The Space

Grass roof above a fish pond with a giant Ganesha statue and tremendous views.

You are welcome to fresh goats milk and organic veggies from the neighboring organic garden and can enjoy hikes on the many trails that border the property.

We check in with guests daily and are helpful in navigating your stay in Ubud.

The Neighborhood

This is a hidden spot literally just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Ubud with its restaurants and shops but it feels lost in the country. Next door feel free to see how traditional coconut soap is made.

  • The hut is cute. Staff was very friendly. The host was very helpful. We have to share toilet with the host and it was a bit dirty and smelly. It was quite hard to go to the toilet in the night time. The rest was ok and not to far from ubud town ^_^

  • Our host and the place was really wonderful! The combination of being in a real quiet neighborhood near the ricefields and walking distance to Ubud was fantastic. It was great to have the respite from the busy streets of ubud. Also, Rainy and the staff were incredibly helpful for anything and everything, and so great to meet! What nice people. A good start for a trip to indonesia for sure

  • This is truly something special: Close enough to but still far away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud is this hard to find gem.
The lombong is very, very simple but clean and the hospitality of Rainy and her staff (special regards to Wayan - I miss you!) and the view from the doorstep are unbeatable.
    I did enjoy my time.

  • We stayed for two nights at the beginning of June. The location would be hard to find on your own so having our driver call the owner when we were near worked out perfectly, someone came out to the street to walk us in. The room is clean and bed pretty comfortable. Contrary to some other reviews, there were mosquitoes and moths in the hut at night and regardless of wearing lots of bug repellent to sleep we still got mosquito bites. Not sure if it's the season we're in or what as I'm sure others who say there were no insects were true but this was just our experience. I think (email hidden) over the bed would give a better peace of mind during sleep.

Special thanks for accommodating a last minute change. We had to add one more guest and the owner added an extra floor mat for us.

Our stay really wasn't long enough to fully enjoy the whole rice field experience as we checked in late and checked out before sunrise the second day, and during the day we were out seeing the town (which was a pretty close walk). I wish we stayed longer and during a time when the rice field is fully green to see its full beauty. I think when we were there it was just after harvest and the field was more dry and yellow. Regardless it was a cute environment. Coming home at night you need a flashlight to find your path.

Roosters will wake you up around 4am and won't stop cockadoodling for hours so if you are a light sleeper this isn't the place for you. Again, it is a part of the whole country-living experience.

    Thank you!

  • Wayans place was perfect. Had everything that i needed. Wayan went out of her way to make my stay enjoyable. I was lost in ubud and she came and got me. I had the use of a local phone and torch. The bed was very comfortable. Lovely view over the rice paddys. Coffee and pancake for breakfast. Short walk to center of ubud. Thanks wayan.

  • my time at the traditional balinese lombong was welcoming, restful and calm. it's beautifully tucked away in the rice fields where it's peaceful and lush, and yet just a 7-10 minute walk away, you'll be in the hustle and bustle of culture that is ubud. super close to radiantly alive yoga, ganesha bookstore and bali buda cafe and market, this super cute place is the best of both worlds: conveniently close to the activities, yet blissfully apart from the noise. (if you don't want to bother with and/or are intimidated by the scooters, you CAN walk to the center.)

enjoy breakfast and coffee in the sun, overlooking the green, in the elegant dining/lounging space, admire the beautiful ganesha statues, simply chill out and gaze at the stars. you have your private clean, basic room, a shared bathroom and access to the kitchen. for the price, it's an excellent deal! (if you're traveling during the new moon phase, a flashlight or torch is recommended for the trail.)

the host offers great, practical advice and travel suggestions in bali, and there's a wonderful sincerity about the entire place. i would most definitely return!

  • The listing was what I expected and more. My host was very professional and took care of all my needs.

I had a very good sleep, the bed was very comfortable. (This is very important to me)
There were no insects or anything in the room which looked like new and kept very clean.

I felt privileged to sleep in such a very artistic hand made straw hut. I wish I could have one in my own home.

The breakfast was very good and prepared with care.

The paved path from the main road to the house is very rural and for nature lovers it is a delight. I loved it!

I would rate highly this sleeping accommodation for being very unique.
It would be appreciated for people who are nature and art lovers and have simple needs.

I felt very safe, comfortable and at peace.

  • This is the first place we visited when we arrived in Indonesia.
Our host had organised a pickup from the airport for us and when we woke up the next morning and saw the view, we were amazed. It’s only a 10 minute walk to the center of Ubud, but it’s so beautiful and peaceful.

The room is small and basic, but you don’t really need anything else. There’s a fan and it seems much cooler at night than in the center of Ubud, so we didn’t feel the need for AC. If you are sensitive to noise in the morning from chickens etc, we recommend you bring earplugs.

Our host made sure we had a different breakfast every day, and did everything they could to make our stay relaxing and excellent. The host also gave us a lot of good advice on where to eat and what to visit, and organised so many things for us! Massages, transport, a biking tour, laundry our fast boat to the Gili’s, you name it.

We would recommend this place to anyone who visits Ubud, overall we had an awesome stay. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful!

  • I enjoyed my stay here especially compared to living in Singapore. It's close enough to Ubud but without the noise of motorbikes. The rice paddies are right in front of the house. Also, I loved being able to see the stars on a clear night. The host was very welcoming and shared her travel tips.

  • We had a great experience in this cosy home-stay! There is only one lombong, so we were the only guests which made it a very personal stay.
Every morning we opened our door and the wonderful and unique view over the rice fields, best start in the day. Although it's a very quiet place, it's still close to the city centre, you can easily reach the Ubud Palace within 15-20 minutes walking.
The room has basic furnishing and a small fan (but it's enough in order not to feel hot in the night). Our host was friendly and helpful, also recommending nice trips to us and organised the renting of a motorbike, ordering food in the evening etc. We felt very welcome!
The breakfast was really nice, every day a different creation.
