This beautifully furnished home in Noe Valley is a classic San Francisco flat located at the top of a two-unit building. The space is inundated with natural sunlight, with two quiet bedrooms in the back - one bedroom has a comfortable queen-sized bed with a large outdoor deck, and the other bedroom is configured as a media room (for an additional fee this can be configured with a queen size bed).
The front of the house is dominated by a large living room and long bank of original bay windows overlooking Noe Valley. Throughout you will find many spaces where you can relax: a comfortable couch in front of a wood-burning fireplace, a cozy and well-appointed den, and a small breakfast nook adjacent to the kitchen.
The kitchen was remodeled with high-end appliances several years ago, and features a fully restored 1952 Wedgewood stove, custom cabinets, and restored douglas fir flooring. Those who love to cook will find all the equipment one might need. There are several excellent local markets nearby and a farmer's market in the neighborhood every Saturday morning.
Also note that the streetcar stop is a block away, and the subway six blocks. Private washing and drying machines are also available in the first floor garage for laundry.
Interaction with Guests
When not upstairs I stay with my brother downstairs, so I am always nearby if a guest has questions or needs any assistance.
Please be considerate of neighbors, particularly the owner of the second unit in the building (he is my brother). Also note the flat is strictly non-smoking. Please smoke outside in the front of the house or on the back deck. When exiting for the day, please be sure to turn off the main lights and heat, and be certain the stove and burners are in the off position. Never leave a fire in the fireplace unattended. At present there are no available parking spots in the garage.
We had a great stay at Chris' place. The home is everything the profile says and more. Beautiful artwork, furniture and a wonderful fire place. We loved the Noe valley. Slightly quieter than other parts of San Francisco but filled with lots of cool cafes and close to the restaurants in Mission. Chris was great with communication and was there to meet us and give us a tour of the apartment.
Chris is a terrific host, very responsive, and his recommendations were spot on. Beautiful, spacious" doesn't begin to describe his home. It is a gem -- terrific light, fabulous space, a kitchen and dining room you can entertain in, the deck is perfect for morning coffee, location fabulous for walking, restaurants, transit anywhere. I walked to the Asian Art museum each day, rode the J train up the hill home. For me, this is home in San Francisco and plan to.
Chris has a beautiful, open, and light infused apartment in a great neighborhood. The apartment is well furnished and equipped and filled with interesting art. We were very comfortable. The description is accurate and Chris was a good host. We would love to stay again.
Christopher's warmth and attention to detail made my stay in Noe Valley wonderful. The apartment itself is more spacious even than the photographs suggest, and is artfully furnished to balance comfort with a sense of thoughtful design. The kitchen is equipped for home cooking - and my guests and I had several lovely dinner parties cooking together on the Wedgewood stove and seated easily at the 8 person dining table. In need of one more heavy large pot for the tagine, Christopher kindly supplied it himself from his own kitchen downstairs! The two queen beds are comfortable, and we were amazed to find walk-in closets in each of the bedrooms in this period flat. Beyond the flat, the neighborhood itself offers many pleasures: Chloe's diner next door serves excellent coffee and breakfast both indoors and at sunbathed sidewalk tables - on weekends diners come from all over the city, with dogs and newspapers, to await a table. The tea room a half block away is charming. If you're too lazy to use Christopher's washing machine, the laundry across the street will have your clothes back to you clean and folded in a couple of hours. While we never had trouble parking the rental car in front of or near the flat, we ditched it when we realized Whole Foods is only 3 blocks away and everything else in the city can be easily accessed by Muni or Uber. I enjoyed the flat, Christopher's kindness and the neighborhood immensely and my only hesitation in recommending it to the reader is that when I try to return I don't want to find you have taken my timeslot!
Chris was attentive and helpful in getting us settled in and quick to respond to any questions. Apartment was gorgeous, clean, and in a great neighborhood. Would love to stay again if I make it back out to SF.
Absolutely stunning, spacious flat with exceptional decor. We thoroughly enjoyed the neighbourhood & easy access to the city via street cars. Numerous shops and restaurants a stones throw away. Chris was a fantastic host & easy to communicate with, extensive knowledge of the area and what's on offer. Will definitely stay here on our next visit to San Fran! Thanks Chris!
Chris's place is in a lovely residential neighbourhood of San Francisco. You can be downtown on the J street car in 25 minutes, or jog up Twin Peaks (beware the burn!) in 30. Great restaurants and cafes nearby, Holly and Michelle at Episode salon across the road do a great manicure and you can pick up groceries at Whole Foods to cook in Chris's well appointed kitchen. Loved this place - beautifully decorated, interesting art, nice bed linen. And Chris is great to deal with too!
Originally from Portland, Oregon, I have lived in San Francisco since 2005. I love to travel and have been lucky enough to have spent time all over Europe, Asia and Latin America. I look forward to hosting you in my favorite city of them all!
