Im pretty much by everything or have easy access to it! I love living by the park so I really feel like I am escaping from the craziness of the city, but its only a few stops away!
GREAT Brooklyn bedroom available.:) We're located just 5 stops into Brooklyn on the Q/B line, a block from Prospect Park, and minutes from Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the Brooklyn Library and the Brooklyn Museum. (the 2, & 5 train lines are also just a 6 minute walk away). Great restaurants and bars two stops on train in either direction. There are plenty of food options near by Chinese, Indian, Italian downstairs, and grocery store, liquor store and laundry are all across the street!
The flat is a large, 3 bedroom, with shared bathroom, hardwood floors, new kitchen & windows, cable TV with over 500 channels (IN LIVING ROOM), wireless (website hidden) IN in common areas and fans in the room. Also have iron, blow dryer, power adapter and just about most things you may need.
The living room is large, and the bathroom is old fashioned with a claw foot tub. The OWNER OF . the apartment IS mature, fun and easy going but also very responsible ( very neat and you should be also!). I have always subleased to Europeans so i am very comfortable with foreigners and see it as an opportunity to study other languages.
I have a sweet Mainecoon that loves to meet new ppl!!
There are three different rooms for rent at different times. The pictures are all included in the advert and I can let you know which is going to be available. All rooms are at least 10 by 15 feet.
The neighborhood has lots of fast food and grocery stores! There has never been a problem for anyone coming home on the train late at night and a taxi from midtown will run you about 25 dollars.
These are some recc from ppl that I have subleased to:) Thalia
"Living with Thalia was amazing! Being in New York can be tough, and you will run into many people who aren't friendly; whether your on the job or on the subway etc. But one thing that you can count on is that when you get home, you will be around people who are genuine, kind and always have time to listen. My fondest memory of living with thalia, was when she went out of her way to help me out when i got ill (she helped me get medicine, fluids, and really helped me achieve a speedy recovery). Thalia respects your personal space and also gives great advice to people not from NYC on what to check out around the city. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is mature, willing to keep the place clean, and is looking for positive minded housemates!"- Sumeet from Edmonton, Alberta
"I had the best time staying at Thalia's!! After an open -armed welcome I immediately felt like home. She was more than willing to help me around, give tips and so on. Her cat was suspicious at first, but we became friends during my stay.. I would love to stay at her house the next time I'm in NYC, and she is always welcome at my house. I can say nothing but positive things. Thanks for everything, dear! :)" Siri Gjertsen Oslo, Norway
"Living with Thalia was great, i'm from the UK so she made me feel right at home in brooklyn. She keeps the house immaculately clean and everything is relaxed and comfortable. I've had room mates before but of course you come into conflict and what not but this was a different story, Thalia's real chilled and friendly lady, absolutely can't say a bad thing about her, i've really gained a great friendship from living with her. The rooms are large and warming! If i didn't have to return to my native, then i'd probably still be there!" Fatima Aziz, London
It is without reservation that I recommend Thalia as a roommate. I am an Irish artist and I stayed with her for about 6 weeks, the duration of my artist residency programme. Thalia was consistently courteous, neat, and respectful of my personal space. The apartment, which is very beautiful and comfortable, is always kept in an immaculate condition, due to her wonderful love of cleaning. In the time we lived together, she was very helpful with information and recommendations about the area and Manhattan itself. In fact, the experience was so positive that I chose to stay an extra couple of weeks! Besides being responsible and kind, Thalia is genuinely a fun person to have around. She is warm and friendly, has a great sense of humour, and is very generous and down-to-earth. I would not hesitate to share a rental with her in the future.

Walking distance to Brooklyn Museum, Prospect Park, Zoo, Botanic Gardens, Brooklyn Library, Grand Army Palza, Restaurants at Cortelyou Road or restaurants in Prospect Heights- ALL JUST A 20 MIN WALK MAX!
