At-home coffee

Start your morning right with the pour-over coffee maker, french press, and drip coffee maker.
Enjoy winter in Oakridge with this SMALL 2 bedroom, 1 bath house, which is an ideal base for year round recreation on the Willamette National Forest.

Access recreation in all directions: Ride bikes from the house, stroll Uptown for food & beverage, soak in Mc Credie hot springs 10 miles east, ski at Willamette 30 miles east, view Salt Creek Falls and so much more.

The house has gotten some love this year: fresh paint, new baseboard heaters and a new mattress in the smaller bedroom.

The space
This small house is not fancy; just a clean, simple place. The open, south facing living room has a smart TV with an apple tv box so you can access your own media streaming accounts. The wifi router is in the living room so you can plug in directly if you plan to work remotely. The wifi service is 40 mpgs, which has worked well for our family to teach and learn virtually.

There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and one tiny bathroom with a shower stall.

There is a portable air conditioner and a fan in each bedroom.

The kitchen is newly remodeled and well equipped for cooking meals: plenty of pots and pans, serving dishes, even a crock pot so you can have hot food after your adventure. There is a standard drip coffee machine and a french press. There is no dishwasher.

Off the back of the house is a deck overlooking the backyard with views across to Larison Ridge. After your summer adventure, grill out on the deck and enjoy the fading light or relax in a hammock strung between big old oak trees. The garage below the house has a washer and dryer and is perfect for bike and gear storage.

Pets are welcome with prior consent from the owner. The back yard is fenced in and there are many easy dog walks from the house. Towels to wipe off muddy paws are provided. Reservations with pets will be charged a pet cleaning fee of $35 per stay.

The house is in Uptown Oakridge and is about as urban as this little rural town gets. Expect to hear neighbors, cars driving on roads and the train, which passes through the center of town. There are ear plugs in the medicine cabinet.

Guest access
Access to the entire house, garage, fenced in back yard and deck and parking spots out front.

Other things to note
Oakridge is in the process of building tourist infrastructure; please be patient. Thank you for spending money in Oakridge as it helps bolster the economy and allows local businesses to add to the services we all want & need to comfortably recreate in the region.

Neighborhood highlights

You might be visiting Oakridge because you are drawn to the world class recreation on the surrounding Willamette National Forest. The area has a rich logging history and Oakridge was once a booming mill town. The logging industry shut down in the 1990's and since then the town has been trying to form a new base industry and is slowly evolving into an outdoor recreation destination. Cog Wild's cottage is located in Uptown Oakridge, which was formerly the center of town and is now being revitalized. This is a working class neighborhood near Oakridge's schools and churches, the Ray's Supermarket and a variety of restaurants. The cottage is a short drive from all kinds of adventure on the Willamette National Forest and only a couple blocks from the pub, restaurants and Cog Wild's Oakridge Headquarters at 1st and Pine.
