Fullsize bed in a cozy private room. Come unwind and try one of Nat's 6+ beers on tap. Within 10 minutes of downtown Tacoma or Puyallup, PLU and UPS. Pet friendly with 2 dogs and chickens onsite.
Fully fenced yard; pet friendly! Garden full of fresh veggies and fruit when in season.
Our large yard and small 2BR\1B home is cozy and quiet. Get away from the city and relax while listening to birdsong and the rustle of the wind through our cedar trees. Currently undergoing moderate renovation, our home welcomes you with hardwood floors in the shared living space, a funky kitchen and wood burning stove. When in season, the gardens are full of vegetables and fresh fruit.
Guests will have access to the private bedroom, shared bathroom, kitchen and living/dining room. We'd love to share a home cooked meal with you after gathering farm-fresh eggs from the chicken coop and in-season vegetables from the garden. Pair the food with any of Nat's beers on tap. We have WiFi, Kinect & extended cable (but no TV in the guest bedroom). Please let us know if you have any special needs or requests and we will do our best to meet all of your expectations!
Interaction with Guests
Either myself or Nat will greet you when you check-in and give you a tour of the house and property. If you want privacy during the evenings it can easily be arranged. We both work full time and lead busy lives during the evenings. We will do our best to let you know our schedule during your stay. Breakfast is served at 7:30 on weekdays, and usually at 10 on weekends. Most nights we cook dinner at home. Expect lots of interaction with our dogs who will do their best to become part of your pack.
Midland is where the lots get bigger and the stars become more visible. Our neighborhood is quiet, safe and feels very rural despite being in the middle of the city.
Expect a 45 minute drive from SEATAC. Ample parking is included. If looking for public transit, there is bus access at the corner of our street with a park and ride 3 blocks away. There are great local produce shops nearby and a couple of good restaurants. Ask directions for how to get around, as getting to and from here can be complicated if you don't know the back-road shortcuts.
We ask that you treat our home as you would your own and communicate with us as respected hosts. Please do not hesitate to tell us what you loved and/or what we can do to make your stay special. If anything doesn't meet your expectations, tell us right away so we can address the issue and make it right!
What a great way to round-out our trip to the Pacific Northwest! Staying with Elise and her husband was flat-out awesome -- they are so welcoming and incredibly generous with sharing their fresh farm eggs and home brews with us. We got to tour the chicken coop and collect fresh eggs, learn all about brewing, share study abroad and travel experiences, learn about how Elise developed her incredible sense of style for designing and decorating her home, and gush about how much we all LOVE airbnb! I wish we didn't have an early morning flight the next day, because it would have been so easy to stay up all night sharing stories with this super chill couple! Hope we get to visit again one day - whether its in Tacoma or Philly or somewhere in-between!! P.S. Super cute dog!
Elise and Nat were great hosts. They have created an amazing community focused atmosphere that spans the bedroom, house, workshop full of beers on tap, the chicken coop and ultimate frisbee pitch. This was my first experience using AirBnB solo and I could not have asked for a better first experience. I just wish I could have stayed longer.
Elise and her husband were very warm and welcoming. It was great to be able to bring my dogs and let them have a yard to run in. They really were interested in them and loved on them along with their own dogs. The room was roomy and comfortable. I enjoyed eating breakfast with them but really hope next time I get to try Elise's homemade granola. We enjoyed our stay and hope to be able to do it next year when we come to town again.
Elise and Mat are great. Convenient part of town. They have cool dogs and share their very delicious craft beers. We chose them because our dog was allowed to come too and he loved their spacious yard.
This house is perfect. We fully enjoyed our time here. The house is clean, good company, and good conversation. The land is quaint and it was a pleasure to stay.

Elise and her husband Nat are cool, down to earth, truly friendly people! They opened there home up to me (which included Nat's self made beer). Nat also gave me great local recommendations in regards to the area. I would not hesitate to stay with them again.