There is also a hand crank washer and dryer in the home if you are green like me and wanna use it NP! The laundry mat is downstairs and their drop off service is great! I also pretty much have whatever you may need !
Interaction with Guests
I work from home often so I am always around to help! I like to see NYC through a new person's eyes!
Its a mix of ppl from the islands and ppl that have been here forever! Its a real neighborhood where ppl say hello to each other and ladies feel safe coming home tipsy at all hours! Summer time is great time to experience Carnival, concerts in Prospect Park or free days at the Botanic Gardens on Tuesday!
There are four train lines within a ten minutes of the flat so weekend train issues dont get us down! There are also tons of buses!
Other Things to Note
Do let me know if there is anything you may need for your stay!
Clean up after yourself leaving things in an equal or better state than you found them in. No crumbs left any where. No shoes allowed in house ever.
Respect neighbors! Try to be as green as possible so we recycle and conserve energy by always turning electric items off when not in use.
There are signs through out home to tell you of house rules:)
A laundromat, three restaurants and a supermarket are right in front of this apartment. The Q, 2 and 3 metro stations are a couple of blocks away. The locations was incredibly ideal.
I only spent 4 days with Dennis in the apartment, she had to leave for the month, but that was enough to tell that she got a great personality. It was super fun and relaxing to have a chat with her after work.
If you get a change to stay with Dennis, take it!
She is a really nice host. She also cares about your experiences and makes you feel at home. I stayed in her room for 3 weeks and even though she was away she made sure I had everything.Well maintained apartment.
Thalia provided a clean comfortable experience during my stay. As someone new to NYC she was a great resource for fun things in the city and just a great host. The apartment is close to three train lines, a block from the grocery store, and 2 blocks from the second largest park in the city. Long story short I decided to book the room for an additional couple months.
Completely brilliant. Thalia's accomodations are well taken care of and she's quite a flexible, friendly host. Definite two thumbs up!
I rented a bedroom at Thalia's apartment for a month and a half during a summer internship and had a pleasant experience overall. The house is really close to a few grocery stores and fast food places as well as a laundromat and subway station, which made daily living very convenient. The apartment itself was also kept neat and tidy, and Thalia would let me use the pots and pans as well as spices in the kitchen if I didn't have any. She was also very helpful when it came to finding places of interest within Brooklyn and Manhattan. The only problem I had was that the air conditioning was in the living room and didn't make it into my bedroom at night, which made it quite hot since I was there in the summer. Other than that I had a nice short term stay and would recommend this apartment to others.

it is so hard to talk about oneself, sorry i mean sell oneself in the personal forum.its easier to talk about ideas and i have plenty of those.i am honest almost to a fault........wait thats not interesting so i will start with my bad traits.....i am a perfectionist with a tendency to procrastinate and misspell everything.i dont like show offs or ppl that feel superior(because i obviously am the superior one...duh).crack kills but if your are really hot we can work out a compromise.
I am the queen of contradictions and I dig it! LOVE pantera and wham!/ color purple and anchor man/ care too much about grammar but cant spell/ .laid back control freak/ I like dive bars but am grossed out by poor table manners/ hermit ppl person / messy neat freak / healthy unhealthy person, and so on:)
I have been performing and working in the arts since I was 3 and I have always made my living doing so. Im pretty much open to all ideas but that doesnt mean that Im gonna try all ideas:) My name is Thalia, which was the muse of comedy in Greek mythology and my name fits:)
I love physical activity. I was a professional dancer for 20 years and with out that level of activity I feel so outta shape so if you like to get out and about I am game. When ever I am in the park I want to ask everyone if I can get in on their game. Did MMA for about a year and miss it, but injuries make it hard.
If you read this far, bless you cause this must be a mess to read cause I am doing a half assed rewrite! Gotta keep learning and evolving.
Honesty and communication are tops to me. Dont fight dirty and always look for compromise!
Just be cool and we can get along... "and please be honest, this is for posterity"
