Merci Annabelle !
My family -- two adults and one almost-3-year-old -- had a truly wonderful time over 10 days at Annabelle's apartment. Annabelle was there to greet us to her lovely place when we arrived, and provided us with wonderful cherries, a bottle of wine, toys for our child, and above all a warm welcome to Paris. As everyone who has stayed here notes, the apartment could not be more ideally located, around the corner from the Place des Vosges, 500 yards from a good boulangerie on the corner, near several grocery stores, etc. I wanted to note for those with very small children that the stairs to the loft bed, which I had worried about a bit before arrival as I knew our toddler would be drawn to them, can in fact be covered/locked with a latch (so we could just avoid them, though older children would love the whole set-up, of course). Some might want to know that the kitchen does not have an oven (we had surmised this from Annabelle's excellent pictures, but others might miss it so I thought I"d mention it. The microwave can be used as one I think, though we did not use it this way). But the kitchen, with a great stove top, was still a great place to cook. And the bathroom is lovely, with a nice rain shower and big tub (it's a bit slippy -- we happened to have stick-on-treads which were useful!), and the towel warmer is a great place to dry clothes which can be washed in the much-appreciated washing machine. This was our very first AirBnb experience and it was fantastic. Annabelle is lovely and went out of her way to make sure we had what we needed. She also kindly gave us a discount when she learned there would be some unexpected construction during our visit (which in the end was not all that disruptive, but it was such a nice gesture for her to have made, and not every host would have done the same). We recommend this place, and Annabelle, without reservation, and hope to return! Merci, Annabelle -- nous esperons de te revoir!
a spacious studio
We'd love to stay there again
(The plaster work on facade seemed to be finishing during our week there, so minor annoyance of workmen and scaffolding should be resolved soon; certainly not Annabelle's fault.
We had a very nice stay in annabelle's cozy apartment. It was just as it appeared in the photos and my family of 4 slept comfortably. Annabelle was there waiting for us and showed us how to use everything in the apartment. She also checked in with us to be sure we had everything we needed.
We had a wonderful stay at Annabelle's apartment, which was exactly as we hoped it would be. The apartment is small but it has everything you need for a great stay in Paris.
We travelled with our two small children (4 and 5) who both loved sleeping in the loft bed. There were toys in the apartment which kept them amused and Annabelle kindly provided some sweets for the kids.
The apartment could not be better located, it is literally thirty seconds walk to a wonderful boulangerie/patisserie for bread and cakes and about a minute's walk to the beautiful Place des Vosges, which has a playground for the little ones. There are plenty of restaurants around and Annabelle helpfully pointed out the (great) supermarket which is about five minutes' walk away, as well as the awesome Bastille market that is open on Sundays.
The kitchen has everything you need, including a nice pod espresso machine. Annabelle very kindly stocked the fridge with milk and orange juice.
The bathroom has a really nice shower/bath and a heated towel rack that is great for drying clothes washed in the small but much appreciated washing machine.
The ground floor location is very convenient if you have a few suitcases but it doesn't offer a lot of privacy unless you close the curtains. This wasn't an issue for us at all, the street is not busy and in general the apartment was pretty quiet.
My wife and I slept in the bed underneath the loft, which is a fold-out sofa bed but you wouldn't know it, it's king size and very comfortable. We slept very well! There is also a single cot-style bed which we didn't use.
Annabelle was extremely friendly; she was there on time to meet us and gave us a great introduction to the apartment and pointed out restaurants and other useful local services.
I have only positives about the apartment, it was our base for a wonderful family holiday in Paris and I would highly recommend it.
Another wonderful time at Annabelle's. She was there to meet us and gave us some extra information on eating places. Our three grandchildren loved it! It is so near to everything and the children could go out for the bread each morning. The coffee machine was a treat and with shops nearby it all made our stay very enjoyable.
