About this listing

Im pretty much by everything or have easy access to it! I love living by the park so I really feel like I am escaping from the craziness of the city, but its only a few stops away!

The space

Please do tell me a bit about what brings you to NYC!
We're located just 5 stops into Brooklyn on the Q/B line, a block from Prospect Park, and minutes from Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the Brooklyn Library and the Brooklyn Museum (the 2, & 5 train lines are also just a 6 minute walk away B and Shuttle a 10 min walk away).
Great new restaurants and bars in the hood or more options two stops on train in either direction. There are plenty of food options near - Chinese, Indian, Italian downstairs, and grocery store, liquor store and laundry are all across the street!

The flat is on the 4th floor of a walkup. Its a large, 3 bedroom, with shared a shared bathroom. I live in the unit and rent out the other two rooms. Iron, blow dryer, power adapter and just about most things you may need.
I am mature, fun and easy going but also very responsible - I actually host because I like to take care of people and this is a way for me to extend a bit of hospitality. I have always subleased to Europeans so I am very comfortable with foreigners and see it as an opportunity to study other languages.

There has never been a problem for anyone coming home on the train late at night and a taxi from midtown will run you about 25 dollars.

Guest access

Walking to Brooklyn Museum, Prospect Park, Zoo, Botanic Gardens, Brooklyn Library, Grand Army Palza, Restaurants at Cortelyou Road or restaurants in Prospect Heights- ALL JUST A 20 MIN WALK MAX!
There is also a hand crank washer and dryer in the home if you are green like me and wanna use it NP! The laundry mat is downstairs and their drop off service is great! I also pretty much have whatever you may need!

Interaction with guests

I work from home so I am always around to help! I like to see NYC through a new person's eyes! First and foremost this is my home and I am happy to share it with likeminded guests

Other things to note

Do let me know if there is anything you may need for your stay! Please do not be someone that spends all day in the home. I work in the creative field and find it distracting for those that are at home 24/7.

NYC is a very dirty place & I pride myself on habits that ensure each guest needn't worry about the state of cleanliness.
No shoes allowed in house.
Shared spaces should be pleasant for all.
Clean up after yourself - leaving things in an equal or better state than you found them in, but I do all the heavy cleaning:)
Respect neighbors and the rules posted in my building.
No loud noise after 11 pm
Do not do anything to put the home or guests in danger - (lock doors, windows, be responsible with the electricity turning lights and fans off when leaving house or a room).
Notes around the house to keep the common areas comfortable for all guests and myself.
First and foremost this is a home:)

What a lovely room and comfy bed! Everything I could ever need was available for me. Dennis was friendly, accommodating and so helpful! Her kitty "shorty" was so adorable and friendly. Need a question answered about trains or places to eat or places to go? Dennis had them. Thanks again for an awesome stay in NY! I recommend this AirBnB highly.

I've been at Dennis home for 4 nights and surely I can say that Dennis is a great host! If you are searching for calm, clean and safe place to stay, than you are at right place. Dennis was great - so kind, commmunicative, positive. The bed is so comfortable, I was sleeping like a baby. Place is 4 minutes away from nearest subways station and 25 minutes by metro to Times sq. Surely, I'll be back! Thank you!

My partner and I had a really agreable time staying in Thalia's apartment. The bedrooms are spacious and fully functional, the kitchen is great and always clean, and there are always snacks and food available. I recommend staying there !

The cat was a fantastic host. She showed me to my room, slept with me every night from the first night, and licked my face every morning. She keeps a clean house with lots of helpful post-its everywhere. Oh and Thalia was great too. ;) Everything was exactly as expected. The neighborhood was clean, safe, and close to two subway stations. Am definitely coming back here on my next visit, for the cat of course.

Thalia made me feel very welcome, waited until I could arrive from a train. she gave me wonderfully clear directions for the subway- a huge help as I did not know the city at all. Very friendly and had some food for me which was so kind. Her cat is lovely too.

I am a laid back neat freak.. if there is such a thing:) I live to travel and have subleased to travelers since 2007! Anyone that writes me will get a reply esp if they take the time to tell me about why they are travelling and has taken the time to write a profile as well!

I couch surfed all over Europe for months, so I am pretty good at this type of thing! I look forward to hearing from you! I live in Brooklyn in a West Indian and Jewish historic neighborhood right off of Prospect park! Walking Distance to lots of stuff and I am always game to help out or join!

.....it is so hard to talk about oneself, sorry i mean sell oneself in the personal forum.its easier to talk about ideas and i have plenty of those.i am honest almost to a fault........wait thats not interesting so i will start with my bad traits.....i am a perfectionist with a tendency to procrastinate and misspell everything.i dont like show offs or ppl that feel superior(because i obviously am the superior one...duh).crack kills but if your are really hot we can work out a compromise.

I am the queen of contradictions and I dig it! LOVE pantera and wham!/ color purple and anchor man/ care too much about grammar but cant spell/ .laid back control freak/ I like dive bars but am grossed out by poor table manners/ hermit ppl person / messy neat freak / healthy unhealthy person, and so on:)

I have been performing and working in the arts since I was 3 and I have always made my living doing so. Im pretty much open to all ideas but that doesnt mean that Im gonna try all ideas:) My name is Thalia, which was the muse of comedy in Greek mythology and my name fits:)

I love physical activity. I was a professional dancer for 20 years and with out that level of activity I feel so outta shape so if you like to get out and about I am game. When ever I am in the park I want to ask everyone if I can get in on their game. Did MMA for about a year and miss it, but injuries make it hard.
If you read this far, bless you cause this must be a mess to read cause I am doing a half assed rewrite! Gotta keep learning and evolving.

Honesty and communication are tops to me. Dont fight dirty and always look for compromise!

Just be cool and we can get along... "and please be honest, this is for posterity"
