If you need to unwind, if you want to enjoy good times with friends or family members, to celebrate special occasions or just relax in a quiet surrounding – here is the place to have it all!
In an older house built in line with traditional Philippine architecture mixed with a modern touch. Overlooking the lake, flush forests, Mount Banahaw and Mount Christopher in the background.
Situated on „Lake Lumot“ – an extension of „Lake Caliraya“, easily accessible from Manila and surrounding areas.
The space
The Island is composed of 3 Cottages:
1) The Main Cottage
2) The Open Cottage
2) The Keeper's Cottage
The Main Cottage consists of:
Ground floor: Entrance hall, bottom sleeping room with double bed, fully-equipped kitchen, dining area, one bathroom with shower and one separate toilet room.
First floor: 2 master bedrooms (one with TV), living room, 2 balconies (front and back).
On top the attic with 4 beds. Living room and attic, up to the ceiling, is an open area.
The house is surrounded by a big (about 2.500 sqm), carefully maintained garden-greenery, with a modest house for Sammy (Keeper's Cottage), the caretaker and his wife, and an open rest-house (gazebo) with fireplace, suitable for about 8-10 guests. On the lakeside, just above the water, a spacious “Jetty” is inviting anyone to simply rest and enjoy the view – or to take your lunch or dinner. A decent illumination in the evenings will guarantee a most romantic and unforgettable event.
Guest access
Guests can access the entire house except for the working room/atelier which is locked. Full access to garden area, jetty, and Open Cottage. No separate parties allowed as this is a family house.
Other things to note
The resort is not prepared to offer any food (Except “Tilapia”, the famous fish from Lake Lumot). Drinking water and a fully equipped kitchen – including a big refrigerator – are available. It is therefore suggested to bring along your own food supply. Sammy and his wife are nevertheless ready to cook for you – if notified beforehand. In this case, you are advised to clarify necessary details by email or phone before your arrival! Shopping possibilities in Barangay Bukal are very limited. Usually, only rice and basic items are available.
If you don’t want to miss your computer, take it along, event though we recommend a computer-free time here! A SMART-Tower is situated just opposite from the island which offers a good connection.
Air-conditions are not available as the weather is usually cool enough. Rooms are equipped with fans, which is usually sufficient in this altitude. Power cuts and water shortages occur as well as the house is situated on an island and is very dependent on external supplies. We usually have extra water buckets available.
Two paddle-boats/kayaks (each for one person only) for a ride on the lake are available. For a small additional fee Sammy will prepare these boats including life vests.
Please also not that the boat ride in our small banka is included but only a smaller amount of people can fit (6-7 pax). Please make sure to all arrive together so we just do one ride for everyone. If you prefer a larger boat our caretakers can assist you in renting one. Drinking water can be obtained for an additional fee. Also, we provide towels but due to the humidity it sometimes takes a while for them to dry so please also bring some along. Parking fees ar around 100/day - the parking is space is located on the mainland and is safe.
It can also get a bit chilly in the nights so please bring some sweater/jackets with you!
Also, please note that there is another airbnb located on the other side of the island. However, there is not interaction between the parties as the area is closed and not accessible for the other airbnb guests. Only boats and kayaks are shared.
IMPORTANT: The owner of the Island Resort is not liable for any injuries suffered as a result of using the facilities of the house or its surrounding. Please be cautious when using the staircases, the kitchen equipment, the paddle boats, the “main boat” or when swimming.
