  • Stayed with 2 friends in this awesome home. It is quirky and cozy. Anjali is a great host and gave us wonderful suggestions! Furthermore, she quickly responded to any of our concerns. At one point in the stay the we had a plumbing issue and Anjali handled it right away. The home was also in the perfect location for us to explore. It was always a close enough drive to anything we wanted to do and almost every evening we ended with exploring the neighborhood. There was great nightlife, food and music right around the corner! Highly recommended!

  • I stayed at Anjali's home for two weeks while visiting Portland and everything about my stay was perfect. The house is clean, comfortable, and is in an amazing location. Anjali was very communicative and hospitable. I would love to stay here again in the future!

  • My friends and I had a wonderful experience at Anjali's place! She showed us around even though we arrived quite late and exhausted and gave us wonderful suggestions of things to do around the neighbourhood. The place itself was clean and cozy. We felt right at home!
    Thank you for hosting us!

  • It was my first time in Portland, so I wanted a place that would give me, and my two other friends, a taste of what locals experience.

Anjali's place was perfect! The house itself is a trip—small, but large enough for our small group to be comfortable, while surrounded by its unique character. It really made us feel like we were somewhere away from home. There's one queen bed in two sleepers, so the three of us rotated during our 3 nights. It was fun!

Location is golden, just a block away from great unique stores, restaurants and coffee shops.

It's fairly close to everything, including downtown and the Columbia River Gorge (about 1 hour). Driving is helpful and parking is very easy on the street, but you don't have to. Public transportation is easily available plus the city is not that large.

The neighborhood is organically charming, very quiet and green, just the way I imagined. The house is well-kept, clean and cozy... We loved it!

Communicating with Anjali was very easy and pleasant. She's always available for any questions or needs.

I really don't have any complaints about this place.

    I'd totally go back!

  • My friends and I were lucky enough to come across Anjali's place only a short time prior to our arrival. It couldn't have worked out better. Anjali was the perfect host, with great communication at all times before, during and after our stay. She had the place looking fresh and comfortable for myself and 3 other mates. The location is just awesome, with more bars, cafes, shops, craft beer houses and many fun locations all within walking distance, like right around the corner. we didn't really spend to much time sitting around the place as we had so many things to see and do while in Portland but at our time spent in the Fun Home, there was plenty of space in the living room and kitchen, we we all felt totally comfortable. I would happily stay here again and would not change a thing.

    Thanks again Anjali

  • NOTE: We stayed in the Garden (lower floor/basement below Home)
    Pro's
    Anjali is extremely responsive
Anjali is extremely courteous, even doing my friend's laundry and setting up the grill
    WiFi
    Great Location
    Very Clean
    Con's
Shower is weak and a bit small
Small TV - but who comes to Portland to watch TV - we didn't even turn it on
    Overall
We really enjoyed our stay at Anjali's Garden. We enjoyed the space and felt it was well appointed. Because we had three people staying the sofa became a bed so we kinda lacked a true living room but such are the perils of traveling in a group of three! Overall I would recommend staying with Anjali!

    Response from Anjali:

Garden apartment is one-bedroom in lower level of duplex with large south facing windows. Warm in Winter, cool in Summer. Sofa bed in living room turns into comfy full-sized futon. Shower comes on full force and hot when dial set at "on" at 1 o'clock position. We now have a new refrigerator and full-sized washer and dryer! TV is a relic for watching DVD's, no cable. Strong WiFi. Anli is right, guests come here for the fun that's just around the corner. Mississippi Av is a destination location, with amazing restaurants, music, shopping and more!

  • Anjali was a great host, even though she was travelling while we were there. She was well-prepared for our arrival and checked in with us before and during our stay. Her daughter was available if we needed anything, but we didn't end up reaching out. You can trust that this is a responsible property manager.

The neighborhood was fantastic; the house is located on a quiet street and around the corner is a fun strip of bars, businesses, and restaurants. We rented a car, but there was ample public transportation close by. The neighbors kept to themselves.

The house was cozy and very comfortable. The sleeping arrangements were fine. There is one bedroom and two couches that serve as beds in the living room. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils and spices, but we didn't use it much. There was a clean bathroom with a decent shower available. The closet was well-stocked with towels. Both of my friends needed WiFi to do work and the connection was solid.

This is a true Portland experience. Overall, the house was great and it certainly gave a wonderful Portland vibe. You'll enjoy your stay at this property.

  • The House was great, and well maintained, and Anjali is incredibly helpful. We had a great time staying here. The house comfortably slept four adults, and was located in a fun neighborhood. I would highly recommend this rental, and would happily stay here again.

  • Anjali is an experienced and gracious host. The house was in a nice neighborhood - with good (albeit, a bit lengthy) walking distance to either downtown or to the fun Alberta Arts District. Right on Mississippi there are some lovely shops and food joints as well. Plus a fantastic brewpub. Easy to transit. Newly opened natural foods store -New Seasons- just opened within walking distance also. Overall, a very comfortable & pleasant stay. I recommend it. Thanks again Anjali!

    Response from Anjali:

Thanks Amy! Mississippi Av is def a destination spot with non-stop fun! And to adventure beyond is a snap! Skip over to #4 bus, a 3 min walk from house. It takes you downtown without changing any buses. Or you can walk over the pedestrian bridge and take the Max Light rail. Or it's a very entertaining walk 3.7 miles! Easy access to everything! Check it out!

About
I have such a great time hosting people from all over the world. It's like traveling while staying at home! What's important to me as a host is that people get the most out of their stay here. Having lived here quite awhile, I am a font of info in a wide array of interests. I love it when people feel at-home, playful and relaxed. And to see it in action, what more could a host want? For example, a guest wrote in chalk on the sidewalk in front of the house a little road map to my house and pointed to house "Paradise" How fun is that? (email hidden),I am an artist, performer, RN-PhD, investor, entrepreneur, published author, host. mother, and GRAND mother. I love life and love creative expression. Currently, my focus is upon multi-month leases, though short term stays are also graciously invited! My property, "Mississippi Fun District", is great place to be in Portland with eats, treats and beats right around the corner. Home is secluded, yet in the middle of it all. Easy to zip around town via walk, bike, bus, light-rail, car. My rentals are in a duplex, therefore in same building. Same address. When I am not traveling, I spend much of my time in the sunroom attached to the back end of the house and in the art studio at the back end of the property. My raised beds grow food year around. I am part of collective that share crops. 50% of produce is shared with volunteers and a local Soup Kitchen. You may meet volunteer gardeners and pick up some gardening tips for your own garden! I look forward to your stay here for your future travel plans to Portland! Enjoy! Anjali.LeBoeuf
