Shared living space/bathroom welcomes you with hardwood floors, a funky kitchen and wood burning stove. When in season, enjoy our gardens full of vegetables and fresh fruit. The yard is fully fenced for your 4-legged traveling companions.
Guests will have access to the private bedroom, shared bathroom, kitchen and living/dining room. We'd love to arrange a home cooked meal for you paired with any of Nat's beers. We have WiFi, Kinect & extended cable (but no TV in the guest bedroom). Please let us know if you have any special needs or requests and we will do our best to meet all of your expectations!
Interaction with Guests
We will greet you at the gate when you check-in and give you a quick introduction to our property. If you want privacy during the evenings please ask prior to arrival. We enjoy moderate to heavy interactions with guests, and love share beer and food! We both work full time and lead busy lives, so we will do our best to let you know our schedule during your stay. Breakfast is served at 7:30 on weekdays, and usually at 10 on weekends. Most nights we cook dinner at home. Expect lots of interaction with our dogs who will do their best to become part of your pack.
Midland is where the lots get bigger and the stars become more visible. Our surrounding neighborhood is dark at night, safe and feels fairly rural despite being in the middle of East Tacoma. Please expect a bit of a drive to get anywhere "Downtown", however there are a few amazing restaurants and shops close by if you are interested (please refer to our guidebook).
Expect a 45 minute drive from SEATAC. 15 minutes or less to downtown, PLU, UPS, the Tacoma Dome or Puyallup. Ample parking is included. If looking for public transit, there is bus access at the corner of our street with a park and ride 3 blocks away. Ask directions for how to get around, as getting to and from here can be complicated if you don't know the back-road shortcuts.
We ask that you treat our home as you would your own and communicate with us as respected hosts. Please do not hesitate to tell us what you loved and/or what we can do to make your stay special. If anything doesn't meet your expectations, tell us right away so we can address the issue and make it right!
Elise and Nat were great! They were very hospitable and welcoming when I arrived, were kind enough to share Nat's beers with me, and even offered to make me breakfast. Great piece of property with better people!
Elisa and Nat were so hospitable. They had friends over and Elise was great at introducing me and everyone was so nice. The property is well maintained and the home very welcoming. It was such a great environment and a very pleasurable stay.
Wow! This is my first time staying AirBnb and Elise and her husband Nat were amazing. Really set the bar high. They we very flexable when we had an additional guest. They brew their own beer and shared with us. Because they know we are planning on moving to the area we all went out one night so they could show us the town. They have a beautiful home and sweet animals. The accommodations were comfy and they went above and beyond. Would stay with they again, if they hadn't sold me on the idea of actually moving here permanently.
This little family is incredible! I instantly felt like a old friend. Right at home in their cozy paradise. Everyone was perfect. From the clean, quaint home. To the home brews on tap (Nat's a Scientist)
Elise was very welcoming and friendly. She showed me around the property and made me feel right at home. The property is somewhat secluded and very pretty. The space was quite comfortable and accommodating. There was plenty of light in the room and plenty of space to move around and keep my luggage. The two dogs were friendly and a fun addition to the experience. Elise also stocked several bottles of water in the room, which came in very handy. She even cleared out a space in the closet so I could hang some of my things, and offered to clear out more space if I needed it. It was a great experience! I would definitely stay again and recommend it to anyone passing through. Thanks, Elise!
Elise and Nat made us feel at home. They were very friendly and accommodating. The room was nice and cozy and the micro brewery they have is FANTASTIC! The beer was great and so was the conversation. The breakfast they provided was homegrown and was delicious. I highly recommend you stay with them if you are in their neck of the woods. I'm sure we'll be back there in the future.
What a great way to round-out our trip to the Pacific Northwest! Staying with Elise and her husband was flat-out awesome -- they are so welcoming and incredibly generous with sharing their fresh farm eggs and home brews with us. We got to tour the chicken coop and collect fresh eggs, learn all about brewing, share study abroad and travel experiences, learn about how Elise developed her incredible sense of style for designing and decorating her home, and gush about how much we all LOVE airbnb! I wish we didn't have an early morning flight the next day, because it would have been so easy to stay up all night sharing stories with this super chill couple! Hope we get to visit again one day - whether its in Tacoma or Philly or somewhere in-between!! P.S. Super cute dog!
