The Vacation Home:
This home offers an open floor plan with large open living room and dining room, and a beautifully upgraded and fully stocked kitchen with all the equipment you need to cook a homemade feast! Three bedrooms are on the second floor, a master bedroom with a California King bed, a spacious walk in closet and attached bathroom, the other two bedrooms (one with a Queen bed, the other with a Twin-over-Full bunk bed) share the second upstairs bathroom. Additional sleeping space includes living room couches, and/or air mattresses which can be setup in the living room and/or King bedroom. This home will easily sleep 8, 10-12 if people don't mind air mattresses. If you wish to sleep more than 8, please message me so we can work out the details and I can ensure you'll be comfortable.
I've supplied the house with everything I can think of to make sure your stay is pleasant and comfortable. I'd be glad to make local restaurant, attraction, museum, etc. recommendations.
If there's a particular item or two you feel you need in a vacation rental which I have not mentioned, please feel free to let me know. Chances are it's already here, and if not I'll let you know if I can get it for you by the time you arrive.
You will have access to the entire 3 bedroom home, and pretty much everything you'd expect to come along with it. Includes free laundry, free off street parking for at least 2 cars (we can discuss a third if you think it'll be necessary), cable TV, Netflix, high speed wireless internet... basically the works. If there's anything you're curious about just let me know, chances are it's included.
Interaction with Guests
I live next door so I am generally available during your stay if there's anything you need. I will also provide you with my cell number in case there's anything you need mid-stay. I'd be glad to drop by to help get you settled in, make local recommendations, etc.
This property is in the Atwater Village neighborhood of Los Angeles, centrally located between Hollywood, Glendale and Silverlake. This is a fantastic neighborhood with lots of new restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and shops. My home is located within a half block of the central Atwater Village street (Glendale Blvd). This is a very walkable neighborhood and a great place for people of all ages to have a fantastic getaway.
If it's more of a big city trip you're looking for, you are conveniently located within a a few miles of much of what LA has to offer: Hollywood, Silverlake, Pasadena, you name it!
This home is perfect for a family vacation to the big city while still allowing for some quiet mellow time away from the hustle and bustle when necessary.

Once you book I can provide directions (driving and/or public transit) from any major freeway, airports or train station.
In addition to having several major freeways easily accessible, there are also busses that drop off only a block or two away, which will take you anywhere in LA. Feel free to let me know if you want help figuring out how to get somewhere.
Other Things to Note
I try to leave some basic food items in the kitchen including pasta, jam, peanut butter, condiments, oil & vinegar, salt, pepper, spices, etc. These are for your use so please don't feel shy using them. In return, if you have extra non-perishable items left at the end of your stay, please consider leaving them for the next guests.
This is a nice, quiet, safe, and secure neighborhood and I expect my guests to maintain that image at all times. You are welcome to have a good time but please respect the neighbors and keep outdoor volume to a minimum in the late evening and at night. It is fine to come and go late at night, just please be respectful.
Small dogs may be allowed upon request, and will require an additional cleaning fee. Dogs are not allowed on any furniture. Sorry, but no cats, birds, reptiles, etc.
Families (including small children) are strongly encouraged. This would be the perfect place for a family trip. I have some baby things like high chair, safety gate for the stairs, etc. Just let me know you'll want them and I'll get them out.
Smoking is not allowed in the building or near the doors or any open window. Guests may smoke on the front patio as long as the window is closed, or in the parking area. Buts are to be fully extinguished and placed the ashtray or trashcan.
Please treat my home as you would your own. I have a professional cleaner to do sheets, towels, empty trash, vacuum, etc. But please clean any large messes, wash dishes (there is a dishwasher), return furniture to it's original place, and place trash in the cans (either inside or outside) prior to checking out.
The thermostat is generally set to heat if below 68F and cool if above 75F (20C/23.5C). At night it will adjust to a range of 65F to 77F (18C/25C) between 11pm and 7am. If you are uncomfortable with these temperatures, please let me know and I can adjust the schedule for you. You are welcome to open windows and doors, but please make sure they aren't doing the opposite of the thermostat (i.e. if the AC is on and it's hot outside, do not open windows until it cools off outside and is cooler than indoor temp).
Events and parties are NOT allowed unless prior approval is given. Low key events such as a post-wedding brunch (which we've had a couple of), or hosting family and friends for a casual BBQ or dinner, are generally going to be fine. Once it starts to sound more like a party, it's probably not going to be ok.
My home is available for filming, but understand that you'll be paying significantly more than the regular rate due to the extra people, risk, utilities use, wear and tear, etc. You will of course need to have all the proper permitting, insurance, equipment, your own generators, stunt coordinator if necessary, etc. All filming activities must take place between 7am and 10pm, may not block traffic, and may not take up space outside the property line (sidewalks, road, neighbors property, etc.).
The house was perfect for our multifamily trip. It was large and clean. It was in a safe quiet neighborhood that was close to restaurants and shopping. The house was the most well stocked rental I have ever stayed at. There was a large dining room for the entire family and a high chair available. There was even parking available. Owen and Ashley were very nice hosts. It was a great home base for our trip.
This house is awesome. Owen and Ashley couldn't do enough to make us feel at home. We felt like family friends rather than strangers. The beds were so comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped with everything a person could ever want. The space looks exactly as the pictures and was the cleanest airbnb we've stayed in.
The best host we have ever had. Loved our stay and would recommend this property with all my heart!
This was the most beautiful home and I can't imagine a better way to enjoy Los Angeles. Ashley and Owen were extremely responsive to every email and text (literally, I got responses in usually 5 minutes). Great location too, only a few blocks from Starbucks :)
Owen has been really helpful during our entire stay. His home is perfect size for our family of 8. It`s very conveniently located within LA and major highways. We enjoyed our stay there very much.
We so enjoyed staying in your home. It was the perfect location and space for our family. After we had booked our space, we had more family members decide to come see us, Owen was so accommodating when I added 2 more guests. This was our first AirBNB experience and they made it so easy. This property is the best place to stay in LA if you want be close enough to get to the hot spots quickly, yet enjoy a quiet, safe neighborhood. Owen and Ashley perfectly delivered on our stay. Their property is well maintained and stocked. They were very responsive to questions and provided great restaurant recommendations. If you want a spacious, comfortable property, this is the place to stay!

I grew up in the small town of Ashland Oregon (home to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in case you're wondering why it rings a bell), moved to LA in the 2000's, and graduated from Occidental College with a degree in organic chemistry... which I use to make homebrew in my spare time.
I'm the guy who works to live, rather than lives to work. I clock my regular 40-hour work week but that's just the beginning. In my free time I like to ski, scuba dive, bike (bicycle and motorcycle, though I've recently given up the motorcycle), and brew beer. I'm also known as a foodie, nerd, and geek... Basically I'm up for just about anything, and strive to enjoy life to the fullest.
I love to travel, share good meals with friends, check out new local attractions, and see what adventures life takes me on. On any given night you might find me enjoying one of LA's newest restaurants, brewing a new beer recipe, sitting around chatting, or programming into the wee hours.
I take pride in this home and want it to have everything you may want for your perfect home away from home. I've thought long and hard about what it takes to make a great vacation home, from Q-Tips and nail clippers in the bathrooms, to restaurant menus in the guest book.
