Lots of outdoor living
Claudia was a nice and welcoming host. She was helpful with information and booking of transport.
Nice house with a beatutiful patio. Garden with beach access and walking distance to the supermarket, restaurants and Cabo Blanco. We had a great time, and the only thing we have to complain about is that the wifi-access was limited to the garden.
We would definitely recommend this!
Cabuya is a cool sleepy town w easy access to montezuma etc. loved Claudia's house and loved claudia wish we could have stayed longer
Claudia was an excellent host; she was all the time aware of what we need, she even helped us to find an additional fan for one bedroom. Additionally the house description was completely aligned to what we found. The house was less than 15 minutes away driving from Montezuma and really close to a couple of nice beaches between Montezuma and Cabuya.
We loved our week in Cabuya at Claudia's farm view cottage. The cottage is well shaded by fruit trees and flowering plants. The street is very quiet and peaceful. The outdoor cooking fireplace and sink were the center for the best fish dinner you could imagine - a short walk to the beach and fresh fish from local fishermen. The inside kitchen had everything we needed. The rooms were beautiful. The washing machine made traveling light work great. The village had everything we needed in a short walk : the Bakery was our favorite 2 minutes - grocery and restaurant 3 minutes - beach and fish shack 5 minutes - causeway to the remarkable cemetery Island too. Telephone was very helpful as was the great high speed Internet access. If you value a quiet getaway this is perfect - nightlife in Montezuma is a short drive if needed. Thanks for a great, restful experience and a look at an authentic Costa Rican village. Strongly recommend.
Arriving at El Chante on a Friday night in pitch black, we were still so excited to walk in and see the inside of our new home for the next couple weeks. We absolutely fell in love with the cottage's charm and inviting feeling. You can tell that Claudia used her stellar creativity to make this place more than just a rental- we wanted to stay here forever!
Waking up to the sound of roosters and howler monkeys to get you to start your day early before the sun gets hot reminds you that this truly is the "Pura Vida" life of Costa Rica.
The home is fully equipped with blender, coffee maker, and all the other essentials you'll need to stay comfortably. The water is fed by spring from the Cabo Blanco nature reserve, and is packed with minerals to keep you hydrated. The abundance of fruit trees will also keep you cool as we feasted on manzanilla de agua (water apple, right by the back porch), Limon, ( a lime/lemon hybrid that's like nothing you've ever tasted before), starfruit, and coconut were all in season during our stay. There was a young guanabana tree there, as well, which was sad that it had not bore fruit yet! We quickly learned that the guanabana was our new favorite fruit.
The view from each porch provides an array of stunning beauty - from the variegated squirrels in the front, to the cows in the back, it's never a dull moment.
We ventured to the Super David and Super Chicho stores to get food and supplies - they have mostly anything you need there. The cemetery island was absolutely beautiful, and the panaderia at the end of the street makes the best casado I've had so far!
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at El Chante, and Claudia was amazing. She did everything she could to make sure our stay was comfortable - the kitchen sink broke, and although we had a laundry sink and BBQ sink, she came by the same day to replace it! She also checked up on us via phone after our first full day to see if we needed anything. We also visited her gallery, and took one of her beautiful pieces home. You can tell that Claudia puts so much into her work and her rental home, and we are so appreciative of her hospitality.
