AVAILABLE FROM MIDDLE OF MAY TO MIDDLE OF SEPTEMBER
This small and cozy cabin is in a mountain slope above lake Thingvellir. Family-owned and the owners have kept it as if they were staying there. Placed on a 1/2 acre of land surrounded by forest, with a unique and fantastic view - and of the Northern lights when conditions are right. Located about a 45 minutes drive from Reykjavik and it is close to the Golden circle sights and Thingvellir National Park; a place on UNESCO´S world heritage list.

The space
The small rustic cabin is ideal for those who want to get away from it all and get close to nature - but you have to be able to walk up a walk path in a mountain slope. The cabin has 2 bedrooms, where the walls do not reach the ceiling (for heating reasons); one with double bed and a bunk bed, the other with a twin bed and a single bed. There is a sofa bed in the living room where two persons can sleep. A foldable baby crib is also available. Bathroom with a shower, newly furbished kitchen with a fridge, hot plate and a microwave oven. Outside is a BBQ grill for your outdoor cooking. Bedlinen and towels provided. The property is in a mountain slope and in an open rugged area, so parents have to look after their children so they don´t hurt themselves or wander too far away. (There are four cabins within the same fenced in area).

Guest access
The guests will have an access to the whole property during their stay.

Other things to note
We will leave you "inside" information places in the South to visit in our visitor information folder.

During your stay
A folder with practical information about staying in the cabin will be available.
It will also include information about places near by, or in the South, that are worth visiting. The owners have traveled Iceland all over for work and pleasure many times and will share with their guests information about places they might otherwise miss – places that only locals might know about. One is a professional guide, Bryndis, and the other one a professional film maker, Valdimar, and they know their country.
It might be able to book a private guided tour with the guide (depending on her bookings).
