I had a phenomenal stay at Marlene's. She was v kind, helpful and extraordinarily flexible when my check-in was rather late. She knows Berlin quite well.
The room is clean, the bed comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped. There was even a small table so I could do some laptop-related work. It's also really nicely located; you'll love this area of Kreuzberg!
The apartment was nice, well-located, and the hosts particularly friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend a stay there!
Marlene is a very open and friendly host who was always there to help whenever I had any problems. The room is cosy and very nicely furnished and the ground level location is perfect for the summer. The room always stayed cool, even on 80+ degree (F) days. The location is beautiful--my morning walk by the canal and the Neukolln restaurants on my way to class was always very pleasant and there are loads of nice, inexpensive Kreuzkolln restaurants, bars and flea markets nearby. Highly recommended!
Marlene was a friendly host who was happy to have a chat whenever we crossed paths. The apartment is in a fantastic location, close to many good (and cheap) restaurants and bars in Kreuzberg. There are a number of U-Bahn stops in close proximity so getting around to other areas of Berlin is very easy. It's also a great spot for running, as the apartment is right next to a canal, which provides lovely routes in both directions and it is only 10-15 from the old Templehof airport, which is a massive open park perfect for runners. I will certainly be staying here agin when I return to Berlin.
Marlene is such a good host. She is a very open woman, when you are the same. We had a good chemistry and talked about things. Both the practical ones, but also of interests. Art and theater among other cultural things. She is also good at suggesting events in the area and so. I lived at her place for three month, and still no problems came along. If you want to be for yourself you can do that, if you want to socialize Marlene is also good for that.
Well that was the host, which is always the most important! Next comes the room and the apartment: the room is small and got what it needs a bed (to turn out), a table and a bookcase plus a window to the nice, green backyard. I think the apartment is located in a very attractive area with a local turkish mark with very nice fruit and vegetables twice a week, which also give points! All in all a very successful place to stay wether you are there short or for a longer period. I can only recommend this host and this place!
Marlene was a kind and considerate host, and was helpful with information about the neighborhood and nearby things to do. The room was comfortable and private. I got around by bicycle, and found it very easy to get everywhere from the apartment.
Marlene was a wonderful host! She provided me with a really useful map of Berlin, which I used during my whole stay, and heaps of guidebooks. She was very kind and eager to help me around Berlin. The room was very cozy and the house was very clean and in a central location. I definitely recommend her!
I spent 2 wonderful weeks in Berlin! Marlene is a great host, friendly and always ready to suggest what to do & where to go!
We had a great time drinking "Spritz" in front of the canal, and also at the lake...
House is very well located, the right start to discover the city!
Marlene is a super host: friendly and welcoming, providing local guidebooks and a wealth of insider knowledge about what to do in Berlin. She also makes a mean cafe latte! The room is really nice and compact, and most importantly its located in one of my favourite parts of Berlin, right next to the vibrant canal and surrounded by loads of really interesting and cheap restaurants, bars and cafes.
