi Studios which is an amazing place to see live music and have a phenomenal burger. I basically drove my car to Anjali's and then didn't get back in it again until I left. But what was also amazing about Anjali's place was that the moment you walked through the door of The Mississippi Fun District Home, you entered your own creative space and safe haven. The house felt inspired, and in turn inspired me to write and create. It was also clean, comfortable, private, and I slept phenomenally there. Also, Anjali couldn't have been a better host. She was inviting, and helpful, and so respectful. Honestly, just go. You will have SO MUCH FUN in that neighborhood and you will feel like you can just walk home to your own oasis in the city.
The location of this cute house is perfect! One block away from the Mississippi St fun!!! My friends and I really enjoyed meeting Anjali and her daughter and granddaughter. She was responsive on all accounts, and there were no issues (the bedroom bed was a bit hard, but if you like that...). The decor is an eclectic blend that is refreshing and invigorating.
What a great place to stay! We stayed here with our two younger children for one week and it was really comfortable. We felt right at home and Anjali went above and beyond in order to make our stay as good as possible. The full kitchen and laundry was a huge plus for us.
Unbeknownst to us, Anjali's home is in a fantastic neighborhood with excellent restaurants and shops. It's very close to the Max line and even closer to the bus stop.
Downtown Portland is just minutes away. Close enough for the runner in our family to run down there, over some bridges and back to the house. We chose to use public transportation for our week stay and never had any issue getting to and from her place. We highly recommend staying here.
Anjali has a great space in a great location. Really awesome stuff right nearby, and easy access to public transportation (both the MAX and the bus) to get downtown. If you're going to be staying in Portland, I definitely recommend staying here.
Great location for enjoying Mississippi Ave food, fun, and shopping. Quaint and colorful accommodations with all you need for rest and recovery between Portland adventures.
