This spacious bungalow has the quiet air of a remote retreat while only a 5-minute drive to charming Nevada City. Situated on a one-acre park-like setting, it features a sleeping area with a comfy queen bed to one side and a sitting area with a sleeper sofa and TV to the other side, all below a high ceiling with four skylights. Also featured are a refrigerator, microwave, toaster and coffeemaker. A great jumping off point to explore the Gold Country or just to cocoon in the Sierra foothills.

Other things to note
Cable TV on a 42" Samsung smart TV includes HBO and Showtime, with easy access to your Netflix/Hulu accounts.

The bungalow is widely and securely fenced, ideal for pet dogs; note that house rules include a pet size limitation of 45 lbs.

There is no stove/cooking.

A heavy curtain separates the toilet/shower area from the rest of the bungalow. The bathroom can't be seen into from the central part of the studio, and there is a ventilating fan in this room as well. There is no bathroom sink; the nearby kitchen sink doubles as a bathroom sink. A larger bathroom in the main house is available; it features a separate entrance just a few steps from the bungalow.

There are no steps to get into the bungalow; however, the unit itself is not completely level, as there is one step up into the bathroom.

There are many streets behind the property that are ideal for walks, including on-leash dog walking. The property has a secure back gate that provides easy access to those streets; a remote gate opener is available on request.

Note that house rules include the need for all self-check-in guests to view a short YouTube video in advance of arrival, as it features crucial tips for locating the difficult-to-find driveway.

A powerful generator keeps electricity flowing seamlessly during outages.

The lower Banner Mountain neighborhood, also known as Banner Crest, is located on the border between Grass Valley and Nevada City; Banner Mountain features some of the most interesting and elegant homes in the area. Though it feels miles from civilization, this house in the hills is only one and a half miles from three major supermarkets and two miles from downtown Nevada City.
